Do you use an external USB attached device, for your internet for example? your realmlist has "set realmlist" before the IP right? It'd be safer just to do " set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org " Try going into your WTF folder and examining the contents of your config.wtf. There is possibly an error in there.

Don't worry about any of that stuff, just go ahead and extract it and then continue following the instructions, everything should work fine!

Hey, do you have Winrar? The folder is compressed, or a "zip file". You need to unzip it and place the folder somewhere. Have you done that?

How did you know your account was hacked, if the password wasn't changed? When you realize your bank account is compromised, what is the first thing you do? You change your password. Why didn't you change your password at all? That is what I am saying. For something so personal, you seem to not care that someone gained access of your personal details, which could possibly be used for other personal accounts, such as bank accounts, considering a lot of people use the same password

I am listening to everything you are saying, I am telling you that there are things you could have done that you didn't do. The fact that you didn't do them is incredibly suspicious, and you will just need to hope that your ban appeal works out for you.

The issue here is that you are not looking in a general perspective. How do they know you didn't just give him the password? How do they know your account isn't actually even compromised, but that you were actually engaged in selling gold? They don't, they can't. They do know that you have the ability to change your password when you know your account was compromised, but you chose not to, out of...what? Conveniency sake? Just because it says "forgotten password" doesn't matter, it performs the same exact function as changing your password. Alternatively, you can log into the game and change your password from there. Linking your account to your e-mail is for your own account's security, so having validation means that even if your account is compromised and the user changes your password, you can still recover it. All I am hearing here is someone that is hostile because he was banned, while taking absolutely no action to preventing his account from being further compromised. What I am hearing here is that you knew your account was compromised, and allowed the "user" to continue to sell gold.

Hey, the control panel has both the option to reset your password (https://elysium-project.org/password) and the option to recover your account (https://elysium-project.org/recover/nostalrius) The bottom line is that your account was compromised and the user that compromised it used your account to break the rules. You could have easily recovered your account

Ban appeals are private content, so obviously you would not see anyone whose ban has been lifted. Most likely those unbanned don't go back to post about it, they just go back to enjoying their game. If you are innocent, I very highly doubt you will be permanently banned. Have faith in the staff, they are working their best to assure everyone is issued fair judgment. No one has been wrongfully banned. Anyone who has been banned for goldbuying has associated in one way or another with someone that a mass majority of the players in the game avoid. You may have been banned while being innocent, but your actions were perceived as no different than those of a rule breakers. Give the staff some time to distinguish you from rule breakers. If you are innocent, you have nothing to worry about.

He posted directly from their rules, so he is right. But the end of it says that restoration of any item is always at the discretion of Elysium staff. I don't know anyone who has gotten gold back, which is why I said you'd need proof, but that I have no idea how you'd prove it. But you can always try!

Haha, yeah I have a career in IT and in most cases issues are a result of some silly mistake. I'm glad that you got everything figured out, enjoy playing together!

I'd suggest trying to make a ticket in-game... Don't have high hopes though, like most officials that uphold the law, there needs to be proof beyond a reasonable doubt for reparations.

I figure that the staff is very much aware that there could be some innocent players that are affected by these bans. As far as I can tell on the forums, they only people who have received permanent punishments are players who had malicious intentions, I have yet to see a player whose ban appeal was denied who was actually innocent. I believe they are using a stance of take action first, ask questions later. Their method allows them to ban true rule breakers without hesitation, and to go back through them to appeal the innocent players caught in the mix.

The International Section doesn't really apply to that, there are plenty of languages being posted there. The staff does have a lot of work and something like supporting communities like this could be a huge amount of work (i.e. Where does it end? Do we keep adding more and more and more communities, even if they aren't in high demand?) I think it'd be best that if communities were to be made, they should be made unofficial by regular players, and then later recognized by the staff.

