Wny put an invisible wall at alliance base in Warsong Gulch? 100% not blizzlike.
Shiamorah replied to creeps1's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
This server can never be true blizzlike. Cut the population by 300% and maybe changes like this are not necessary. QoL changes occur when you are playing an old game. In this instance, you can either exploit by going through the wall and get banned, or you can patch the wall so players can't exploit to begin with. The fact that you are arguing about this being unfair is not because it isn't "blizzlike".... That is you being entitled, plain and simple. Staff saw an easy fix to end having to ban players for exploiting. It's no different than a hotfix. So, please, stop wasting staff time on this pointless nonsense, and suck it up. -
So it still costs 50g to PvP
Shiamorah replied to Gnomageddon's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Having no cost to Respec is a really silly idea where only the benefits are analyzed, and not the consequences. -
Why worry about this? There comes a inevitability of issues with servers end of life. Will they want to let their servers die off when they hit the final vanilla patch? .....No. the project won't just cease to exist like they are done or something. They will continue to progress. Threads like this are moot, because it addresses an obstacle Elysium does not need to face yet.

Server Cap or Merge Servers
Shiamorah replied to Shiamorah's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
As Phoosy said below, there is plenty that can be done to mitigate population while still providing an optional experience. In fact, setting a cap would solve issues like lag and wouldn't be working the server as hard. The reality is, someone needs to be done. Even if staff decide to hold off on that for months, hoping that they will regain population (similar to how Zeth'kur was treated), there will eventually come the time to make a hard decision and one or the other options I posted will have to happen. I don't see any other alternative. The purpose of this thread is to say that we should be proactive with this realization and make changes sooner rather than later, so the servers do not destabilize. -

Hey, you're not a noob, you just haven't done this before :) After you download one of those, open up the rar file, and it should show a World of Warcraft folder. Copy that bad boy onto your desktop, then open it up and check the realmlist.wtf file (Open it with notepad). Make sure it is set to the right realmlist. The only thing you should see is: Then run wow.exe as administrator. You can actually right click WoW.exe, go to properties. Press the "Compatibility" Tab, check "Run this program as an administrator", and hit Ok. That will make it run as administrator every time. Use the account you created at https://elysium-project.org/play and you should be able to log in just fine! I would also suggest you take a look at the Addons forum section here, there are many addons that will assist new players. You can find that here: https://forum.elysium-project.org/forum/268-ui-addons-macros/

Do you have 7zip or Winrar? You downloaded a rar file, which is a compressed folder. You need something to uncompress it. http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Simply limit the maximum population of any given custom channel anywhere from 50-100 players. 1.) Population Density: Those who played retail have vivid memories of packed major cities, players hustling and bustling all over the place, the game seemed very... Alive. Elysium offers populations that are almost 3 times larger than retail! However, the presence of major custom channels, such as the global channel allow players to be very dispersed around the world, while still coordinating with others. By restricting custom channel maximum population, you will be re-invigorating features that go mostly unused -General, Trade, LocalDefense, and LFG. These features are location-based, meaning someone in Azshara will not see General messages from Ashenvale. This feature naturally influences players to stick around major cities, effectively increasing population density. One exception to this that is a great feature Elysium currently employs is that all major cities share the should still exist, if this suggestion is taken into consideration. 2.) Draining the Swamp: Elysium staff do not have the time to strictly moderate large global channels, and a result of this is less than savory communication. Let's call it... "Barren-esque". The image that a server represents is a very important concept, and many new players joining Elysium will quickly see a level of unacceptable behavior by visiting global channels. Even if it is just jokes or for the lols, any sort of racist or derogatory language not only makes you look bad, but it makes the server look bad. While restricting custom channels may not eliminate this kind of behavior, it will greatly change the environment and way the community is presented. Basically, in many cases, global chat is what The Barrens General chat should be. 3.) Emphasis on Interaction: Custom channels like global are no different than social media. By becoming more connected, you become more divided. Restricting custom channels will make players have to utilize different ways of communication, which in turn will create tight-knit communities, albeit smaller. Many players come to Elysium for the nostalgia factor, and a significant part of that has always been interactions with the community. Global channels unaltered allow for many players to come together and talk amongst each other, but creates little to no valuable interactions. 4.) Restriction, not Elimination: This suggestion does not eliminate custom channels. Players will still be able to create channels for whatever reason they desire, and still have as large of a population as they need for their specific purpose. It comes to no surprise that many view this community negatively, because everyone gets such an exposed view of players who say what they want with no disregard to those around them. This is an easy change to implement, and will help blossom the community into a much more personally tailored experience. I'm sure some will not agree with me on this, but I honestly feel like many enjoy channels like global just because it is for cheap laughs and trolls. You can see drama unfold while lurking, you can advertise your guild and raids at ease, etc... But the reality is that it is not necessary, and I strongly believe it is more detrimental to this community than beneficial. Let me know what you think, whether you agree or disagree. When it comes to matters that greatly affect the community, I believe that the community should have a strong say in molding those decisions. P.S. Notice how trolls seem to have a lot of influence on this server? Look no further than those that spam global nonstop.

