  1. This doesn't have anything to do with how much gold an item is worth. Just know that any BoE item is as valuable to you as it is to any other player. This is not the case with BoP however. The conclusion about how to act is up to you. No, you should only roll Need on BoE if you need it, in one way or another. There is no common default. As you can see, different people have completely different opinions on that matter, for whatever reason.
  2. This is hilarious. You're never gonna get someone to sell an item for LESS than he wants to sell it for either, so by that logic it should mean the market value is always above what people on average are willing to recieve for it. Which means there's a "grey area" of a price which satisfies both buyer and seller. This is how deals are done. So how exactly does that make the "actual value" any different from market value? It's the same thing. I see your point, but the conclusion you draw from it is simply wrong. Market value IS the average price of the item, and it's exactly how much the item is worth.
  3. I didn't quite get what you mean, but my point is that what Cephei about AH prices not being the real value is a nonsense, it contradicts itself. If you can buy or sell an item for average 100 gold, that's a pretty damn real value to me. In the example he mentioned one party was simply more informed about the prices than the other, hence the seemingly "imbalanced" prices.
  4. @Cephei That's an interesting perspective. That's a "poor people should earn more money" argument, which is not valid both IRL and in the game. It is completely irrelevant, but even if it was, you don't know someone's wealth based just on their class, some people have multiple characters to begin with, and not all people earn gold by farming. So you're saying prices on AH are not fixed and are fluctuating? Who could've thought that... But it goes both ways, sometimes things are sold for more than their average market value, sometimes for less. This doesn't change the fact that any player has the same opportunity to buy something at certain price as other player - to sell it. So this: Is simply not true. It's not inevitable and you have equal chance of you gaining gold instead of losing it. You're assuming the tank A knows the exact market value of an item and will never spend more for it. Yet at the same time you assume that seller B doesn't know the market value. Well guess what, whoever knows more about prices is at an advantage. When both parties are equally well informed, the price in their deal can fluctuate both ways as I said above. The ONLY difference is the auction 5% cut, which I didn't mention before because it's negligible, but you don't even have to trade via AH at all, so it's not a problem in any case.
  5. Just wanna bump this thread because it's almost as ridiculous as the one about Beerwizzard. Funny stuff.
  6. It's very nice that you like passing valuable items that are basically big amounts of gold to strangers, however nobody can be obliged to do that neither be shamed for not doing that. But then again, if you have read the whole thread and still write something like that, you are most likely hopeless.

    Ninjalooter: Toko

Great, this is the kind of evidence you provide to call someone a ninja, not just a video of a guy recieving an item. I'm definitely happy now, thanks.
  8. Because tanks are the most important people ever and everyone should pass anything to them, right?
  9. Yep, I believe this thread is a real treasure of this forum and needs to be sticked at the main page. A magnificent display of human stupidity.

    Ninjalooter: Toko

This is getting ridiculous. A priest got a SP staff, how terrible. You're publicly framing him as a ninja because of that, but he might: 1) Need it if his primary spec is shadow. 2) Just be a new player who saw a good staff that will be an upgrade for him. Yes, there are new players in vanilla. And all you get as a "proof" is a video of him getting it. No chatlog of what was before, no info on what was after. I call it a bullshit thread.
  11. That's great, you're trying to be constructive, I appreciate it. Well, if the 15% auction cut is the problem, allow me to resolve it - it's actually 5%, not 15%, so it's quite negligible. But nice try though! If it's a good item, it will be worth more on AH, and so it will to you if you wear it. If it's a bad item, it will be worth less on AH, but so it would to you. So no, the quality of a BoE item doesn't change the fact everyone needs it equally. Note that I never said you should vendor them, unless the vendor price equals its real value which I doubt is ever the case. Please do try and answer the question. How am I greedy for saying everyone should roll "Need" for any BoE? Thank you.

arrows and bullets, no damage improvements

Arcane shot has magic damage, for example, so I'm sure it won't depend on the type of arrows you are using.
  13. No, because you did ask for loot rules and if no one replied and never stated them, you can't be blamed for this. But seeing how some people are irrationally mad about such things, I do understand you concern. But I don't think there could be a definite conclusion for you here, some people will tell you to never roll need for something you can't wear, but it's up to you to decide.

    Hunter Macros & Tips [Redux]

Hey, any advice is always appreciated. Thank you, I was a bit confused by how Rais addon displayed the autoshot timer after my instant spells.
  15. That's a fair point though, but I think that forum crybabies make their opinion look far more popular than it actually is. Also, I do recommend you to read the thread about Beerwizzard, I know its 10 pages already, but it might alter you opinion on such things.
  16. Well, look, if nobody cares, you might as well do yourself a favor and roll "Need" on any BoE to get some extra items. If someone is agaist that, they sure will tell you when you ask for a loot rules.
  17. If you really want to make sure no one gets mad, just ask for the loot rules whenever you join a group or a raid.
  18. This pretty much sums up this thread. You don't need to post anything anymore, Fapmonsoon.

I have a noob question. Does using instant-cast abilities during autoshot wind-up delay the autoshot?
  20. Toxis towards dumb fucks like you, yes. Now, please anwser the question.
  21. I thought this thread was a good idea at first. But now, seeing how you add people there for some nonsense, I think that's a pile of shit. Sorry.
  22. How am I greedy for saying everyone should roll "Need" for any BoE? You dumb fuck.
  23. It's true, when no loot rules are declared, it's by default "Need" on any BoE. But if everyone agreed to not do that, then of course not keeping your own word would be a dishonorable thing to do and could be considered as ninja looting.
  24. So you're saying because Blizzard implemented those changes people shouldn't roll "Need" on BoEs in vanilla? First of all, that's not the case. And secondly, if Blizzard are such an authority to you, how come you play on a private 1.12 server? Blizzard don't want you to do that, please play retail.
  25. Alright, but how is this relevant to the topic? If you can't roll need on BoE, you don't. In our version of the game, however, you can and you should. This adds nothing to the discussion.
