  1. Yo, sorry for the late reply. There are a few cool rares with special attack speeds. I could list them off, but here, I have a pet tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw5ArtwO4h8 Check the description for a skip list, as usual. I hope it helps! ^^

Started a hunter, need some advice

Hey there fam. Folks might still want Lupos for the sake of taming a rare, but if they want a rare wolf, I'd recommend Deathmaw instead. He has a faster attack speed. Pets aren't supposed to scale with stats on vanilla servers. They don't here on Anathema. There is one really important thing you should know, since you asked: Make sure you call your pet before you swap things in or out of the stable. A friend of mine lost their Broken Tooth a while back to the related glitch that causes your pet to be gone forever. Hope that helps. If you need any more help, ask here or check out my Hunter Macros & Tips [Redux] thread ^^

    Explanation for the server crashes

The Jom Gabbar just dropped for me after months of terrible luck and I swear to God, if it rolls back and my screenshots aren't enough proof that I won it and it isn't refunded, I will drown a sack of puppies.

I dunno how it will turn out on Elysium, but on Anathema or Nost 1.0, I've only ever seen the stats listed on VDB for the CPCB and Bloodseeker. So, what information I provided is all I've ever known. If you find some significant different, you can always link a screenie here or something if you're still not sure which is preferable. :)

Best way to level up a pet?

It could work, but you'd need to feed him, and a high-populated area might mean two or more mobs pull on Lupos... so unless he's got high loyalty and, uhh, I guess he should be specced into heavy armor or something too, that's proooobably not gonna work out...

    Hunter Macros & Tips [Redux]

Hi ^^ http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=18738 http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=19107 Here are CPCB and BS respectively. CPCB has a damage range of 82-124, a speed of 3.3, and a DPS of 31.2, according to VDB. BS has a damage range of 85-128, a speed of 3.3, and a DPS of 32.3, according to VDB. While BS has strength, it also has more agility than CPCB and a slightly better damage range. The damage range is what boosts the damage of your Multi-Shot and Aimed Shot, and this in addition to the extra agility makes BS better for PvE. Strength also boosts melee damage, so if you're a PvPer, I don't think it's quite as useful as stamina, not by a longshot, but it is still a stat you may use from time to time and it isn't unreasonable to take, provided you're not sacrificing more important stats like agility or stamina. Stamina is a favored stat for PvP, but I personally prefer a more glass cannon sort of playstyle. I stack as much agility as possible and if I get stamina, that's fine, but if not, it's no concern. More agility is more firepower, so more agility is what I go for. That said, CPCB is a perfectly viable alternative to BS, but if you play with allies, stealthily, or in ways that help you avoid direct confrontations most of the time, stamina isn't that big a deal. I'll go over my own favorite PvP spec to show you what I mean, in just a sec! And I'll also explain why the logic favoring BS over CPCB can be applied to a talent like Survivalist, while I'm at it. Good question. Freezing Trap tends to break early all the time in PvP, but that's not the reason to get Clever Traps! Clever Traps increases the duration of your Frost Trap by 9 seconds, allowing you to zone for your team for that much longer, which is super helpful for all-out fights like the initial both-team zerg to BS in AB, or covering choke points like mid exit in WSG. It also boosts the damage of your Immolation Trap, which is awesomely helpful in a 1v1 against a very persistent and heavily armored melee DPS. In fact, I was duoing some BGs the other day with this thing: http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=19950 And the fun thing about it is, it boosts the damage of our Arcane Shot, Serpent Sting, Immolation Trap, and Explosive Trap... but none of our skills count as spells. So we get the full benefit for the whole duration! I was doing the normal auto / aimed / multi w/ ambushing people sort of strategy most of the time, but every two minutes I'd pop this thing off and flop a melee with the hard DoTs and max-rank Arcane Shot. Full SP out of the blue. It usually worked out; without the ZHC, those abilities are more supplementary, a little too slow and probably won't out-DPS a warrior sticking to you like glue, but with it, they almost always flop before you do. Fun! Pardon me, I digress. The point was, clever traps is still useful even if Freezing Trap remains unreliable, and I like the talent. Tons of text: I apologize for going on so long, but I hope my explanation has helped you consider the application of your PvP talents more thoroughly, and I hope I've expressed my own reasons for enjoying the listed talents adequately. Please do hit me up if you need anything else. :) Edit: P.S. - To anyone else looking for updates, I know I haven't posted a new video in, like, months. Really sorry about that, been busy as hell. I've been raid logging too, so I dunno how I'm gonna keep up with everything and still manage to prep enough consumes for Naxx since I've been lazy about playing the AH... but I'm trying, alright? ^^ When I get the next thing done, I'll be sure to let y'all know. And hey, you can always ask in this thread if you want to know something specific! I may not be able to edit videos at the moment but I can still give a lengthy response in text form. Thanks for understanding!! :D

Best way to level up a pet?

