I hope they do this honestly. I'd really like people to have to 'take what they get'. Maybe do drop-ship style ques.. whereas every minute, it grabs all the people currently in que and tries to organize them into the best possible match-making. Then waits a full minute, and does another match. And if you drop que? You get deserter. Period. You're locked in for the ride.
  5. As an alliance paladin who hit 60 RIGHT before Nostalrius went down: It's because being 60 doesn't mean they can win. A coordinated group of geared players will always (easily) kick the shit out of a coordinated group of ungeared players. Even if the ungeared players are slightly more skilled and have better ping. To put the math on this into perspective: - I am a Holy Paladin who heals for about 1.9K per Holy Light every 2.5 seconds -- you have to understand that a fresh 60 paladin heals for closer to: Holy Light (Rank 8) Heals a friendly target for 1246 to 1389. +550 healing. Further, I have the mana to do nothing but spam Holy Light for roughly 30 seconds non-stop, -without- getting any mana back from crits. If I have a warrior on my side -- and I am up against a warrior and another healer (say a shaman) who is a fresh 60? ... They're going to get steam-rolled by pure stats before you even consider the fact that I've been PvPing, non-stop, close to 8-hours per day since Elysium started. The thing is? *My* actions (regardless of how much better or more skilled that shaman may be) is worth something like 2/5th's more effective than his.. so he'd have to be almost TWICE as effective/skilled as someone (I.E. he'd have to be getting two actions and spells off in globals in the time it takes me to get off ONE..) ... and that isn't really possible to even *consider* unless it was someone playing such a class for a first time.. AND the other player lives /right/ next to the server for less lag. So if you see some people wearing PvE T1 running away from a bunch of people with Ashkandi and PvP epics... horde or alliance? That's why. Because corpse-camping is the favorite past-time of guilds with grudges. ---- This is because Ednigma was messing with the Devilsaur Cartel: Here's people wiping out Ednigma's guild's world buffs because he was fucking with the Devilsaur Cartel And here is Ednigma being kicked out of his guild because his guild was unable to complete BWL without raid-buffs, wiping 6 times on Vale -- and they don't want Ednigma's vendetta with the Devilsaur Cartels to continue spilling over into guild business (2017-02-23): http://realmplayers.com/GuildViewer.aspx?realm=Ana&guild=Ruines&view=latestevents People run for good reason on Vanilla servers. Being corpse-camped wastes time. It delays your group/party. It raises people's blood pressure. Newbies (pre-60's) who see level 60's fleeing from the field don't really realize a lot of the shit that's going on behind the scenes, or in the 60's party.. or on their discords or voice-coms. Protecting your questing zone is not usually a level 60's reason for being there. Sometimes there's a rare-spawn nearby. Sometimes it's Devilsaur leather. Sometimes they want to corpse-camp ONE guy for revenge and are waiting for their buddies to get there. Sometimes? We run away, and lead 8 people into a 15 man Ambush from behind a tree. Sometimes? We're legitimately running for our lives. >D Wearing T1 gear isn't enough to fight full BWL geared PvPers. Sometimes? Wearing full BWL gear isn't enough. I wouldn't judge the horde to harshly. I see and saw Alliance doing the same thing all the time. When you're lower level; and don't have an epic mount? When you aren't in on their comms? A lot of times you just can't get the full story, or history behind why people are doing stuff.

Has this really devolved to name-calling now? If you start with that, they're going to lock the thread man. That has no place in an honest discussion and doesn't even accomplish anything except let people know you're easily triggered. Don't give people the satisfaction; regardless of if you agree or disagree with an individual in the thread. Sarcasm is one thing. Throwing names is silly.

I honestly have no idea, given I'm not a mage -- but I am not a fan of the tactic. Maybe it's allowed, to be a possible counter to grief-tagging on slow-farming mobs by people with better ping but having a quest proves legitimacy? I do know that some people's class features and basic abilities require them to complete quests. I have no idea if any of them are escorts, but it may generally be designed as a protection for newbies-- if people can camp Devilsaurs? People could probably be convinced camp the warrior island near Ogrimmar and deprive a guild of getting warriors with all their stances. And you can't even counter-gank with an alliance raid, because you don't have to be PvP flagged to sheep the quest mobs over and over and interfere with some of the quests; so you couldn't even counter it by bringing Alliance over to kill the offender. ("Give us 300 gold, and you'll be allowed to finish this quest and get your stance quest done for your guild." -- and you know SOMEONE would do that shit. :-P ) That kinda shit. Vanilla's an imperfect game, so it's understandable -some- protections have to be in place to protect the leveling process. But I'm honestly just stabbing in the dark on that one though as I've never leveled a warrior; but I hear those guys have it harsh.

