I agree with what has been said above, it gets really annoying, especially when you're Raid leader or simply talking to a friend in game instead of using Vocal softwares. @Admins It is nonsense to block restrict the chat on long-term, but I can imagine you guys did that to slow the gold seller spam until you got a better solution. Maybe banning them for a short period is a solution, since you cannot ban all these hacked accounts permanently.

First of all, you need to be level 8 in order to whisper other players. Secondly, they've made some chat restriction to reduce the gold sellers spam by a lot, something like a week ago. Now you cannot send more than 4 messages in the chat every ~minute or something like that or you'll get the mute state. To finish with, 99% of the spammers are hacked accounts. Yes, they are, and it is the same on retail, and this is why Blizzard takes the time to investigate botters/sellers accounts before banning them, because they are players' accs.

If you're too pissed to get killed or "ninja'd" by 60s, then hurry up on getting Lv.60 yourself instead of hard pushing professions. Do you really think people would gently change their method of farming just because you're QQing about it ? I don't know what's happening in people's head when they make such useless threads.

It really depends on your Internet Provider. But anyway, people are sharing IPv4, for instance I am currently sharing my IP with 7 other people right now. This is especially true in China where many people run under the same people eventho they're hundred of kilometers from each others without even knowing who else have the same IP. It is a networking known issue and the reason we're slowly but surely migrating (I mean, in IT Networking world) to IPv6 is because all the IPv4 combinations are already owned/beeing used. Also bear in mind that, like it is/was on retail, most if not all the accounts spamming gold ads are hacked account, banning these accounts is not a solution either. tl;dr you cannot IP ban.
