    AQ40

In 2-3 months racials and paladins/shamans things will be even more irrelevant than they already are right now. If you still consider they matter to do a 11 years old encounter with BiS or close to BiS gear on 40 ppl with 1.12 talents then stay ignorant I guess.

    AQ40

You were saying Alliance got more tries on C'thun because of racials. To backup your statement you should look into how many attempts per faction in total, not the amount of attempts / guilds and draw conclusions out of that. You need to understand out of the 5 horde guilds (it's actually double the amount at least who attempted it, just saying) you have a bunch with 8+ attempts on the encounter. Let me laugh at your "tested AQ" parts, considering very very few guilds got to test C'thun (1 horde 1 ally that I'm 100% sure about) and everything is on the repo. Stop trying to make it appear as if C'thun is alliance favored either for the encounter itself or reaching it. There are plenty of horde guilds who attempted it before a bunch of ally guilds, mastered and killed it. Even then if you keep thinking alliance is favored, suck it, man up and go kill it like most of the decent horde guilds already did.

    AQ40

I laughed. Getting a "over 2x more allys that are attempting C'thun then hordes" out of nowhere. Nice one. Maybe go check raid logs 99% guilds upload on 1 or 2 websites to get actual numbers before stating such things xD

    AQ40

Saying C'thun is a facton sided encounter is a mistake. It's all about discipline and control. Racials or shamans/paladins have little to no impact. You're fooling yourself if you consider it has relevance. Alliance side has more guilds able to perform what's required for this encounter than horde side. It's that simple. Saying the difference in number of guilds who managed to kill C'thun is due to racials and shamans/paladins is super bad attempt at excusing guilds failing. Did you wipe on this fight because you didn't have BoP or any other blessings ? Did you wipe because your str totem wasn't in range of 2 players ? Did you keep on wiping because you didn't have Fear Ward ? Stop trying to make it appear like an alliance favored encounter. It's clearly not what matters to defeat C'thun, at all.

    Elysium vs. Anathema?

More than half the raiding guilds on the realm are progressing through AQ40. There are quite a few guilds who are recruiting for BWL progression still and will keep on recruiting later on to start AQ40 once they consider they are ready for it. You have way more available content and options depending on what you want to do as a new player than on Elysium. If you want to get carried and grab some PvP gear, you can do that. If you want to join guild progressing into AQ40, you can do that. If you prefer doing MC like on Elysium and starting to progress into BWL at your rhythm whenever, you can do that too. If you just want to do 20 man raids, it's a possibility as well. It's no rocket science : more available content > more options for whatever a new player wants to do with his play time.

    AQ40

There is no alliance > horde for C'thun. This is a very bad attempt at explaining why one side is doing worse than another. "Limited support via totems". I'm sorry but you shamans just need to position their totems correctly and their effect will apply to everyone in their party. It's clearly a L2P issue here. The reason alliance side has more C'thun kills than horde is simply due to the fact alliance guilds are more disciplined and this encounter isn't about zerging, which is a bad habit most horde guilds have gotten over the course of months. Should we mention UD shadow resi racial which is stronger than whatever alliance has for entire AQ40 ? Or troll berserking and orc blood fury for nuking during vuln phase on C'thun ? You also have Warchief Blessing which is not available to alliance. 15% melee haste. If anything alliance doesn't have it easier than horde, it's quite the other way around actually.

    Elysium vs. Anathema?

You will quickly get bored of farming Molten Core once you struggled to reach max level on Elysium. Every raiding guild on Anathema is recruiting players of each class. You will get geared faster and experience way more relevant content. Excluding Onyxia, you only have 1 40 man raid and 0 20 man raids on Elysium. Anathema has 3 40 man raids and 2 20 man raids. You're saying you'd like to join few pug raids. Then Anathema is the choice. There are MC, ZG, AQ20 pugs literally every day for almost every timezone. There are few weekly BWL pug as well and I know there is/will be 1 AQ40 pug too in a matter of weeks. It's basically as if you had the choice of going into an overcrowded restaurant that provides 1 type of meal for 2 years on its menu or going into one that already offers 5 (BWL, ZG, AQ40, AQ20 are not available on Elysium which also implies a lot of game improvements, items, stats update, etc. are on Anathema but not on Elysium.) different meals and will few more soon. PvP happens on both servers in BGs and outdoor. If you're a casual gamer as you say, you better roll on Anathema as you will get up to speed gear wise way faster (via pug runs from several available raids as explained above) than on Elysium where you will have to commit to a raiding schedule for a guild and wait ages before you get a valuable pvp item (that you will roll for or get easier because others don't need it on Anathema). To those thinking Elysium realm is the flagship of the project : I'm sorry to open your eyes but Nost PvP/Anathema is the spine of it regardless of what you or the staff thinks. The popularity this project got came directly from formerly called Nost PvP and not from Elysium realm. Elysium realm is actually the Youtube server created to host hype train type of players. Its population is made of the crowd of youtube hero followers jumping from project to project more than anything. Go check for yourself on the repo, the players contributing to fixing bugs and improvements to the servers are largely from Anathema, not Elysium.

