Hey there. That script is too long for the standard 255 characters allowed in a macro. If you lack an addon like SuperMacro, the script may be incomplete, and that's why it's spamming you. If you do have one such addon, I don't know why it's causing whatever error you have - it works fine for me. In section 2.2.3, a third macro is listed below that one, and it does fit in the 255 character limit. See for further details. Replace the third line with this: /script if not IsAutoRepeatAction(3) then CastSpellByName("Auto Shot"); end And, perhaps, it'll work better. Please do remember to change the 3 in that line to wherever you have your Auto Shot on your bars!

Heh. Everyone seems to think of the BC pet when I bring this thing up :p If you care to give it a try on Anathema, or whichever server you're on, here are some new general rules for it: 1. Using abilities will interrupt Bladestorm. You need a macro that prevents rank 1 Wing Clip from going off if Bladestorm is active, otherwise spamming it will instantly cancel Bladestorm. Note that because Deterrence has the same icon, it will also prevent Wing Clip from being used if Deterrence is popped, but that's okay because you cannot dodge or parry during Bladestorm on Anathema. Here's a macro for it: /run local i,x=1,0 while UnitBuff("player",i) do if UnitBuff("player",i)=="Interface\\Icons\\Ability_Whirlwind" then x=1 end i=i+1 end if x==0 then CastSpellByName("Wing Clip(rank 1)") else end 2. Bladestorm will be cancelled if the target you procced it on dies. You must target whatever has the highest health. Its proc rate seems to be less and while it can tick three times, it sometimes ticks two anyway. I don't know the cause of that yet, though I've been experimenting here or there to figure it out. It's still effective, but it's no longer capable of being a tanking weapon like it was on Kronos, and if you use it for DPS, you should try and get a feel for when's a good time to hop out of melee and resume ranged damage given its on-death cancel idiosyncrasy. Real pity about the Ravager. Tanking Sunken Temple with constant AoE and simultaneous avoidance was a lot of fun. It's been a thing since Nostalrius 1.0. You have a fair point that it's unintended and could be fixed, but it hasn't in literally years. So, y'know, I doubt it. I think to edge out the most damage possible, more talents need to be put towards Beast Mastery for pet crit and damage, though the late Survival talents are quite important. Well, if you're going for tanking, it can be helpful for your health pool. I see Survivalist as either more of a PvP confrontation talent (I play hit-and-run, so I usually don't take it) or a raiding talent, where you have a little more room for error while massive raid damage is going out. For taking direct damage all the time in PvE, it's just more HP before you have to eat, or more HP that has to be healed up. Health pool's important, but I see armor as more valuable for tanking the common direct physical damage in dungeons and the world. At least we have extra dodge and parry talents to use for avoidance. Actually, I think Wyvern Sting is rather underappreciated. It can be used to incredible effect, and I've personally sealed the deaths of one or several opponents with clever use of the sting, but I don't think it's particularly useful for this specialization. Indeed, it can be used for staggered pulls, but I doubt it's as effective as, say, the stun or aggro of Intimidation. Your pet can tank and damage one mob in a multi-mob pull, and keep aggro very easily with Intimidation, or if you absolutely must get a strike off, Intimidation will prevent your target from dodging or parrying your next attack. You can still miss, but, you know, there's that. Innovation is never unwanted. Even if it doesn't pan out, the act of exploration can increase one's understanding of their class. Wha... wait, really? How in the heck do you plan to manage leveling up eight characters in Vanilla WoW? Gee. That's some dedication right there. lol But, uhh, yeah. Take your time, fam. I guess. :p

Back on Kronos, the Ravager was great for hunter AoE, possibly even BiS. With explosive trap / engi bomb damage on top of bladestorms, you could do crazy burst AoE damage. I topped DPS over other hunters - even those with Ashjre'thul - on Core Hound packs before Magmadar in Molten Core with the thing. It's absolutely inferior for sustained single-target DPS, though the AoE works. It don't work the same way here on Anathema, but perhaps you'll find this humorous or interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e70dtOAUPfc I disagree with some of your talent choices. Feign Death works 100% of the time on Anathema, so you don't need Improved Feign Death. Survivalist, eh, I guess it can help if you tank stuff often but I didn't use it while tanking Sunken Temple back on Kronos. Wyvern Sting I doubt would be very effective in this spec; you can use it to keep one mob off you for about twelve seconds, but I'd say you'd lack the damage to capitalize on the CC. Here are some other ideas: http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#cVV00xxoZZIxbbRhux http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#cVV0zxgoZZIxbiRhz The latter is more tanky than the former. All in all pretty interesting thread you got here. Lot of thought about this. I hope to see a demonstration of potency at some point in the future.

does troll racial(berserk) increase "aimed shot" charge(cast time)

It works on Anathema. I main a hunter, so. :p -

Can't you just test it yourself? Don't you play a hunter? Or you could ask a hunter on Elysium server. I play Anathema, so there's not much I can do about it. -

This was on Nostalrius 1.0, and it worked the same way on Kronos, and it continues to work the same way on Anathema. Edit: The timer I used was rais_AutoShot. Some people ran into issues with it, but it's always worked reliably for me. Here's a link: http://www.mediafire.com/file/lthyfecdl8v2yoq/rais_AutoShot.zip My friend Rhyna recently improved the timer, but it's new and I haven't had the chance to work with it yet. Here's his version: https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/38332-addon-yaht-yet-another-hunter-timer/ -