It's actually to buy the 20 Flasks of Supreme Power, 20 flasks of the titans (over 100 gold each), etc. (As in.. EVERY member of the guild needs 20 of each -- not just for the casters buying supreme power; warriors too -- because they go to the guild bank, every member has to do it, not going to an individual person) required by the top raid guilds for AQ's opening. Along with many, many, many other consumables on the consumable list for AQ progression as many guilds vie for server firsts, and gearing up primary raids so they can gear up secondary raids and alts. If you're a warrior .. and your guild tells you that you need to buy 2000 gold worth of flasks or you may not get a raid spot over someone who helped the guild out... where are you going to farm? Some guilds don't sell their sulfurion ingots to get that shit. They'd rather make Hand of Rag for the prestiege. Welcome to Progression Servers. It has nothing to do with "Gold Selling".. but people who cannot currently clear BWL, and weren't clearing it on initial release may not understand exactly how elitist some of the best guilds to be in actually are. It's easy to dominate Un'goro (and other locations, such as Blasted Lands, the Arcanite Bar Market, and so-on) if you are even remotely willing to cooperate with other players who are in a position to do so with you. It is however difficult for the majority of this server to kill Nefarian, regardless of how easily the top 20 guilds on it may clear him. That's about.. 800 people.. out of 5000+ depending on the time of day.. who don't bring raid consumables, elixers, MP5 Food and unwittingly wipe their raids through sheer lack of stats: Having BIS from the previous tier isn't enough to clear safely, easily or quickly. Sound familiar to anyone -- even if you bring consumables.. have you been inspecting the person next to you? That guy who's 5th on your 'Effective Healing' list? < NOPE > already has all the gold they can actually fit onto an individual characters, and all the mats they need for AQ. Other guilds are now filling the gap when they got bored waiting. And while a majority of you wait for AQ to come out, so you can get cheap quest epics from Cenarian Circle, and easy gear out of AQ20 to help you down Nefarian ... some people are doing what they have to do to clear content while it's still relevant. It was the same way in retail on my server, Nathrezim / Reckoning Battlegroup -- and it's part of Anathma's (Nostalrius's) server history.. and part of why many people intentionally choose to come to this server. I leveled up to 60 only a few weeks before Nostalrius shut down and was devestated by it's loss because I hadn't even reached a point where my gear let me participate in it. Two months of work from there, and I've been active with the PvP and raid crowd, and am finally able to fight these battles in the world by making myself known amongst PvPers, and being invited based on my reputation amongst them. TLDR: I wanted the intense competition Vanilla back on US Nathrezim PvP provided me. I got it on Nostalrius/Anathama. Sometimes I win. A lot of times I don't; but when I don't? I figure out what happened and I bring more grenades, potions, consumables and more friends. There is a PvE server for people who do not want to have to fight over resources in the world of Azeroth to get their Pre-raid BEST IN SLOT. If Best In Slot isn't worth fighting over.. I don't know what is. It's your gateway to epics. People who get those epics tend to want to use them to smash people over the head with them. Hense PvP. Welcome to Every RPG ever. Diremaul East duo, and Diremaul East solo are how I paid for my epic mount and pre-raid BIS.

Totally understand Pottu. I thank-you for your work in regards to this. Not all of our opinions on the matter are (nor can they be in the circumstances) universal; it's the internet. But that's also the essence of the discussion about the rules clauses referenced, and why we are trying to clarify, publicly, what is and isn't shady -- including the 100 gold herb that spawns in every AV we open up every 12 minutes like clockwork while in "premade". There are a large number of people who rush to it.. and /AFK out on AV week-end. "Don't que unless you're willing to play the game." would apply here.. but the damage they do to us by doing that is enough to get them kicked out of groups, and minuscule enough that nobody (other than the autists who didn't get the herb before they did) bother reporting them over: - Using Mindquickening Gem to Loot the herb. - Using Hand of Edward the Odd to loot the herb. (I hear this is hilarious when in a 1 on 1 fight with a member of the enemy faction) - Using BoP to keep people they don't like from looting the herb. - Using Divine Intervention to keep someone from looting the herb while their friend grabs it. (Which prevents them from pushing into the frost-mage gauntlet.) Stuff people (ab?)use, and people can't avoid having done to them when they're in the BG Raid. Not that I believe it's wrong ... for multiple reasons. One? NONE of these guys ... are participating in what the BG is actually about. Killing the horde and smashing the Frostwolf general. Nobody is entitled to an herb in a place where the loot is on FFA loot by necessity. I think some 55 grabbed an Edge Master's Handguard recently when a 60 killed a Winterblood Troll elite on the graveyard. lol. But because it's there by design and instances are cleared every 15 minutes ... it's hard for people to tell the difference between fucking off in one battleground, and fucking off in another. I am not a herbalist. (American edit: 'a herbalist' is correct.) But everyone knows about this stuff. The micro-wars. Who-hates-who over X-herb argument from last week; and these likewise sometimes dictate PvP politics. Everyone's seen the arguments, and discussed strategies publicly for getting 'the black lotus'. "Why would the herb be in there if we weren't supposed to spend time to go get it?" "If we weren't allowed to drop que, why wouldn't they just make it so we get deserter? They made it so we can't que for multiple BGs." -- The obvious solution in my eyes is making it so that once the que pops? Abandoning it causes deserter. That way people who accidentally que into AV on AB week-end when looking for "The Alliance Brigadier General" don't end up deserter when they end up in an AV que that will not pop until AB week is over. Sure, punish the people who did it -- but if it's viewed as an exploit.. leaving the loop-hole unscripted feels like bad policy in my eyes and history -- as always -- repeats itself. By your post (@Pottu) ... This does not the first time someone has used this "strategy" and the staff seem well-versed in it. It also prevents people from even being able to say that 'enforcement is selective' as has been insinuated multiple times in this thread. (I don't agree that's the case - I am virtually sure there is a (perfectly legitimate) assumption of innocence any time there is a fog-of-war or language barrier that prevents evidence from being gathered... but I am less experienced in the history of this population than some of the people who regularly beat that drum, and whom have beat that drum before this issue occurred; so my opinion is not respected by those entrenched on that matter.)

