  1. NB4 Thari closes this thread. This thread and this thread both on Page 1 makes for a ... well, I wouldn't call it "funny", per se.

    Greetings from a freshie

This is a serious thread that warrants serious discussion and should be addressed with all due seriousness.
  3. Well, we sure as fuck cant have an /xpoff command. Because "MUH BLIZZLIKE". True, it likely won't result in +2000 simultaneous players on Anathema, but twink PVP always has a strong following -- and anything that gives players a reason to login while they're waiting to (re)slay C'Thun should be worthy of consideration, "IT'S BLIZZLIKE BUT IT CAME AFTER LEVEL 60 SO IT'S NOT BLIZZLIKE" be damned. It's not entirely apples to apples, but neither is it entirely apples to oranges -- the decrease of the maximum respec cost from 50G to 25G (a non-"blizzlike" change I agree with) shows that there's a way (duh) if only there's a will, too.

Is there a list of gankers?

Congrats, Tubu -- keep up the good work!

    Helloooooo!!

The experience rate is "x1", or equivalent to classic WoW at launch, November 2004.
  6. Tangentially, what @Undertanker says is one reason why I want an /xpoff option. The most devoted of players tend to be (A) players actively ranking to High Warlord/Grand Marshall; (B) hardcore/serious business raiding guilds; and (C) twink players. An /xpoff option removes some of the cumbersome (pre)planning to making an X9 twink. And leveling/gearing twinks increases demand for non-60 instance runs, increases demand for BIS items, level-appropriate consumables. All of which keeps players logged in (and gives the raiders something to do between raid resets). Strictly Vanilla-WoW "BlizzLike"? No, it's not. However, it's not entirely NON-"BLIZZLIKE". Slippery slope arguments aside, the permanent alteration of the respec fees from a 50G maximum to a 25G maximum (to give players an incentive to participate in PVP) is an example of a non-"BlizzLike" change to the Vanilla-WoW experience that has not, in my mind, radically altered the vanilla experience for the negative. (<--- RUN ON SENTENCE, AHOY.) Certain "less-than-blizzlike" alterations should be considered for the betterment of server/playerbase health. And I posit that an /xpoff option is one of them.
  7. This didn't happen until WotLK, and it wasn't immediate either.
  8. Settle down, born-during-a-Bush-administration west side of a bell curve.
  9. The server became so uninspired with the low player-count that it decided to just take the day off. :3
  10. Solid suggestion. Eventually, some non-"MUH BLIZZLIKE" changes need to be considered for long-term server health.
  11. If you're not interested in leveling, there are LOLFUNSERVERS you can choose to play on. ( no )

    Am i really screwed ?

