you don't need to take the gold for report, imo.

Why does Elysium staff refuse to take this suggestion?
Fladrif replied to kingtut's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Why do you think that everything except end-game sucks? I enjoy every single level. I'm not running a marathon for endgame content. -
I think that Firestone + wand (fire damage) should be quite OP. I would even invest those 2 TP in the demonology tree.

----Create a monopoly over an item X by exploiting the game mechanic that prevents same-faction players from attacking you. ----Set a fixed price for it (26g). -----Sell gold for real money by trading item X to your customer and asking him to sell it on AH for 25g. ----By trading 4 items, you've sold 100 gold. And none will notice it. Safe goldselling. ----Pay someone with real money to secure your monopoly: you ask them to be ready to login&gank/(and exploit the mechanics that prevents players from attacking same-faction) at different hours. Nobody else should be able to influence the price of item X. Sell gold ( that you don't even have to farm ) w/o risks. That's why monopoly is wrong.
-
GoldSelling: what is stopping you from doing the same exact thing? Are they abusing or exploiting a function of the game that others cannot? No, but perma-ban is the answer. The problem with the monopoly is that they could decide the price of a trade-good item that none is allowed to farm (25g for example). Then they could sell 100g for $17 by trading 4 items in-game and none will notice it. Why players can't solve it? Because if they make money out of it, they can actually pay people to farm and monopolize that resource.

The problem is:---》 if there's a monopoly on an item and they keep the price at 25g, they can sell 100g for $17 by trading 4 items. None will catch them. The bad stuff is: ---》 wPvP is ruined because unlike every other zones my allies won't support me in the fight against the horde.

No. You can't easily compete. You have to setup a monopoly yourself and if someone makes real money out of it, there are no chances you could compete by playing in your spare times.
-
Stop trolling the thread with the cross- factions communication thing. Nobody gives a shit and the thread will be closed. The real problem here is the monopoly: The mechanics by which I can't attack same faction players should not be exploited to setup a monopolio: if by any chance they earn real money from it, they'll have more resources than anyone else in protecting their business (because they're paid for it). if there's a monopoly on an item and they keep the price at 25g, they can sell 100g for $17 by trading 4 items. None will catch them.

Co-ops is one thing. Monopoly by co-ops is another. There are circumstances in which it's evident without doubts that they're circumventing the game's mechanics: for example, when they whisper you "GTFO or you'll be ganked and corpse-camped" If they setup a monopoly on an item and they keep the price at 25g, they can sell 100g for $17 by trading 4 items. None will notice it. Faster and safer than using bots.

Essentially, you're sayin' that the average player is bound to use an external software to bypass a specifically made game-limitation in order to play the above-mentioned game. Firestone doesn't increase fire damage and has a very low proc rate. At the present moment, you can do more damage with a wand and that's enough to put the firestones in the Kitchen Waste Bin with "Enslave Demon". Imho, if they can't even offer some more dps than the mere stats that you get with a staff... they're useless. I think that this is a bug.

HOW MANY GUILDS DOES IT TAKE TO STOP IRON EDGE!
Fladrif replied to Shayss's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Of course, all of those who have a personal interest in making the community consider it as "legit", "awesome" and "fun" will do so. Their arguments are essentially built on the fact that this "mafia" requires a dedicated effort to be eradicated and so it was tolerated most of the time. Unlike gold-selling, nobody gives a shit about this problem. As you can see, I'm the only one here trying to point at this... and I'm not even interested in farming leathers there! If none cares, the problem doesn't exist. I would like to see this behaviour to be -at least- officially condemned because it can lead to exploits (people could sell in-game goods for real money by monopolizing their farming). "We cannot monitor or police how people communicate outside the game ... so we decide that it's legit to cooperate with the opposite faction -and thus to bypass a central game's mechanic" Why can't you just give us cross-faction chat since it's allowed? In my opinion, it will be super-fun and lead to amazing wPVP. -

How could we know that there's no money involved? And how could we know that tomorrow a chinese enterprise will not adopt this system to sell gold? I've shown that the mechanics of the cross-faction contract make really easy to setup a business with real money involved: in fact, Blizzard created a game in which it was impossible to communicate with the other faction. This was done for a reason. The fact that the game limits can be annihilated by using a simple external chat doesn't mean that cross-faction contracts should be accepted as "the old good mechanics": they're not. This is not "like real war" kid: it's just a game. Are you asking to anyone who wants to farm this resource to setup contracts with the other faction? Essentially, you're sayin' that the average player is bound to use an external software to bypass a specifically made game-limitation in order to play the above-mentioned game. Why not just allow cross-faction chat in game? -

It's not about a faction controlling a resource, but a cross-faction alliance to exploit that resource. A cross-faction alliance generates a peculiar monopoly that could very easily lead to a situation in which the monopoly asks real money to players for farming resources. And those transactions cannot be tracked like the ordinary gold-sellers. Imagine that a player offers real money to the so-called "mafia" to let him farm leathers for 2 hrs. This would be against the rules: in fact Elysium does not condone the trade of virtual (...) services (...) originating from the Game (...) for real money outside of the Game. GMs can spot goldsellers, but they can do nothing to prevent a player from paying dollars to the mafia... how could you know that a player paid2win ? He will effectively buy gold without being banned. Is this the game that you would like to play? P.S. I don't have ingame characters above level 40. -

Fladrif replied to Shayss's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I can't deny that from a sociological point of view, I find this "contract" extremely fascinating, but... Elysium does not condone the trade of virtual goods or services appearing or originating from the Game, or any other attributes associated with an account or any component thereof for real money, or exchange those items, currencies or services for value outside of the Game. And this alliance-horde cooperation is a safe and viable method to avoid the risks of gold-selling. :-) -

Fladrif replied to Shayss's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Let's say that a group of horde players could be paid with real money by an alliance player to let him farm some leather. GMs will do nothing mainly because they can't even prove the transaction... and they'll do nothing because they agreed that horde-alliance cooperation is fine. This is worse than goldselling. -

What I don't like is the fact that players of different factions cooperate and communicate ---> this is SHIT. This is not how the game is supposed to be played. This is the same as gold-selling, but the staff won't do anything (nor even address this thing as a problem) because most of the community simply don't care. Solution: community sensitization -
Non credo, Lawwo. Tutte le gilde italiane vanno sempre nell'Orda.

http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=13699 According to this database, the firestone should give bonus fire damage. There's a specific talent in demonology tree named "Improved Firestone" which "Increases the bonus fire damage from firestones (..)". If the firestone doesn't increase fire damage, it's just a bug.

Elysium PvP - Devilsaur leather at 27,50g per piece / cornered market / mafia
Fladrif replied to Maynard's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I don't like the idea of players of different factions that communicate and monopolize an entire area: it's pure shit. -
It's pointless. Relying on this type of addons lead to misunderstanding of the support role of druids, paladins and shamans. Thus, it ruins gameplay for those classes.
-
Yes, but we do more damage with a good wand than with a dagger :-S I think there should be some bonus for fire damage as the spell description says...