For the record, from anyone looking in: Kalantal was not amongst those banned, because he did not participate in the practice and was not ranking at the time. His motivations for being involved cannot be confused for anything but having pure intentions and wanting to keep there from being future problems several generations from now.
  14. Heglamore

    BG dodging

Exactly what Kalantal said. I think some of the people within this thread fail to recognize what the term "systemic" means, and that every person within the system has a -different- idea as to what "shady" is.

    BG dodging

Some people who had nothing to do with the que-dodging legitimately got screwed over that, Pottu. (The Kalantal GM screen shot) Likewise, there was at least one GMs who had contacted Chigga midway through the week and said: "There sure are a lot of reports going on about you. Is something wrong?" Not a one actually told him something was wrong when the process of what people were doing was explained to the game-master who contacted him. Just like screen-shots of the GM response was screen-shotted by Kalantal and posted on the BR1/BR2 Discord channel. This is not that I don't fully agree with the stance of the GM's about the dodging -- I believe the dodging is cancerous and ridiculous and became systemic (though every individual who participated in it even briefly are individually responsible for our own conduct; it was going on for more than a week) -- but the specific clause within the rules that you referenced is "organized killing for honor"; and I think that should be clarified. The only way I can fit what the Alliance pre-mades were doing into that box within my understanding of the English Language was us setting Alliance PUGs up in such a way that they can be mowed down by enemy pre-mades as they come in late in the match that alliance dodged out of and have no method of putting the fight back on even footing, due to being outnumbered (as the BG fills slowly with PUGs), disorganized (pre-existing disadvantage of not being on VOIP) and often under-geared (pre-existing disadvantage). I just think that rule needs an additional clause added. Because while I think everyone knew something janky was up that needed to change (and was often loudly argued about) -- I don't think anyone would have applied it to that rule specifically; although for all I know? That clause was reached for ... as a mercy, and a pointed warning rather than simply destroying the souls of people who's lives had become a soulless numbers meta-game for months. The problem is there were signs the GM knew what was going on for over a week and if people believed their accounts were in danger, they certainly wouldn't have been doing it. An unbanned account generates far more honor per hour than a banned one. The evidence had convinced a majority of the people participating in those premade that things were Working As Intended. ====TLDR==== The problems I am seeing is the wording. By that wording -- organized killing for honor -- premades of any kind themselves are a bannable offense, i.e. bracket-leaders etc; and what the admins specifically dislike is -not- apparent to even a native English speaker, and that ultimately is the only thing I'm interested in getting to the bottom of. I am trying to get it past the point of discussion amongst the PvPers, because if it's left up to that? This may happen again a few generations later, because from what I am being told by veteran and ex-rankers, this has happened before. ====/TLDR==== People are now getting late bans -- Griel -- as well as some whom I am personally aware were not involved in Chigga's que dodging and the most vocal against it and others who were even some of the people who paged GMs against it are still getting banned... I'm having difficulty figuring out the common denominators between a lot of these later ban-waves. Given the specifics of honor-grinding, stacking, ladder-climbing etc.. an organized paragraph on what tactics are, and are not acceptable within the Blizz-like honor system is all I'm seeking. Given the problems that the admins disliked have become -systemic-, and now even people who admitted to guilt are becoming confused again ... I feel this desire for an open post about the GM Vision of the PvP ladder system and it's influence on each battleground is justified and necessary as this ban wave grows bigger and bigger past my own ban to people who were holding themselves apart in conversations about this because they -hadn't- participated. - Are people -wrong- for trying to get into the same AV with a friend? (I'd say no.) - Are people -wrong- for going into AV to grab a black lotus, and then /afk out? (Impulse says yes -- but then why would black lotus be in AV? I'm obviously incorrect.) - Are people -wrong- for quing with 15+ people to get a group into AV who can win it? (I don't know.) - Is quing with 5 people into WSG to avoid premades wrong? (I fail to see how to word it, but it -feels- wrong to me.) - Is it wrong to intentionally raising the honor caps because someone farmed more honor than they should. (Verandin believes it's wrong and has verbally argued on Jazzl's behalf because of it. I don't see how he could be correct though.) - Is having an organized bracket leader and caps wrong? ("organized killing for honor" -- does it require horde cooperation to fall under that? Given the clause was used to ban loads of Alliance, I don't see that could be the case. I think it's easy how one could draw this assumption.) There is some very counter-intuitive stuff going on, and a lot of confusion with what the rules are, and why. Afterall~ It may be blizz-like to have black lotus in AV ... but is it's presence really following the spirit of the battlegrounds system? Etc. Etc. Etc. These are but a few of MANY problems I am finding, and virtually -every- ranker -ever- is "guilty" of some of these unconfirmed tactics on both Alliance and Horde. People who were not part of the Chigga crowd are becoming frightened and confused now regarding their time investment, and people legitimately want to follow the rules -- but given how they're worded? A person coming from completely outside this system with no knowledge of Vanilla would have trouble differentiating what is acceptable and what is not ... but if they avoided ALL of these tactics to be safe with their account and time investment, it would be 100% impossible for them to achieve Rank 14 -- and there are many other systemically used tactics on both Horde and Alliance that I have not written here. And it is very likely that they would be less than safe regarding most of these tactics. We'd like "Organized Killing for Honor" clarification by the GM staff so people can continue their grind with the full approval of the Elysium staff when this is all over. Edits: Making edits for tone and accuracy of information, because the intent of this post is respectful, and not being contrary -- but rather desiring to bridge the gaps in understanding that everyone is arguing about on the bracket 1 and 2 discords.. but I really feel we need an itemized sticky on PvP ranker advice from the Elysium staff on what they feel is "the correct way to do things". There is a lot of misinformation people are trying to circulate as fact. I am a person who -- I believe -- my account was in incredibly good standing until this event. I report bug abusers, gold-sellers, and even file bugs on the bug-tracker when I encounter them. I help people in the Help & Support section -- and I legitimately desire to stay on the correct side of the law. We just need the law to be worded better is all we're asking for.