"Mid tier DPS" just an urban myth?

You really should not base your conclusions off that AQ40 run where mobs had insane resistances and armor values. Should not rely on Raidstats logs either when it comes to pet dps addition or not to their owners since it is extremely unreliable and buggy depending on what 40 ppl syncing Swstats chose as option for pet dps merging or not. With normal resistances and armor values, casters will outshine every physical dps achetypes (yes, even fury warriors, since they are to offtank on a lot of trash & bosses) in the last raid tiers and hunters are bottom of them. That being said you can shit on average/bad melees if you're good and competition with hunters can be quite fierce. First raids of each raid tier have Hunters perform well, because they take the least damage, usually die last, have no threat issues and are masters at keeping their buffs when others don't because of a wipe and thanks to the low cooldown on Feign Death. If you look at first MC & BWL clears across several realms you will notice hunters rock in progression raids and when the instance is cleave AND/OR ranged friendly. If you understand your class well and tryhard it in a fitting raiding environment (example : your healers have pet raid frames, make sure they are buffed and healed when needed) you will pull out satisfying numbers. Especially on trash which are the real deal in vanilla. Looking at boss dps only is quite a big mistake vanilla communities constantly make. Trash + Boss avg dps values across several weeks is where it's at. Nobody cares about your boss dps if you are afk, slacking on most of the trash packs or pet ass pulling in the instance. It's the same as only looking at healing meters to evaluate a healer, it's very dumb since it doesn't take into account buffing, ressing, CCing, dispelling, totem twisting, fear warding, positioning, situation awareness, etc. Your role also goes far beyond being a dps turret in raids. If you don't tranq properly it doesn't matter if you're pulling out good numbers : you are a dead weight. If you are able to kite one or several mobs in a raid when told to (or better, anticipate it) as well as pull at the ideal pace for your raid you're already worthy to bring into every raid tier. As you already said, you're also having top level giggles in BGs and wPvP :)

    Hello Mafia, Good Bye Mafia.

    //popcorn anyone ?
  10. It wasn't aimed at your or your guild specifically. Each has its own experience, goals, requirements, playstyles, raid leading, etc. I was just trying to say the real good stuff about AQ40 is that its content requires more than just gear, 1.12 talents and game knowledge. Thus, guilds on this server will enjoy progressing through it way more and for longer than they used to in BWL for instance. So there is absolutely no need to overtune the raid if it's difficult enough, you reckon ? Just looking at Ouro designed pre-nerf here, good luck if you intend to ignore what an addon tells you to dodge :D

