I think no matter what you can't fix ping... It is just a fact of distance, even if you use a VPN. There isn't much you can do, unfortunately. Maybe shop around for a different ISP, that could possibly help.

Here is how you should look at it. Don't criticize it until you try it. Threads like this will have no impact, because opinions in here can be easily swayed when the server is actually launched. Just wait a couple months, and if it feels like the timeline is too slow then, then you have much more of a compelling argument, and probably a lot more people to back this criticism.

Random guess, but the error could possibly be located in your cache, which will stay around even if you re-install the game. Try opening up a command prompt (press start on your pc and type 'cmd'), and then type the command, "ipconfig /flushdns"

Yeah, I wonder if they can possibly change that in the future, so the default recommended server isn't one that can ruin your client. Probably a good idea to make a suggestion regarding that, I can see it easily happening to people. I'm glad it worked though! Enjoy!

I have no experience with this type of error, but I know there are things you can do to isolate the problem. Try creating a new account, and see if that one works. If it works fine, then that means there is something wrong with your account. If it doesn't work, that means there is something wrong with your client. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I know that is definitely a good first step.

Hey buddy, I recreated this error and immediately saw what you mean. Here is your fix. Go to your WoW folder, open up the folder "WTF". Open "Config.WTF" There is a line there that says: SET realmName "QA Test Realm 1.5" Delete that QA Test Realm 1.5 and save it. That should fix your problem. Let me know if anything goes wrong!

In my personal experience, I would not bump things like ban appeals. They will get to it when they get to it, you don't deserve a higher priority than those that posted before you but just haven't bumped their thread... I believe that they are getting a lot of automated bans so they have a surplus of ban appeals right now.

I'm not staff so I can't tell you why your account was closed, but I just barely logged in from a new ISP without issue, so I doubt that is the reason why. Sorry I can't be of more use to you!

Focusing on the buyers instead of the sellers is a bad idea, in my opinion. Focus on both of them. Buyers will always be around, you can't just create a community and tell every single person in the population to do one thing and not the other... Even in real life, we have laws to try to do that, laws that are broken frequently. Right now, the largest issue is accounts that have been compromised and are now being used in malicious ways. Tightening their ability to sell gold is not a permanent solution, but it is just one way out of many different ways they are currently approaching this issue. I agree that this should not be considered a permanent solution, because it negatively impacts players that abide by the rules. But for now, since this is such a major issue here, restrictions and limitations are necessary.

I can see why a change like this could negatively impact average players, but just because you continue to see gold sellers does not mean that their numbers have not decreased with this change. Like anyone dealing with exploiters and rule breakers, a major focus is limiting their ability to break the rules. Reverting a change like this would give rule breakers more breathing room, so why would they ever revert it? There are many different ways to earn gold, and they are focusing their attention on abusable income sources... I think focusing on rule breakings and gold sellers is more important than the convenience of making gold farming easier in these specific situations.
