Thank you. :D I'm glad you're getting something out of it! Much love from the Alliance <3

Damn. Well, there you go. A movie's a good strategy if you plan on camping, I did the same thing before my tame :p I guess you should just come back and try it again. If you need anything else hunter-related, come drop by my Hunter Macros & Tips thread <3 Maybe there's some resource there that'd be helpful to you in the future.

That's odd. I usually tell my pet to stay if I'm running a long distance so it's instantly dismissed. I can call mine back just fine. Anathema server here.

It was shitty. BT has a 7.5 hour respawn time (is that the same on Nost PvE?) and is sought after by many, many hunters. You never know what a hunter taming him already had to do to get him - I couldn't make a few spawns because of my own schedule, I had friends helping me and I came on at exactly the right time to show up and tame him. People have things to work around to fit that tame into their time, whether it's waiting forever or waking up in the dead of the night, and it's always highly anticipated. Should have just left it alone. You said he was just questing, so I assume you were around the same level. Did you not have a similarly powerful Distracting Shot? Couldn't you have pulled it back?

That's horrible. :( Sherwin should be ashamed. The general policy for taming Broken Tooth back on Nost 1.0's PvP server was to just leave him alone and let everyone hit that tame button. Whoever gets is the winner, because every other time there was fighting BT was one-shot by someone. Not sure how Nost PvE does it, but you don't pull BT away from another hunter just like you don't interrupt a hunter killing a Rhok'delar demon - it's common courtesy. I personally saw him killed twice by a particular jealous Horde hunter before I got my tame under these circumstances: Keep at it! You'll get him!

Edit: THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED! My steps: - Log in (Get placed into the last logged in server) - Attempt to change to the server you want to play, which then hangs - Cancel that and log out - Log back in and it should take you to the new server no problem Original post:

What Drak said. http://addons.us.to/addon/gfwhuntershelper This addon can help you figure out where to find beasts with the various abilities you'll need.

Hey guys, sorry about the triple post, but I figured I'd let y'all know I've updated this thread ^^ There are two new guides added: "The Hunter's Toolkit" and "Specializations." They're quite long, so please refer to the description for a skip list. Keep annotations on if you'd like subtitles, or feel free to turn them off if you can hear me just fine. I hope they help all the new hunters rolling on the fresh Elysium server. Good luck and happy hunting! :)

Thanks, you guys <3 All the comments are very motivating! I noticed that some of my macros are broken on this backup copy of the thread. I'm gonna fix 'em as soon as possible.

I don't know of any way to tweak it except by playing with the addon code. However, there is an attack bar addon that counts ranged, melee, wands, etc. But, I like rais more for ranged attacks and only use Attack Bar for melee strikes. http://addons.us.to/addon/attackbar You can configure this addon with "/abar" - hope that helps. Good luck :)

Thanks, you guys! <3 That's very motivating :) I was wondering about this too, actually. I haven't found a way to do it yet. I did, however, find that you can target Eagle Eye on your minimap... which helps navigate your sight to be more precise, at least.

Hey. My hunter macros & tips thread has a link :p The old link was broken so I uploaded my own copy to mediafire. Here you go: http://www.mediafire.com/file/lthyfecdl8v2yoq/rais_AutoShot.zip Good luck and happy hunting!

Shadowmeld, in my opinion, is still okay in PvE. Back at Uldaman level, I was trying to get to this quest item in one of the outside-instance common halls alone, and if I didn't have Shadowmeld, I'd have to survive for thirty seconds out of Feign Death. With Shadowmeld, I can get up from Feign Death into Shadowmeld, and then Feign's cooldown will reset. While Feigned, Shadowmeld's cooldown will reset. You can also avoid ganks in the world very easily, improving your questing efficiency... AFK almost anywhere... and other cool stuff like that. I AFK pretty often so it's nice for me - and the higher base agility is great! On the Horde, I prefer trolls for their berserking ability and regeneration. Throw in a Troll's Blood elixir and you're much tougher to kill! Great video :)

Enchanting is nice to pick up, especially if you plan on farming often, but I prefer alchemy or engineering, myself. On Nostalrius 1.0, I leveled up Mining and Engineering and it was awesome! You can make the best craftable ammo in the game as an engineer, which can be exchanged for arrows if you use a bow. Engineering also provides awesomely useful gadgets, espectially for a hunter, such as a net launcher to root a target in place while you Aimed Shot it, or stealth detection goggles to see rogues from far away! Especially when combined with Track Hidden. And bombs, of course, lots of bombs. On Kronos II, I leveled Alchemy and Engineering simultaneously, with great success. I was able to sell lots of potions and the occasional transmute and afford to make more potions and Engineering gadgets. While Alchemy is nice and all, you can get the potions you really need from friends or the auction house. I would strongly recommend Engineering instead, if you only want to bother with one production profession, since many Engineering gadgets require Engineering to use. Oh, and as for whether or not it's easy to level up - it's quite easy to level up. You only need a few stacks of each sort of ore to get all the way up to 300, with a little bit more iron and mithril than the other sorts. And those are fairly common. Leatherworking is pretty popular but I don't really like it, so I won't say more on it because I don't know it so intimately as Everquest up there. For a hunter, there are alternatives to Devilsaur leather, but if you really want the Devilsaur set, you can just cough up some gold for it. If I'm not mistaken, it's more expensive on Nostalrius than it should be, but that's okay, you're a hunter - you can farm easily. :)

That's fine, the repost is sincerely appreciated. I shall proceed with the new thread, then! Edit: The thread is now up. Here's a link: https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/29824-hunter-macros-tips-redux/

Thank you very much, yada! I thought the Nostalrius forums were down forever, and as it turns out, I somehow lost my backup copy of the [Redux] version, although I had the original. :) You saved this thread!! Would y'all mind it if I reposted the thread on its own? Is that okay, or would that be redundant? Y'know, so I can keep editing stuff.
