I have always considered naming a server the identical name of your project a humongous mistake. Especially as Anathema and Darrowshire's populations are dwindling, the server Elysium is the obvious go-to. And a lot of that has to do with its name. I am sure I speak for all Anathema and Darrowshire players desperate for newcomers, having the name Elysium does not help. In this particular issue, I believe that most of the damage has already been done, but that doesn't mean you can't still fix this wrong. I strongly suggest tailoring a name change for the server as a featured event for the community. Allow staff to create a poll, or perhaps suggestions for a server name, and create a community event to decide the name.

You need to check your e-mail and see if you have your old QR code. If you don't you are SOL. Unless you use a 2FA that is multi-platform, such as Authy. These allow you to use it on your desktop, phone, browser, etc... Very handy if you lose your phone. -
I believe you are correlating issues that don't belong together. Crashing issues have nothing to do with patch bugs. You can find more about this here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ElysiumProject/comments/6rrv5l/sysadmins_servers_and_you/

Send Gold to another Account that i own.
Shiamorah replied to Privatmolkerei's topic in Help & Support
Don't worry about it. You have the same IP address. You won't get banned. If you are trying to use this as a way to see if you can buy gold - don't. It won't work. Staff know and will know if it is innocent or malicious. So if you are innocent, don't worry about it! -
The easiest thing you can do is exit out of wow, delete your wdb folder, and log back in. That sometimes clears up caching issues. If that doesn't work, and you are sure that this is a bug, feel free to post it here: https://github.com/elysium-project/server/issues

I think that what you are saying is spot on here, but it is not the "answer". There is no "answer". This is because as humans, we have very different opinions. One thing someone likes that another person hates. This is no different. There will be people that come here for progression, and when that progression ends, they demand more progression. Alternately, there are people who come here for Vanilla content, and they demand only Vanilla content. Arguing about something like this is silly, because there is no right and wrong. Respect the fact that there are those that wish to proceed to TBC, and respect the fact that there are those that wish to stay in Vanilla. If Elysium eventually decides they want to proceed to TBC, I guarantee they will not abandon Vanilla fanatics. They will not force players to play TBC. They will simply open up their doors to anyone that does. Our community is flawed because we look at issues like this, issues that are completely preferential, and see anyone else with different opinions as enemies. The reality is that when TBC launched in Retail, there were tens of thousands of players who were level 60 already. And there were tens of thousands more who joined level 1 and didn't give a care in the world about it.

Improve ping outside Europe.
Shiamorah replied to Smoothest's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
If this is possible, I would love to see something like this implemented, even if it results in the necessity of donations to fund it. Currently playing at ~200ms, it is stable but not ideal. I don't know about the legal issues that come from something like a proxy in the US, but if possible I would 100% support this idea. -
Hey Zazzi. The majority of the "toxic" part of this community used to play on Elysium, but don't play here anymore, so they feel the desire to lash out and troll/grief anyone who gives them the time of day. You will not have a hard time getting in-game and finding great communities and guilds. Enjoy!

Server Cap or Merge Servers
Shiamorah replied to Shiamorah's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
The sad reality is that at this point in time, it is not even worth it to direct new players to Anathema or Darrowshire. Without an official response on how this is being handled, new players joining these servers will be very underwhelmed. Content alone will not be able to drive numbers up, because the content is directed at players who are already max level. Which is great for players that are already in tight knit communities and guilds, but for the rest it is in a dire situation. I hope the staff here will devise a plan for these servers before it is too late, but at this point I can't see much happening. Anathema and Darrowshire are already lower concurrent population than Zeth'Kur when it was closed, and the last announcement we had regarding these servers is that they are not intended to merge at this time. I don't see any possible solution here besides attempting to ebb the flow of new players from Elysium to Anathema and Darrowshire through a population cap.... Or just closing Anathema and Darrowshire for good, and focusing solely on Elysium. However, Darrowshire is unique because it cannot be compared to Anathema/Elysium due to being a PvE server. My ultimate suggestion is this: Merge Anathema into Elysium - Name it Elysium PvP. Rename Darrowshire to Elysium PvE. Set a server cap to stabilize current population and encourage others to join Elysium PvE. -
Hello, I'd like to discuss these instructions, why they are bad, and why they need to be changed. One of the largest reasons 2FA is not used on a mass scale is for convenience. Many that don't use 2FA don't even realize you can use it on your desktop, or in your web browser. Many think it is only on your phone. One reason is because of these instructions. My suggestion is to please consider removing all the recommended apps, and instead use Authy. Authy not only has a download for your phone, for your desktop, and for your web browser... It is also all integrated. Meaning you scan your QR code on your phone, then you can download Authy on your desktop, and it is already activated and generating PIN numbers. This means that if you lose your phone, you can simply log in two other different ways, and no locked account. Currently, if you use the suggested apps and lose your phone you are S. O. L. This is impractical both on the users and the staff, and can be easily corrected by using proper software. You also need to stress the importance of SAVING YOUR QR IMAGE, THE MANUAL CODE, AND THE ORIGINAL EMAIL. This is essential for regaining access to your 2FA. I understand you guys don't have an effective way for reacting to players who lose their phones and get locked out of their accounts. I get that it causes complications being reactive like this. So why not be proactive and fix the problem at its source? All it takes is literally 2 minutes of changing the text and links in the website editor. And will save players weeks and weeks of being locked out of their accounts. Even if staff chooses not to listen to this, I urge all players to use Authy or another 2FA that has integrated services across devices. And I urge you all to save your QR code in case of emergency.