Quick Shots reduces Aimed Shot's cast to 2.31 seconds, Rapid Fire reduces it to 2.14 seconds, and both simultaneously reduces it to 1.65 seconds. -
Thank you, Rhyna! I'm gonna update my thread with a link to this ASAP. :D

is there a talent calculator for 1.12? also, best specs for hunter?
Raziya replied to Fedartairin's topic in Hunter
I leveled MM / Surv and had fun. Not the fastest way to level - BM obviously - but I'm more concerned with having fun. For PvP, I enjoy MM / Surv, but your choice in talents will drastically change how capable you are in a battleground. For instance, Scatter Shot will give you a critical defense mechanism to stave off aggressors, while Wyvern Sting will provide an incredible support power, if it's used to great effect. unjkeee is right that any spec could work for hunter PvP. So you play around and see what you find the greatest success with :p -
1v2 not good? I disagree. Quite the contrary - hunters can take on two targets more easily than other classes. Traps, kiting, that Wyvern Sting sleep... 1v3 is even possible, though it's conceivably quite difficult, and partially dependent on enemy class composition, among other things.

I dunno how it works on the other servers, but on Anathema and Darrowshire, it seems that he can spawn at all three locations and the spawn time is roughly 4 hours. Given that when I tamed him on Anathema, he was on a 7.5 hour respawn down to the very second, and he only spawned at the tree, I'm inclined to believe that it's been changed among all the servers and the above time is the new respawn time and the above locations occur on all the servers. Just throwin' my two cents in here.

Yeah, hunters are simple to learn and difficult to master. If you learn the tools at your disposal, that's the first step to becoming great :p Fizzlestix has the right idea. Oakenlix is right about this as well - hunters excel when they can free-cast, more-so than other classes under some circumstances. You'd benefit from either being stealthy when you're alone and coming out of nowhere with your Aimed Shot crits, or from fighting behind a friend or two.

Gray mobs work on Anathema. I leveled two pets with mobs gray to me. If they don't work on the server you're on, you can tell your pet to stay somewhere relatively safe - in like an LoS spot, not necessarily far away - and grind the mobs at the Altar of Storms in the Blasted Lands. It's pretty quiet, only miners, herbers and questers seem to come up that way, and the mobs are relatively easy to kill. You could also try the blood elves in Azshara, when I killed them they had no armor and my Autos did like 600+ to them in not-so-great gear. They're green to a 60.

Extremely high skill cap for hunter PvP. There's a lot to consider. It can be quite a strong class, and it's also very fun in my opinion. I don't have time to get into detail right now, but thought I'd just leave a reply anyway. :p I'm sure someone else can explain the intricacies in the meantime.

Hi Elysium devs and GMs! Umm... back on Nostalrius, I believe I did the quest which rewards Nature's Whisper at some point and vendored the neck. I was new to vanilla at the time and didn't realize it was important. My guild asked me to get that neck before AQ comes out, NR gear and all, and, uhh... well, now I can't get it. I'm Raziya on Anathema now. Is there ANYTHING y'all can do to help me out here?
-
Fair point. I had a ton of NR gear back on Nost 1.0 before the shutdown, but I apparently went for it at the wrong time 'cause it was all gone when Nost re-launched. lol The amount I need to go for is 255. I'm trying to get all I can for it. :p
-
15 NR? Well gee! Again. Why is the 8 one on this spreadsheet lol Thanks guys. :) Appreciate the help.
-
Really? :c Well gee. Where am I gonna get an NR neck?
-
In hindsight, you're probably right about the word, but regardless, my request still stands and I want to know if there's anything that can be done about it.
-
@Fridolin @EddieHunter Any time, guys <3 Just lemme know if something's missing so I can add it. :) I'm gonna get around to some new video tutorials eventually, been really busy. You know how it is. lol
-
It's pretty mana inefficient for sure, but its maximum power can fit in okay in the right situation. I got caught by a 60 warrior in Searing Gorge at level 56 back on Kronos, and with Serpent Sting, Immolation Trap, and a few Bladestorms under Deterrence, I killed him in melee before he killed me. So, y'know, that worked out at least :p And prior to level 10, of course. That also helps.
-
I didn't use Serpent Sting or anything if I could help it. Just good ol' max-rank Aimed Shot and rank 1 Multi-Shot. If you use a higher rank of Multi-Shot while leveling, it's gonna OOM you much faster.
-
Or you could check the little happiness icon next to your pet frame in the default vanilla UI :p
-
gotmilk's right about boars being awesome leveling pets. I haven't run into the happiness meter bug at all though... Here's a guide. You can find macros and addons and near the bottom of the original post are video tutorials. https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/29824-hunter-macros-tips-redux/ Leveling without a pet is made much easier by stutter stepping, but that can take practice. Essentially, it's that you step back while your Auto Shot is on cooldown, and stop when it's off cooldown to fire off a shot. Enemies can die before they even touch you, even prior to level 10. See "The Hunter's Toolkit," Serpent Sting segment (in the description) for a low-level example. I'm also inclined to agree with gotmilk that going overboard on addons right away can make it more difficult to learn your way around, especially without an explanation. The addons I've linked in my thread at this juncture are mostly quite minimal, such as a simple Auto Shot timer or a pet ability finder, and I've included configuration instructions, if that helps. Have fun. :D