Disable ability to change loot while in combat
Shiamorah posted a topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Pretty simple suggestion, there are plenty of ninjas who abuse this. Just start a boss, and at any time you can change loot rules and then just ninja. I don't see any conflicting reason that this shouldn't be changed, so that group leaders can not change loot rules while in combat. Thoughts? -
It would be later than this. Unless his suggestion is to also stall the naxxramus patch until Elysium naturally gets to it...
-
This should be very obvious, shouldn't it? 1.) PvP - server merges and all of the sudden Anathema players completely annihilate Elysium players. Not to mention brackets are ruined, even players with PvE gear would stomp on the Elysium players with PvP gear 2.) PvE - server merges and we get a "glorified queue" that devalues all Elysium players when it comes to gear. Everyone would prefer to have an Anathema geared player over an Elysium geared player. Elysium players won't even be on par with Anathema players. You said it yourself, you've done over 100 BWL raids, while the average player on Elysium has done... About 100 times less. 3.) Economy - server merges and we will see insane effects on the economy. You are talking about a game that's only gold sink is buying a mount. And merging a server that has had an ongoing economy for more than 4 times the amount of Elysium. In almost every aspect of the game, a merge with Anathema and Elysium will put Anathema players at an extreme advantage over Elysium players. If you don't propose anything besides Elysium players sucking it up, I guarantee you that your ambitions will never come to fruition.
-
I am not referring to server first or anything, that really is a moot issue when it comes to merging servers. What I meant is "ahead on gear" is an understatement. Anathema has had BWL for over a year and a half, and Elysium is just barely getting it now. Anathema is also ahead on AQ and will be ahead on Naxx. Players on Anathema are so further progressed than players on Elysium that it will just be straight up unfair for Elysium players. I see absolutely no way short of wiping Anathema of their gear that a merge will be plausible. So far, all you have basically said is that Elysium will just have to suck it up, which is not logical rationale for implementing a merge. If we had to merge and there was no choice in the matter, the only way I could see it being plausible is reverting Anathema to Elysiums patch and removing all gear acquired from those patches. Otherwise, there will always be an extreme advantage. And of course, your personal bias will argue saying that Elysium players should just suck it up.
-
You are openly explaining here the exact reason why a majority of the population would be opposed to a merge. Anathema literally has a 2 year headstart on everyone else. If that wouldn't be considered an extreme advantage over the majority of the server, then I don't know what is. The extremely easy part of a merge has been discussed and proposed, but the obvious and most complicated issue here is very apparent. How do you alleviate such a significant upper hand?

Well, why have a suggestions page if you just follow what Blizzard does -
Alt-tab not working in windowed (maximised) on mac
Shiamorah replied to Fojar's topic in Help & Support
Don't you use the Apple button to do that instead of alt? -
No, not possible

2nd gamer can't log in no matter what station? Also, I suggest removing the IP address, it's not necessary
-
I'm sorry but at this time they aren't offering any way to transfer servers
-
Nope, there was a window where you could have transferred to Elysium, but you missed it.