Server Cap or Merge Servers
Shiamorah replied to Shiamorah's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I can understand where you are coming from with this, but as I tried to lay out in my OP, the current trend is just ignoring a problem until it's too late. There could have been plenty of things done for Zeth'Kur, and the most obvious one would have been to enforce a server cap at the very beginning so they both had equal populations. In my mind, I don't see any resolution to this situation besides either taking a risk with something, or just letting it do its thing. No matter what happens, there are going to be upset players in a situation like this. -
Server Cap or Merge Servers
Shiamorah replied to Shiamorah's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I agree with you on that, but I think the reality of the situation is that the desire for a high population is a something relative. Meaning that players compare three servers against each other in terms of population, which is what I mean in my original post when I say "These three servers are competing against themselves". The larger the disparity between the population amounts, the more influence they have over the pull of new players. You can witness it all the time in any public channel, when new players ask which server they should pick, everyone refers them to Elysium. Darrowshire and Anathema could be perfectly healthy servers, but Elysium will trump over them 100% of the time because of disproportionate population. Setting a server cap would be a huge step into eliminating the disparity, and making Darrowshire and Anathema a more preferable choice. As far as server lifespans goes, we have no idea what Elysium plans to do when a server hits the end of patch content, but I can guarantee you they have no plans to just abandon a server and all the players lose their characters. Even if Elysium put their cap down to 7k players, it would still be the largest vanilla server around, and still be competing with every other project. -
Server Cap or Merge Servers
Shiamorah replied to Shiamorah's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
What are you referencing here regarding desire for high pop pvp realms (8k+)? Felmyst was planning 3k servers, Crestfall planning 5k servers, all the hype for recent private servers has been focused on servers that have no plans whatsoever for high population servers. I don't know where you are getting this from, unless you are referring to the desire to play a high pop pvp realm 7+ months ago. In terms of all the recent server launches and where this massive zerg goes, making a 7k cap here would still be larger than anywhere else... -

Server Cap or Merge Servers
Shiamorah replied to Shiamorah's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
No, it is because the servers have no cap :'D You have no restrictions on population and the end result is exactly what we see today. Servers competing with each other in the same project. There is no future for Darrowshire and Anathema, simply because Elysium generates a large majority of new players. Why? Because there is no cap. Make cap 7k, open transfers and allow players to move freely if they want whenever off Elysium. This creates real incentive for new players to aim for Darrowshire and Anathema- who wanted to wait in a queue when there are perfectly good alternatives? You have a fatalist viewpoint and while you say that you want what is best for the project, your defense against this suggestion is completely tailored to the idea that Anathema and Darrowshire are sinking ships, when that clearly isn't the case. The incentive to join Elysium is obvious. It has the largest population. To mitigate that incentive, you apply a population cap and now new players that want to join will either join darrowshire/anathema or have to wait in a queue. This is a far greater incentive to repopulate these servers than anything else previously discussed. -
Server Cap or Merge Servers
Shiamorah replied to Shiamorah's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
This makes no sense, it sets realistic expectations based on server resources and demand. Proper allocation of population improves all servers. The way it is currently is not sustainable and that is not difficult for anyone to realize. Elysium cannot handle migrating all servers together, it already has lag and dc problems as is. If server population is not balanced or even taking measures to balance, they will always be butting heads together and that is what will diminish he population, not the other way around. It is easy to see this. Your perspective is extremely biased towards one server and not the entirety of the project, it is not hard to notice that. The only other alternative here is just ignoring it all together, which has consequences for 2/3rds of the project. -
Server Cap or Merge Servers
Shiamorah replied to Shiamorah's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I do not see how this change would hurt the project on any way. You are not forcing any players to do anything, you are setting a realistic limitation on the server. I guarantee you that hundreds and thousands of players would prefer mitigating 10% of their population for a significant boost in performance. -