These malicious gold sellers are creating guilds and sending players random invites. It is not different than the random whispers that you may have been receiving. It is obvious because the names of the gold selling guild are no different than the type of whispers they were sending. The easiest way to avoid this? Don't accept any guild invites from players you don't know, especially if they are some extremely obvious name like "money4gold"

Hey, I like the intention of your idea because it is all about creating a community so people don't have to feel isolated. However, I feel like something like that could be viewed as an annoyance to many players that don't want to see it, but see it every log in. So, I like where you are coming from, but don't think this would be an ideal implementation. There is a lot that you can do, or anyone who wants to create these avenues for players to get together. You could create an Chinese only guild, and you can create custom channels dedicated to this purpose, and advertise them on the international section of the forum. You could also go on Discord for any incoming new players. Possibly create a macro that searches for players with Chinese names too. I don't think creating communities like this is the staff's job, rather the communities job. I think it's a great idea to get people comfortable with the server and have an avenue for talking to people in their native language, but I think that there are many things that an individual like you could do to create this. Here is my suggestion. Do what I said to create an unofficial channel or guild and create a community. If you gain enough of a following, then come back and ask the staff for recognization and possibly a sticky thread on the International Section of the forum. Or something to transform the unofficial community into an official one.

I would strongly assume that is why you were banned, for joining the guild. I am pretty sure there have been others banned for doing the same. A staff member said yesterday that they focus on ban appeals from oldest to newest, which is why I said not to bump yours, they will definitely get to it. I know that there are a lot of ban appeals right now, and that it might take some time for them to get around to yours. The best thing you can do is admit your mistakes and show that you truly want to atone for them, and that you understand what you did was wrong. They will reply to you in your ban appeal thread. Just be patient, I'd suggest dropping this thread now to prevent it being derailed or becoming a source of drama. If you are truly innocent, I do believe they will be lenient on you, but your actions were bannable, innocent or not. So no matter the consequence, come out from this with a positive mentality and an increased awareness of avoiding bannable actions.

I believe that the staff are taking every possible stop to eliminating this problem as well as they can. Any innocent player that gets caught up in this should ideally have nothing to worry about, because there are backlogs and data that can prove their innocence.

I can understand why you are upset, and do agree with you that something like this can have a degree of plausible ignorance involved. I would not be opposed to someone joining something like this without implicitly attempting to buy gold receiving a temporary ban, as a slap on the wrist, for an x amount of days. I am not familiar with how the staff here have set up bans. And if every ban is just a permanent ban, I do believe that is not an ideal philosophy. Practically every system of punishment in a real life setting is based on rehabilitation and not punishment. I do believe that innocent players can get caught up in this unknowingly, and receive punishments regardless. I don't think that is wrong -- ultimately, you should have the know-how to avoid these situations. But I do not oppose a slap on the wrist and giving players a second chance after an extended period of time. I believe that you are caught up in a storm the staff has created to fight against these gold sellers. While there are multiple avenues of solving this problem without being banned, there could be more done to warn players, such as global messages or reminders. In the end, just hope that your ban appeal goes through and they give you a second chance. Don't bump your appeal. If you truly are innocent, then I'm sorry that this has happened to you, but I believe that the means do justify the ends in this scenario.

Dwadler, I think the extremely obvious point here is that you did exactly what players intending to break the rules did. I am very sorry if this was an innocent mistake on your part, but the point is that there is no way to tell if it was indeed an innocent mistake, or if you had malicious intent and was surprised to see how quickly your actions could get you banned. The problem with your argument is that even if it is the truth, every single legitimate rulebreaker can say the same exact thing. I've only been here for a short time, but there is already a very obvious trend that rule breakers pose as innocent and ignorant players. if you have proof that distinguishes you from these malicious liars that say the same exact thing you are, then you have a chance at being unbanned. The point everyone is trying to make here (and admittedly some less professional than others) is that your argument holds no ground, because virtually every actual rule breaker can say the same exact thing.