What exactly is the problem here? You re-rolled twice and quit playing twice ... and recently came back to discover that changes to the servers were made during your "hiatus" and that's a problem because you missed a deadline (because you weren't playing). YOU'RE RIGHT -- THERE IS NO "MECHANIXM" FOR PEOPLE WHO QUIT PLAYING TO CHOOSE WHICH SERVER THEIR CHARACTERS WOULD BE TRANSFERRED TO BE DEFAULT BECAUSE THEY WERENT PLAYING AND THE TRANSFERS ALREADY HAPPENED
  13. Same issue with me and "Jeddite" on Anathema. Some ZK hoser comes in and suddenly I gotta change my name. Screenshot from #discord indicates that if the ZK player with the name was a higher level than the Elysium/Anathema/Darrowshire character with that name, the ZK player/character is given priority. Kinda shitty to do, but "LOL FREE SERVER LOL" so... :/ :| :\ :| :/ :| :\ :| :\
  14. hey, maybe this pointless thread could be changed to "Best player per class THAT TRANSFERRED FROM ZETHKUR that still plays on this server" ??? think about it!
  15. The Elysium Project does not offer name changes. That's fine. However, I have the in-game name "Jeddite" on a Level 10 Paladin on Anathema, because the name was taken on Nostalrius. Nostalrius characters transfer to Anathem. Whoever had the name "Jeddite" on Nostalrius did not transfer to Nostalrius. So I am unable to rename my characters "Jedditelol" (Alliance-only account) or "Jeddites" (Horde-only account) because name changes are not offered. So on my Alliance-only account, I make a Level 10 Paladin named "Jeddite." Fast forward from ... December 2016 ... to June 24, 2017. With the Zeth'Kur transfers complete, I am not being prompted to rename "Jeddite" (which I can only assume is due to the transfer given the timing of it all), a name I've been in possession of since Anathema launched, but unable to use for one of my "mains" because the Elysium Project doesnt offer name changes. Again, fine. What's less than stellar, however, is being forced to change the name because some Zeth'Kur transfer had the name on Zeth'Kur. Mildly annoying ... since I'd be more than willing to make a donation to change one of my mains to "Jeddite", but now the name is getting jacked because ... reasons. /wah wah wah (c'mon Pottu ... help me out, bro-guy-dawg -- I expect this situation will occur to other Anathema/Elysium/Darrowshire "Day One" players, too)
  16. Screenshot from #discord. I guess this is the answer. Upgraded from mildly annoying to moderately annoying. Elysium: "We don't offer name changes. If you want to use a specific name in-game, you'll need to make a new character with the desired name." ** makes new character with the desired name ** Elysium: "If a character transferring from ZethKur has the same in-game name as a character as Elysium/Anathema/Darrowshire is higher level than the character with the same name already on Elysium/Anathema/Darrowshire, priority is given to the ZethKur character. And we still don't offer name changes." ** sheesh **

    Levelling in different zones

No, you wouldn't miss out on anything "important" unless you really, really, really care about maximizing your reputation gain with Darnassus (and it sounds like you don't).
  18. These threads are stupid. You didn't even mention any names. So you're just hoping somebody mentions you. Just make a thread asking for validation from e_strangers. Same difference.
  19. This is not an example of "ninja". Two players rolled 'NEED' on a BOE, and the other guy won the roll. That you wanted to use the item is irrelevant. That "The Priest" wanted to sell the item is irrelevant. Nothing was ninja'd. You feel entitled to an item because you can use it, the Priest feels entitled to the gold that could be obtained by selling said item. Two players rolled 'NEED', but only one player can win the roll. This should also be posted on the Elysium subforums (if you must post it at all). Here is a link to a GM post on the subject of "ninja looting". Feel free to disagree with my assessment (I'm correct, BTW -- so good luck) and take it up with a GM (prepare to be disappointed).

    New Player

There isn't a "better", unless you're going to specify circumstances. Just pick one. Or make one Alliance and one Horde. Good lord, you millennials and your incessant need to have your own decisions validated by total strangers who could not possibly know which (Warrior or Hunter) is more "fun" for you are an individual player. Also -- since you're going to ask. Anathema.

    NPCs wrong hostility vs neutral

It actually is normal behavior. The treants and Usanguinousousous (bear) are considered Alliance NPCs -- and they are aggressive towards aggressive beasts and humanoids (e.g. Ashenvale bears, furbolgs, and Horde players) just as guard NPCs do. "Working as intended."

    Auction House Spam

If the most simultaneously auctions you have listed is ~50, you're merely an AH dabbler. I consistently have 150+ unique items, on two accounts. That enchanting materials are not subject to an AH listing fee is the principle reason for people doing that whole 200 listing of a single [Strange Dust]. Adding a listing fee would likely resolve that matter more effectively, but "MUH NOT BLIZZLIKE".
  23. So the whole point of this screed is that you admit to modifying the game files -- and you were banned. But there are compromised accounts cluttering up chat channels and whispers with gold-seller spam -- and you're upset that those accounts were banned before you? This isn't a matter of which is worse -- despite your rage -- and nobody is going to argue your against your strawman ("WHICH IS WORSE -- MODIFYING THE GAME FILES OR GOLD SPAMMING"). It doesn't matter if other players have no issue with you using modified in-game models (I don't, speaking only for me) -- modifying the game files is against the ToU. You violated the ToU and were banned.
