Ah, well I could be wrong about that honestly. 200g per hour is just what I have heard from some mages who are playing on Elysium PvP. When I played a mage I could casually make about 100g per hour which is still very good.

I told you, AoE farming. I'm still waiting to hear the name of this tank, no I'm not going to whisper him calling him a 12 year old autist or whatever else you can come up with. I want to know because he might actually be a genuine person and a good player and we could run UBRS together sometime.

Ask the players who were in the group. I didn't get screenshots going that far back because I didn't expect to need to screenshot something so trivial as a player going afk for a bathroom break or something.

Do you have any proof of me insulting you prior to you taking the Stockade Pauldrons just so you could sell them? Cause I'm looking back through the chat logs... Looks to me like I was just asking nicely that you trade me the item because I really need it as opposed to you just wanting the gold from selling them. Let me add that you went afk for 10 or 15 minutes right before this happened. The group kindly waited for you to do whatever you were doing. Robes of the Archmage pattern actually dropped while you were afk and you didn't even notice. And like I said in the original post, need rolling on the item isn't the major issue. It's keeping it and laughing about taking something that another player actually needs, not for monetary gain but for equipping and using them. What you did basically created another instance of an item that will sit on the auction house or in your bank, not being used by any tank, not making the game easier for EVERYONE involved. Yes everyone; a tank that dies because they have green items often leads to the rest of the group also dying. A better geared tank makes runs smoother for everyone involved. There is a reason the tank items on the auction house aren't being bought up really quickly. It's because tanks are one of the hardest classes to make gold playing as. Let's do a little math here. (Using rough estimates based on the prices I have seen over the past week for items not currently on the AH) Medallion of Grand Marshal Morris (Tank BiS neck) - 250g Stockade Pauldrons (Tank BiS shoulders) - 350g Stonegrip Gauntlets (Tank BiS gloves) - 390g Boots of Avoidance (Tank BiS boots) - 135g +22 Fire Resistance ring (Tank BiS ring for MC) - 105g Alcor's Sunrazor (Tank BiS weapon) - 1400g That ends up being a total price of 2630 gold. I'm not saying this is an exact amount but it gives you a general idea of how much money a dedicated tank would spend on BoE BiS items. Combine this with the fact that we can not AoE farm to make 200g per hour, it really makes tanking one of the most financially difficult roles in the game. Now this is just my opinion of course, some people would say just get professions and farm black lotus or go mine ore. But that would mean one less tank to join your group and help you get the gear you need. So how can a tank make money while actually tanking? Charge people for runs? Reserve Righteous Orbs in Strat Live? These are all things that hinge on players actually willing to pay for the services, and the amount people pay is usually quite low. 10 to 20 gold for a run. Very few players will agree to a tank taking all of the Righteous Orbs so we have to settle for just reserving the first one that drops, then the rest are rolled out. This is also only going to net you about 20g a run unless you get lucky and win all of the other orbs that drop. These runs generally take 1 or 2 hours. That's about 10 to 20 gold per hour. So clearly the value of a tank item is NOT the same for a class that cannot even equip it, because the gold per hour threshold is so completely different depending on what class you play.

Yeah, I'm just glad this Oakenlix guy is alliance and not horde. Blizzard made the greed roll icon a gold coin for a reason lads.

Please explain to me how a tank can farm gold at the same rate as a mage, or even close to the same rate. I have played a mage on old nost. You can make 200g in a day easily by aoe farming. I can not aoe farm. I would love to know more ways to make money as a tank.

So I was in LBRS last night in a group with a mage named Beerwizzard and Stockade Pauldrons dropped. He immediately need rolled which would have been fine if he had traded the item to me. Instead he kept it and laughed about it, saying he would rather be known as a greedy moron. Group with this player at your own risk.