    <Coalition> EU Nostalrius PvP

It's because we are shit players in essence. It's just the rest of the server is below tier 3 potato guilds. Thanks for the bump though =)
  13. What's your point ? You're just derailing a thread again to serve your own agenda. You're saying if spell coefficients were closer to what they should be, min maxing guilds would now magically beat the boss mechanics ? Because what i just said is that It's not a matter of spell coefficient or gear. Half the spells in what you linked aren't even used on a boss like Skeram. Anyways come back when you are 9/9 before asking to buff up anything in a raid 90% of the raiding guilds on this server don't even clear as of now.
  14. What his "vulnerable phase" means is that he is simply taking normal damage as opposed to close to no damage at all when not weakened from killed tentacles inside the stomach.
  15. Actually you can see a lot of guilds on this server min maxing on gear with top notch BiS pieces every slot, fully and properly enchanted while using a perfect debuffs list, who are somehow still struggling on a lot of AQ40 trash/bosses because they think they can just power through and ignore most mechanics. Just look at the amount of wipes Skeram caused on raidstats for most guilds. I'd die to get the official data on Attempts:Kill ratio for this single boss server wide, which is the very first boss of the raid and yet it is showing itself as quite a challenge.
  16. We never had this bug / interaction either. Keep note though that Coalition's full clear was with insanely high resistances and armor on mobs (I'm unsure if it was trash and/or bosses, but remembering how our casters were hyped af when getting an actual spell hit instead of chain resists or partials, seems it was close to everything in the raid.
  17. I believe there are at least 2 things to differentiate here : - The possible bug from PI interaction with Combustion / Ignite / AP, pick your poison. - The "blizzlike" bug with Ignite that allows you to ramp up its dmg if you keep on critting fire spells before the 1st tick of dmg (since it refreshes the DoT duration, it can go up to insane amounts until mages stop critting kinda). Blizzard has considered this to be a bug with the mechanic itself, hence why they gave every mage their OWN ignite debuff in TBC and didn't bother fixing the original Ignite. The latter is just how the spell sadly works in vanilla. The first isn't and has been intentionally (ab)used in some cases apparently.
  18. But you did say current struggles are due to resistances, which isn't the case since barely 3-4 guilds were inside AQ40 when the bug was in there. They are simply due to the content in its prenerf state. Content is relevant enough atm considering amount of 9/9 guilds. Why bother buffing it up further when most guilds still don't clear it, I don't understand ?
  19. No I don't think you understand what they did to mobs with resistances before reverting it since it was a bug. Your casters would simply quit playing. Stop saying it's too easy until you actually see most raiding guilds clear the content on a regular basis without needing 3-4 raiding evenings or more than 1 reset to be honest.
  20. Don't think you guys realize 400+ resistances and 8K armor on everything actually means. Your casters will quit the game. More HP on bosses/trash is just gonna make the raid longer to clear for 90% of mobs in it. Just check raid logs since few days and come back see if you still say content is too easy. Are your guilds 9/9 even yet ?
  21. There's no point buffing up HP of trash and/or bosses as of now. The content is difficult enough for the vast majority of raiding guilds. I have seen guilds not getting past certain combination of abilities from Anubisath Defenders and don't know how to deal with it. Most bosses in vanilla raids are piece of cake apart from few endbosses for each raid tier. These are the bosses which matter most. And for now they are representing quite a challenge for the playerbase if you look at the amount of Ouro / C'thun / Twins kill few days after the raid is available. Don't expect that amount for C'thun to go over 1/4 of the raiding guilds which entered AQ40 even after 7 days of raiding.
  22. No, the high resistances and armor got removed shortly after Coalition cleared the entire raid. The current struggles are without the buffed up resistances & armor amounts. Most wipes seem to occur on bosses so trash packs aren't that relevant here. Guilds don't have "0 problems doing the bosses". It's actually quite the opposite. http://imgur.com/a/cuuNg
  23. Just look at the past days AQ40 raid logs and you will see what I'm talking about. A large majority of raiding guilds are progressing on Skeram which is by no means the hardest boss in the instance. You can assume if you chain wipe on Skeram you will also chain wipe and for way longer on Twins, Ouro and C'thun. There is no need to buff the HP of bosses and/or trash. Amount of 9/9 guilds next wednesday will be around 10, which is not a lot compared to the total amount of raiding guilds on the realm. If you mastered a fight mechanics then more HP will just make the encounters longer. Only actual difficulty would lie within enrage timers and make Ouro, C'thun, Huhuran and Skeram harder.
  24. For your information Killerduki, if they kept all the trash mobs at absurd resistances and 8K armor (even applying to Twins encounter trash, trash packs in between Twins & C'thun and ALL tentacles) like we had right after Gates opened, every single raiding guild would have complained about it. Nobody would keep playing a caster. The content would require so much consumables and time that 90% raiding guilds would burn out. I don't think you realize the difficulty of AQ40 in a standard blizzlike pre-nerf state. Good luck on C'thun and Ouro :) You can just look up on Raidstats the amount of wipes on bosses and trash very decent guilds got and how much time it took them to even reach C'thun as well as fully clear the raid. Most of them needed 2 entire raiding evenings and as far as I know, C'thun hasn't even been killed by half the raiding guilds on this server. The game is not hard and it's on your shoulders to find and setup yourself/your guild some challenges to make it more interesting. Tanking raids as a protection paladin is one for instance (this isn't offensive, don't get me wrong).