    [AddOn] enemyFrames

Every time I try to load this addon, I get the following error: Interface\AddOns\enemyframes\EnemyFrames.lua:439: attempt to index global `EFOptions' (a nil value) -- and I can't access the command-list. And I haven't been able to find documentation on what commands this addon uses; to see if this is interfering with it. /eframes This command brings up a small options window, but won't let me move anything or see if it'll show before I enter a BG. I am attempting to pre-configure before pre-mades. "/eframes help" or "/eframes menu" doesn't give a command list or anything useful; just continues to use the initial command. Is there any kind of documentation I can look at? I have not seen any kind of user-friendly command list, read-me, or a map icon or anything.

  20. People who earn Grand Marshal early -- as long as they earned the title.. does the vendor look at your highest rank achieved, or your -current- rank? Will the past Grand Marshals be unable to buy the new off-hand and spell-damage weapons when they are released? Are they ваууed? Is it possible to get either current/past GM/HW responses on this -- or a server admin, for this question of server mechanics -- because of the magnitude of the difference?

  24. I have a Nostalrius character ("Malachie") that I play on the PvP server, which I transfered from old Nost. I am consistently getting disconnected. I keep trying to reconnect, and without giving me a character list-- it disconnects me again. This happens over and over for about an hour. This morning, it took me 6 hours to log in -- It was so bad I thought you guys were having extended Tuesday Maintainance or something, only to find out via Discord other people were on fine. I've played on the new Elysium "Nostalrius" server almost constantly since launch, and now? I can't play for more than 5 minutes without getting disconnected. My mother, and my sister in their own separate addresses with their own separate connections are having this same problem on their own accounts/characters, using the exact same client, and realmslist.wtf that has ALWAYS worked since the Nostalrius re-launch. We do not play on other servers, nor do we play retail. There is no confusion or configuration issues. The que-server feels broken, and the 3-minute grace period from getting disconnected means nothing because we cannot reconnect; we get instant disconnect the moment we type our passwords and hit [Login] to try to come back. We end up back in a 20 minute que after 15 minutes of failing to reconnect. Often times? Even if we get to our character select screen, our characters will be disconnected when the loading bar hits full, kicking us right back out to square one. Mage water I pay for is always gone by the time I get back. Please send help. ; . ; We wanna play WoW! Thank-you in advance.