Oh, hi. Sorry for the late reply. My pet tutorial contains some tips on raising a pet's combat level quickly. Section 3.2.2 in Hunter Macros & Tips [Redux], and the combat training segment begins at 20:53. Or, follow this link: https://youtu.be/rw5ArtwO4h8?t=1253 That's all the advice I can really think to give for leveling a pet. Good luck.

    PVP & Lupos

Hey there. Congratulations on taming Lupos so early! He's a fine catch. As everyone else said, Beast Mastery is the easiest, strongest spec for leveling, and I myself strongly recommend it. I leveled as Marksman since I didn't particularly care for speed while I leveled up. I did a lot of dungeons on the way up, so I put it to good use, and that was fun. If you really want to try something new, why not? If you do try it, here's my advice: You may want to downrank multi-shot to rank 1 so you don't bother your mana too much. It will do as much damage as your auto shot, plus stuff like Barrage or T1 8-set. Aimed shot, keep it the max rank, and aside from those two shots, auto shot's the only other one you'll need. Have fun ^^

    Mara Farming Pet

From what I've been told, +heal was very popular back in retail vanilla for hunters who wanted to solo dungeons. Quite interesting! I used MP5 gear for the DM T solo before moving back here to Elysium. There are lots of things which could offer a benefit if you get creative with it, for sure. I prefer to either go in and strongarm it with normal gear or wear some T1 and be lazy about it. I typically favor better times over easier runs. 3p T1 makes a HUGE difference though! I can't imagine what it would be like mending one's pet with 3p T1 and lots of +heal gear, but for Maraudon, surely it must be overkill.

UGH. I hate that. Yeah :p The rapid fire won't really go to great use on Princess given that you can just whittle her down bit by bit without. She has very thick armor that absorbs a lot of damage, it can help a bit but it's not really as useful as it would be on Rotgrip. Rotgrip takes soooo much damage from physical shots that Rapid Fire goes to great use killing him quick.

Good luck :p With pet survivability and Lupos. The pet control is really what makes the difference; I can't really emphasize that enough. It takes a little getting used to, keeping an eye on your pet while you do your normal damage dealing, but like I said, practice makes perfect!

Best way to leveling low level pet

Ayy lmao, I used that for my Deathmaw. I had a prot pally friend tag along and she murdered all the skeletons very quickly. It's very effective. Highly recommended - once your pet is at a good level, of course, so it doesn't pull the respawning elite troll trash. Low 50s should be okay if it's tucked in the corner in that video. Also recommended to bring a friend! Those skeletons are somewhat annoying to kill on a hunter :(

