I have discovered numerous posts about people having their accounts hacked. First of all, if you have been hacked (and banned as a result) Account security is YOUR responsibility. This means that you receive no compensation, replacement, or restoration of ANY lost items or accounts. Learn from your mistakes, cut your losses and move on. Right now you might be thinking "F*** YOU MATE" and "This guy is a dick", but Elysium and Nostalrius staff have said numerous times in numerous posts that even you are the victim, Account security is YOUR responsibility and your lost items and/or banned accounts WILL NOT be restored. Now to move on to actually securing your account and what 2FA is: HOW TO CREATE A STRONGER PASSWORD In this section I am going to give you a few tips on how to create a stronger password (you should really be putting this in to practice everywhere, as I was once the victim of a hacked Hotmail account and it took me a week to get back control from Microsoft Support) So to begin with, you should be using a password that is a MINIMUM OF 8 CHARACTERS LONG, using a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols. I will give you an example: x96*tt1_o4fvz is a very strong password because it is completely random and does not include any words from the English dictionary that hackers use to Brute Force Hack your account. If you have difficulty remembering such passwords, or are worried about losing what you have written down, there is a solution. KeePass is a FREE password manager that will store ALL of your passwords. So instead of trying to remember 97547862 passwords for each one of your accounts in existence, you now only have to remember ONE for Keepass. Keep in mind that if you do forget your KeePass password, you will be unable to log in and their support WILL NOT break it open for you. Another very handy and useful feature is that it will generator a random password for you based upon certain specified criteria, such as character length, encryption protocol, etc. AVAST! Antivirus offers a similar service (Although I have not used it before).

We are all (presumably) merging in to a server with a much higher population than our own; therefore, the number of available slots for ranking up increases. More people can achieve higher ranks. /violin

Your arguement about time investment is completely negated by the fact that this game is free. Get over it.
-
Nobody is saying you have to play that much. Lol @ people still trying to take this game seriously after 14 years. Come on.

You make some valid points but I am one of those people who is looking at the bigger picture. Sure I myself do not have much to lose at the present time, given that I am only rank 3. However it is my point of view that it's only a minor hiccup when looking at 6-10 months down the road. One week is hardly going to make a difference. I am certain that they wish to play it safely and make sure the transfers do not screw anything else up on Elysium and make matter worse. They are a volunteer team that are giving you a free game to play; optional donations if you wish to contribute to the project at the end of the day, they are also real people, with lives of their own and families. I know this is difficult for people to understand given that Blizzard paid people to do that kind of thing; it was part of their business model. The 'Blue' team that is before you today only has so much time in a day with limited resources. They try their best and sometimes they too make mistakes. I think that many of the haters need to tone things down a bit and be more appreciative having a team of volunteers that cares about their project. Yeah there's lot of bugs and some of these problems are time consuming to fix or can not be fixed. But is the community going to always see the negative things? Or can we move past it and focus on the positives?

And how is that? They didn't lock you out of the battle ground the week before the transfer. You should have grinded enough honor to climb before the transfer. It's your fault if you didn't, not the GMs. Be grateful that they offered you the transfer in the first place in addition to a choice of the other 3 realms. Zeth Kur rankers would have been much more screwed by the shut down if they had to re-level characters and no transfers were provided. And yes, I am one of those Zeth Kur rankers that you speak of.

Have you correctly modified the "Realmlist.wtf" document in your game directory? Also, when you download a torrent, typically it is in a compressed format. Have you tried extracting the file with a program such as 7-Zip? The archive of your download will be located at C:/Users/<Name of your machine>/Downloads

Yes racism in open world chat is against the ToU. Open a ticket with screenshots and a GM will review it.
-
Open a ticket in game if you feel you were scammed. Be sure to include your screenshot there and a GM will assist you.
-
You have to open a ticket in-game if you want the GMs to help you.

What Hexygon said. I personally like to keep two stacks of the best food that the pet can eat. You will never use the full two stacks before it hits loyalty level 6, (unless you constantly let him die). Addons such as Luna Unit Frames are very good at reflecting pet's happiness and if you always keep it in the green, it will never run away. Also, if you dismiss the pet right after the tame you will not lose more than 50 happiness. (Pet happiness ticks at 35 for 10 ticks for best level food, giving a maximum of 350 happiness per feed) If you want to see this for yourself, watch your combat log as you feed it.

