Hah! That's beautiful. I had no idea it was THAT wonderfully powerful. Pity he gets nerfed...
-
Damn. That's pretty incredible, if that's true. I've never had the chance to use him pre-nerf, myself. You could grind mobs to level yourself and your pet up simultaneously! :O
-
Wow, congratulations!! Level him up real good. :D If you need locations to level him up, my pets tutorial provides some recommendations. You can find a link to it in the Hunter Macros & Tips thread.
-
I've never heard that about him, although I can imagine he's fair for prot warriors or some high-armor class. What's so good in particular about him for PvP?
-
Come to think of it, didn't they drop the respawn time from 7.5 hours to 4 hours when they added the other two spawn points for him? I remember it was exactly 7.5 hours back on Nost 1.0, while it was in that one spot, so wandering near that spot at 37+ as a hunter was a death sentence.
-
Well, Lupos is the best PvE pet, and BT is a popular PvP pet. While BT can be used for PvE, I don't think that's the main reason folks would want him, hence the confusion. Don't hunters want a great PvP pet on a PvP server? :P
-
You mean the Badlands? How bizarre! It took me a week to get the little guy back on Nost 1.0. On Kronos, I was the only person camping at a given time, but I've very rarely seen him just up, even on Anathema. Oh, woe is me! My darling Broken Tooth has no one to love him. :(

Casual! REEEEE
-
You'll have an empty spot either way. You can tame something in the area and release it when you tame the thing you want.
-
Now that's creative. :)
-
I didn't know there was a macro to sell grays too. :D But LazyPig does that too! As you apparently know already. lol
-
That's really neat, but I strongly recommend the LazyPig addon, which allows you to turn in the quest by simply holding down shift while spam right-clicking the guy, among plenty of other convenient functions. Try it! :D

Oh yeah, or wind serpents. They can zap things from 20 yds away, so even if it is some kind of lag issue, there's no way a mob will escape your serpent. Might be worth a try. You can find Dive rank 1 in Razorfen Kraul at level 30, and only there at level 30. Good luck.
-
He was camped back on Nost 1.0 and I'd be surprised if that actually were the case, Myllz. If you go and tame BT for yourself, Zazabi, and confirm that no one cares for that wonderful cat, I might just have a heart attack. Good luck.
-
Pet in first is a good habit to have. Dash should help. When you hit level 30, go tame something that has Dash.
-
That's risky since a mob might be able to max-range melee you and stay out of range of the trap. I try taming after scaring while standing behind a trap, in the probable direction the mob will come.

Mine or OP's? Mine are WASD, of course. I use right mouse + A / D to strafe.

Welcome to the hunter class! Have a tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw5ArtwO4h8 Don't forget to drop by Hunter Macros & Tips [Redux] for more information. :)

This. I don't use ctrl+ bindings, myself, only shift. Instead, I spread my keybinds to plenty of other letters, like Q, E, Z, X, C, etc.
-
If Freezing Trap ain't enough, try opening with Concussive Shot before Tame Beast, or some other kind of CC. Scare Beast is great, but good luck making that beast run into a Freezing Trap after the fear effect wears off. That can be kind of a toss-up.

Indeed, we have one of the coolest quests in the game to look forward to at level 60. :) ...And don't forget to pick up the Devilsaur Eye at level 50. It'll last you a long time.

As a hunter, your primary focus will be utility. In terms of damage, burst is your strongest point, so you'll need to perform combos with Aimed Shot, Auto Shot, and Multi-Shot to quickly take out stuff like Chromatic Drakonids on Nefarian or tentacles on C'thun. With something like Chromatic Drakonids or tentacles, the melee usually have those covered. If your guild splits casters and melee, you might make more of a difference with more responsiveness on the caster side. On a mechanic like Pack on the tank on Anub'rekhan, a moment's notice can make the difference between wipe and success. Keybindings aren't easy to get used to, especially if you're a habitual clicker, but my best advice is to start out with simple binds for the necessities. You should get to the point where hitting those keybinds is absolutely automatic; commit the binds to muscle memory. Then, you won't have to worry about remembering X or Y at all. Hope that helps.

I love that addon. I've been using it for a while now! Highly recommended.

Yeap. :D

Damn, Roxanne. I went one page back, scrolled up and thought I was in a different thread. "What? This isn't the OP I wrote!" XD Always so verbose, you. :) About the dash and dive distance thing, I dunno if it works on pets, but it certainly works for the player. Check my extended Auto Shot macro, I believe it's in section 2.2.1. It does a distance check to determine if it should call Auto Shot or Attack.