What Fibber said. Auto Shot and Mend Pet and you'll be in a good position, and remember to turn on Creature Damage Spells on Others in your chat log and be fairly close to Princess so you can see when she's casting her Boulder. Not too close, of course. Right-click the general tab and I think it's under spell messages. I dunno about waiting for the first rock before popping CDs though. I've done her where she only threw, like, two rocks the whole time, and again where she threw, like, thirty. It's really RNG. Given Princess' melee damage, it could help to pull pet back during Dust Cloud, then send it back in before it ends. It lasts about five seconds, just enough to use a Mend while your pet's out of her range. Be prepared in case she uses Boulder during Dust Cloud. Usually she takes a step or two forward if your timing is ideal and your pet's back in at just the right time, and that's a simple step back. Easy. Of course, your greatest ally in that fight will be Thick Hide and / or Natural Armor at a high rank, so consider how effective that'll be at saving your pet's HP. Stam doesn't matter for this farm and resistance is somewhat negligible compared to armor, though still helpful, in my experience. I also wouldn't recommend popping CDs on her at all, actually. I get her low and start using standard rotation - Aimed Shot, Multi-Shot, you know - when I know I'll run out of mana at the moment I kill her. Helps speed things along. If, for some reason, you need all of your mana for Mend Pet, just do your normal Auto Shot / Mend Pet thing until she's dead. If you need to kite, that's easy too. Cheetah to outrun her, toggle it off when a Boulder is coming your way and turn it back on when the stun is over. No need to switch to Hawk at all, just use Auto Shot on her any time she starts Dust Cloud. She'll die eventually. And if even THEN you're having trouble, outrun her by a good distance, LoS behind one of the boulders in front of the bridge and bandage up. You could also just run around and let mana regenerate for a few. As long as you don't use anything that costs mana, it'll keep regenerating. To do this while also running from her with Cheetah, just run along the side of the arena, there are some nice LoS spots there. That, or stay really far away from her as well as you can. Rotgrip is a DPS race, I'd say. Aside from normal auto attacks, he'll apply a stacking bleed, as Fibber said, and he'll also occasionally regenerate health by attacking your pet with a devastating leeching strike. Your pet will probably lose a bunch of HP, and he'll gain, like, 5%. You need to kill him before he kills your pet. Usually I leap down the waterfall when he's far away. I have my pet Dash to him and Growl, then come back a bit, go back in to Growl, come back to me a bit more, one more Growl... a few Growls while your pet fetches him for you can really help with your initial DPS. Hit him for a few, Aimed and Multi if you're confident you won't need the mana later on, but try to keep your pet up. When you eventually take aggro, you have two options: Simply feign him off and pop everything you've got in an attempt to finish him, or if your pet's really low, hold aggro on Rotgrip for a few. Deterrence could help you dodge his leeching strike, which would really help with staying alive and killing him faster. Fire off a Distracting Shot too if you're going all-in. You should be able to hold him long enough with or without Deterrence for stacks to drop off your pet, and then feign as you would in scenario one. I advise spamming Mend Pet right after the Feign Death to get your pet back up to full. Then, you can Rapid Fire and go ham without worry that your pet won't survive. It's a guaranteed kill if you account for Rotgrip's damage output with a little aggro hopping and smart Mend timing. Also, in case you might be wondering, I usually end up popping Rapid Fire around 40-60%. Ashjre'thul murders this croc. With an inferior weapon, 30-40% is a very safe bet for Rapid Fire. Well, that's my two cents. Hope it helps.

    Hunter Macros & Tips [Redux]

Hey there, fam ^^ You're very welcome! It's my pleasure. Let's see... on Elysium, Lupos should be absolute BiS at the moment, so if you get the chance, try to get him! He's hard to find but oh-so worth it. At least, worth it until he gets nerfed into a normal wolf at some point shortly before AQ... and I wouldn't recommend a Wind Serpent until Zul'Gurub comes out, since they'll only have rank 5 Lightning Breath until then. Once ZG is out, you can tame a Son for rank 6. But, pardon me, I digress. Cats are the least responsive of the popular trio of raiding pets on account of their hard focus dumps. Whereas a wolf has no focus dumps and will Dash as long as it's not on GCD, and whereas a Wind Serpent is a toss-up with Lightning Breath having no cooldown, but costing 50 focus (so it may or may not have enough for dive), Cats will spam Claw and Bite all the time. The best advice I could give for keeping your cat alive in a raiding environment is to give it a ton of stamina and resistance suitable for the raid you'll be doing. The stamina is good for soaking up more damage in general and the resistance will act like armor against raid mechanics, occasionally reducing the amount of fire damage your cat takes. It's not as reliable as armor, but it's something. Armor, on the other hand, is totally useless in a raiding environment on a pet, so don't give your pet any at all if you want to make the most of your points. Be proactive about controlling your cat. Since it will likely fail to use Dash on the way out, pull it back a little earlier than you would other beasts, before that deadly mechanic goes out! If you leave it at your side for a few after it's been injured, a healer should toss a little something its way, or if you get the opportunity, Mend Pet, yourself. Oh, and keeping a pet alive will take practice! Bring it to each boss thinking, "Okay, how do I approach this?" And be ready to use some pet control macros. You'll get used to the added mechanics of pet control versus Molten Core eventually! Some boss advice: And trash details: That should be all the bosses and trash. Hopefully that helps. Good luck on your next raid!! If you need anything else, just let me know ^^

  19. Hey there, folks! https://elysium-project.org/bugtracker/issue/4413 Here's a thread about Badge of the Swarmguard being broken. It's nice for hunters, and I have one, so I'm spreading the word about it being broken. Please log in to Elysium's website and upvote it so the folks doing fixes see it soon!! Thank you <3 It might look like you can upvote without logging in, but it doesn't really work. You must be logged in to Elysium's website in order to upvote the thread. If you care, don't forget to browse the other hunter bug threads and upvote them too if you think they're pressing concerns! Here's a search for hunter threads on the bug tracker: https://elysium-project.org/bugtracker/search?title=&labels[]=2&milestone= Edit 1: my guildie says there's a "github" for Elysium. Apparently that's better for getting bug reports noticed, so I'm gonna look into it and update this thread when I have more info. Edit 2: I posted a thread there as well. Hopefully this bug can be fixed soon! https://github.com/elysium-project/server/issues/670 Thanks for reading, folks!