[Solution] Mail Gold Spam
Lehman Russ replied to Dizeliun's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Yeah, that's never going to happen. IP masks, proxies and a plethora of other methods would be employed to get around it for both the people being banned and the farmers selling the gold. So long as a market exists where people buy gold, you will always have someone there to fill the gap and supply it. Hence the term "Supply and Demand". -
That's what I was aiming at with my post. And yeah you can't (PvP wise) mitigate Lupos damage with armor as you stated. You need Shadow Resistance for that.
-
What you didn't take in to consideration is that BT has a 1.0 Attack Speed. Lupos is 2.0 This means that BT literally gets two attacks to Lupos' one.
-
Cummon people I have Lupos to level; only 14 more to go for him to catch up :p

Except you failed to read that that post was made a week ago.

Can confirm on Zeth'Kur based on 3 spawns were 5.5 hours apart and at the exact locations indicated on the map. Spawns are random in location, although I I got 3 in a row at 33, 25. Got ganked on the first one and the other two were killed by Biggons. Edit: Finally got one this morning at about 12pm server time. Trying for a second one with my Hunter alt.

Turn Zeth'kur into a PvE server or start a fresh-start PVE server

HELP! I've been hacked!: What can I do to protect myself?
Lehman Russ posted a topic in Help & Support
I decided to write this article because I am still seeing people being hacked on a daily basis. At the time of writing this I am watching an unfortunate victim of a hack spam Trade chat in Orgimmar for a website where you can buy gold. (Buying gold will also earn you an instant ban if you are caught, and you WILL be caught) Just yesterday a guildie of mine was hacked and logged in to their account naked and everything in their inventory had been sold. Gone. Everything they had worked to accomplish had been seemingly erased (At least they didn't destroy his mount, but it's beside the point). Disheartened and discouraged, this individual was strongly considering quitting the game, and frankly I can't blame him for feeling that way. Hell, I would have most likely reacted the same way under similar circumstances. So we pulled together as a guild to help this person out with re-gearing him, running him through dungeons just to get him back on his feet (Because we already know the stance Elysium has on hacked accounts: Albeit apologetic, they will do absolutely nothing for you). So how do we prevent this thing from happening? How do I protect myself (and others) from becoming victims of malice and thievery from those who seek to destroy our economy and undermine what we have worked so hard to achieve? No solution is 100% fool-proof, but I am going to give you some tips about how to protect yourself: #1: Set up 2FA on your account using the Google Authenticator App. Use the following guide if you are unsure how to do it. #2: Never use the same login credentials that you used on other private servers. Use a unique login and NEVER share the information with anyone. #3: Change your password often. Although there is an option to do it ingame, I recommend you do it in your Control Panel instead. If you make a mistake and screw it up, you just advertised your account information to whatever chat channel you were previously locked on. #4: VERY IMPORTANT: Avoid using passwords with common words found in dictionaries of whatever language you speak. Passwords such as Mydog123 and Grandmasboy88 are extremely weak and you should expect to be hacked VERY EASILY. The best passwords to use are completely random containing a combination of capital letters, numbers, and accepted symbols such as asterisks, underscores, ampersands, etc. The following is an example (DO NOT USE IT): bx&91*yx_T1L If you have difficulty remembering these passwords, you can download a password manager that is free for personal use (non-commercial) such as KeePass. Keep in mind you MUST remember the password you use on KeePass, because if you forget it, you're screwed. KeePass Support WILL NOT crack it open/ hack it for you. There is also a app on Google Play if you prefer. You really should put this in practice with every account you have, even your email address. #5: NEVER publicly post your login credentials ANYWHERE. EVER. This type of thing is most commonly found in the "I've been banned" threads. This thing isn't going to go away until the community shakes off that "Every Man For Himself" attitude that is so prevalent in the community today and comes together to educate one another and help those who aren't as tech-savvy as many of us are. Yes, the responsibility falls upon each individual to secure their own accounts and information, but how do we know how and why we should do this if we are unaware that the threat exists? Would there be a need for CompTIA A+ and Cisco CCNA if everyone that sat behind a computer could tear it down and put it back together with no experience? Please share this article with the all of the "Plebs" out there so they can take the pro-active approach and prevent this before it happens to them. The longer this thing goes on, the stronger the degenerate gold sellers become, ultimately frustrating people to the point where they no longer wish to play and discourage friends from participating in the community. Let me ask you one question: how much fun do you think Raiding/PvP is going to be when you have nobody to play with (or against) because people keep quitting because of this crap? -

By authoring these threads you give those people exactly the kind of attention they are seeking when they "grey kill" you. -
Just the fact that you openly post your Account and Email information in a public forum makes me /cringe
