I'm not in a group now, so there's no rolling. A stupid answer for your stupid question, enjoy it. -

Still retarded I see. Once again, what difference does it make if the gear improvement is direct or indirect? Answer the question, lol. -

Care to climb off your high white horse and define the "actual need"? -

I like where this thread is going. Tell us more, oh Sabre, about the sufferings that await those heretics who roll on BoEs! -
Yeah, that's probably where the problem was, thanks a lot.

@shirsig Apparently there's a little bug, aux considers items like Minor Recombobulator (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=4381) that has 10 charges as a stack of 10 items, so if it's on auction for 1g, it will show the price per item being 10s. Which kinda makes sense, but the problem is - vendor-profit auto-buy function will buy this item for 40s as if you could vendor each charge for for 6s. Thanks!

BOE needing is getting out of hand? (Horde: Elysium PvP)

Why? I mean, you wouldn't understand anyway, and for other people it's obvious. -

Why shouldn't I, if they are easily converted to each other? If your system was simpler, we wouldn't have all these threads about people "ninjaing" BoEs. Everyone rolling Need on BoE is simpler because you either win the roll or you don't, and that's it. Where do you see any complication here? And neither is your "MS > OS < Greed/DE" system, as I've shown above, so what's the point of bringing it up? Its irrelevant in the discussion about which system is better, since neither of them can achieve it fully. There was no "if" there, you were just trying to imply that my position somehow makes me a greedy person, which was neither logical nor fair, but whatever. The way I roll on dropped items depends on the loot rules of the group I'm in, but the default is Need on BoEs. -

You're basically saying poor people should earn more gold than rich ones. While I understand where its coming from, it's highly speculative. It doesn't work like that, even IRL, and for good reasons. One if them being that you can't tell how rich a player really is, because it could be an alt or whatever. Secondly, they are all in a group doing the same thing, basically earning some valuables. If a rich player didn't need that gold, he wouldn't be doing it in the first place, so dismissing his need as something unimportant isn't correct. Thirdly and finally, what about other scenario where a BoE drop is a gear upgrade for the rich player, when there are poor ones who can't equip it? Or what if there are two players for whom the dropped item is a gear upgrade, do you give it to the poorest one? Whether its the "Need on all BoEs" or the so called "Need before greed" system, it doesn't change the value distibution between poor and rich people not by one bit, so its an irrelevant argument. And also I think you realize that rolling based on investigating each player's wealth would be a mess. Doing what? Saying that people have the right to roll Need on BoEs and it would be better if everyone did it? How exactly does that make me greedy, personally? Do I get paid for that by a secret "BoE ninjas" community? The attempts to derail this discussion into judging personalities rather than principles are quite pathetic, frankly. Not really, because people don't have nearly as much incentive to roll Need on BoPs only to vendor them for a small amount of gold. It's very rare. You don't join a group worrying and expecting that people might take your BoP, as opposed to BoE. -

Yet nobody ever said that, so I guess you're just talking shit? Nope, disenchanting an item doesn't get you nearly as much value as wearing it, rolling need on BoP that isn't a gear upgrade for you is being a ninja (unless it's a genuine mistake). -

Haha, well let me roll Need and you roll Greed, but if your roll is higher than mine, I'll sure give it to you. :P -

@Justme, sorry but I'm not gonna argue with you any further until you succeed in making any sense. -
It's not a bug, it's just that instead of cat's claw sound serpents make this noise. I don't think you can get rid of it.

Hey, I don't really wanna derail this thread into retarded zone again. I press need for gold because I need it as much as everyone else, and it's better than greed because it prevents the possibility of a fuck up. Your comparison with guns is flawed because in WoW, everyone has this "gun" and can use it against you without any punishment. So yes, having a gun for yourself is a very good idea in that case. -

Hey, sometimes your posts make it difficult to get your point, while this post is just simply dumb. You do realize there's no difference between everyone rolling Need and everyone rolling Greed, except the latter allows someone to fuck everyone up by rolling Need instead? Dude, hope you're trolling. -

Forgive me in advance if language barrier made me misunderstand some of your points, but yes, I do think that with BoEs, greed button is useless. N/G system is useful for BoPs though, so I don't see how it gets invalidated. All I'm saying is that everyone needing on a BoE is driven by the same kind of avarice, each of party members would benefit equally so everyone should have equal chances for that item (which means rolling need). I am continuously challenging people to prove "tradable item = money = same need for everyone" point to be wrong simply because it would make arguing a lot easier. You would come up with some arguments, I'll then try to prove it wrong and we go from there. I do, however, believe, that one can't argue against this point because it's true, and no one yet has proven it wrong. The thing about system is, it's not nesessarily optimal as many people believe it is. We all know vanilla isn't perfect. And we also know all the definitions of Need and Greed in the context of WoW are made by someone. But what I'm arguing about is not someone's opinion or how the system of rolling in WoW was designed to work. I'm not arguing how it's supposed to work, I'm arguing how it should work from the logical point of view. You can see, then, how definitions of Need and Greed and arguments like "You only need items to equip it, if you sell it its greed" are irrelevant. People have thrown many definitions of need and greed, but they don't matter because there's clear game mechanics tied to these buttons and it speaks for itself. If you press Need, you will roll with others who did the same. If you press Greed, you will only roll if nobody pressed Need. That's it. So Need button is a "high priority" need, while Greed button is a "low priority" need. And I don't believe that some people should have a higher priority over the rest when it comes to BoE drops. Note that no one in this thread has said that everyone should roll "Need" on BoPs too, that's because it makes no sense. Everyone agrees that if someone needs an item more than the rest group members, then he should get it. This is not the case with BoEs, everyone needs it equally, therefore everyone rolls need. But with BoP everyone doesn't need it equally, which is again, something everyone agrees on. You can't get the same value from BoP that you can't equip than someone who can. So hope we're clear on that. You have described very well the problems people face with the so-called N/G system. These problems are gone if everyone just agreed to roll Need on any BoEs. If group members agree they roll Need on BoEs, there's no room for fucking someone over like that. Everything is clear, you either win the roll or you don't. There's no room for distrust or suspicion. That's because N/G is a restrictive system that says you shouldn't roll Need on BoEs you can't equip. Well what if I do? Others are screwed. N/G relies on trust, but it's difficult to rely on people in your pug group. Everyone rolling Need on BoEs isn't restrictive, you don't have to trust each other and it makes things much easier. -
Thank you!

Thanks, could you elaborate a bit please, would that delete the price history as well or is there a way to keep it?
-
Excuse me for a noob question, but which exactly savedvariables should I delete, Savedvariables.lua or Aux-addon.lua? And if the latter, is it the ones in account folder or the character folder? Because the account one contains all the historical data if I get it correctly, so wouldn't wanna lose that. PS: thanks for the great addons! PPS: Orwell is so obviously full of shit, your patience is great. PPPS: and since I'm here, another stupid question - what is the order of the pages Aux is scanning, is it chronological? So is the last page always the newest-added auctions?