Badge of the Swarmguard bugtracker thread!

According to the github, the code has been "merged." I believe this means it will go into effect on our servers during some future update, along with other "merged" data. Correct me if I'm wrong, I dunno how all this techno-hooey works. I hope that day is soon. :)

Best way to leveling low level pet

I humbly thank you for reading. I'm glad it helped. :D Lupos is THE hands-down best PvE pet until he gets nerfed. Just make sure you keep him in melee so he can do the damage he does, as with any other wolf. His shadow damage pre-nerf is, as Shaze said, very useful against plate wearers, but it's kind of annoying fighting a tank anyway. So, you may as well leave that to your mage friend. If Lupos is nerfed, Deathmaw is recommended for his slightly better attack speed. Broken Tooth is a favored PvP pet for anti-caster because of the attack speed, also as Shaze said. Hunters can be pretty hard on casters, and Broken Tooth only makes it better. Of course, your Broken Tooth will not be able to interrupt via damage if that mage has Ice Barrier, priest has Power Word: Shield, or warlock has Void Sac, so don't think he'll solve ALL your caster problems. Broken Tooth can also be used just fine in PvE! Cats are very nice damage, though its rare his physical attacks will outperform Lupos pre-nerf. It's also worth noting that while certain beasts, like wolves, have abilities put on cooldown and always have focus available for Dash, a cat will be focus starved by spamming Claw all the time, so one may not be as responsive as a different beast. I've been using a Wind Serpent for a while now and they are quickly becoming one of my favorite beasts. Their instant ranged breath is great for all of my needs. I tag people off flags in BGs with Dive + Lightning Breath if I'm a little too far away to make it in time, they're fun in raid encounters (bouncing between you and Battleguard Sartura in AQ40, for instance, or booping the enemies that pop up for a second or two before the melee eat them during Razorgore phase 1), great on trash (can DPS from out of a Death Talon Overseer's cleave range), and they're very effective for pet pulls. Since I do the pulling for my guild's raids, having a pet that can tag a pack of Vekniss Guardians and get back to me alive, possibly without a scratch, is very convenient. Their breath is also magic, which can be a plus in some places. It will deal extra damage to nature-vulnerable foes in Blackwing Lair, which can include Chromaggus at times. Another plus side to the Lightning Breath costing 50 focus per cast is that your Wind Serpent is more likely to have focus for Dive in case of emergency repositioning, given that they will often have enough for Dive, but not enough for Lightning Breath. As for timers, Broken Tooth was confirmed to have a four hour respawn time on Anathema and Darrowshire, although if they broke it or it doesn't apply to Elysium, then I'm sorry, I don't know the time. Lupos I don't remember, and Deathmaw's respawn time on Anathema is less than five hours. Don't have an exact timer on him. There are no noteworthy rare Wind Serpents, but there's a rumor the white ones in Sunken Temple on the green dragon level have a faster attack speed than other Wind Serpents. This remains unconfirmed and no archive I know of affirms this claim. Figured I should say it anyway, just in case you wanted to check it out. Hope that helps. Good luck and happy hunting!

Best way to leveling low level pet

Yeah, the Rake's nice at level 10 but he's not particularly incredible. Either pick up Broken Tooth at 37 or around that level, or go up to 60, then tame him and level him up. Your Tame Beast must have been resisted, as can sometimes happen, and you'll just have to hope it doesn't happen next time. Lupos resisted my tame THREE TIMES in a row, and I was level 60 when I got him. For leveling a pet up quickly, I point you in the direction of my pet tutorial's "combat training" segment. See the "Hunter Macros & Tips [Redux]" thread and head to section 3.2.2. The aforementioned segment falls between 20:53 and 26:53. You can find other segments' time stamps linked in the description. Hope that helps. Good luck and happy hunting. :)
