Suggestion and Appeal to the Elysium Team <3
khalismur replied to killerduki's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
The server is under DDoS apparently. AQ is late and they are probably trying to get it done fast. Many cheaters and boters still around. Do you think fixing a failed spec should have priority over these other issues? -
Is there a list for such pets pre-normalizing? What is special about Takk?

Dude..... you have two eyes, like all hunters without eye-patches. The left eye ALWAYS on pet, the right on on the enemy. I ban them, yes.

Omg how many pages of this thread were deleted? -
Nope

It matters not if it was leaked. Open source code is safer than closed source. Seeing it leaked and therefore was unsafe, organizing a public repo is a very good idea indeed. Too many people with zero knowledge about FOSS development commenting about "hackers making it more hack friendly"... Please go to wikipedia and read about FOSS before posting about shit you have no idea of.

wow nice!! Really an awesome step forward. What's the source management system you use? Links?

Just curious how the coding works
khalismur replied to RNGIdentity's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
You can run the client provided by blizzard in an environment where you can monitor it's outputs and inputs. Good thread monitoring tells you how the client works. Then it is possible to write a software that handles those inputs and outputs. -
Making money without gear after hack
khalismur replied to Goldenboy043's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
fish till you get 2g. will be enough for a set of simple green gear of your level, except for weapon. Either quest without weapon till you get one, or fish another 50s. -

Read your own post, lifealert. would kill code competition, but players would choose the less P2Wish server, or the server with the best staff, best events, less amount of shady stuff, etc. How can us players not benefit from that? The concurrence will shift to providing the best experience and transparency / good service, not who has the best scripted raids or w.e. -

Every single commit is progress and eliminates the redundancy of inventing the wheel again and again. Instead of doing what someone already did, they could all build on top of it. -

Yeah... If a private server is non profit, I don't see the point in not opening the source. As you said and me as well before, P2W copies of good servers would pop, but people should have the brain power to judge where they want to play. Asked Elysium, Nost before it, Asura and Kronos what they think about OS development. From those, only Asura (CF) answered with: "I don't want others to profit off my work." Sadly, if he doesn't want to profit himself, which he says and I believe is the case, I don't really understand why not open source it. There must be another reason. -

This argument doesn't have much sense to it either. While some folks will probably indeed open cash grab P2W servers with the improved emulator, I think the players are not retarded and can judge them and chose where to play. The gains from an open development are greater than the downsides. -

Zhang, do you know what you are talking about? Developing an open source software that emulates an official server suite is illegal how?? lol -
"Crestfall withdraws from the Legacy Network" ?
khalismur replied to Nevarion's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Nothing except promisses an some videos. And hopefully it stays that way. The huge Elysium's hype is turning its fast-paced death an ugly thing to see. Nonetheless, since the alternatives are quite bad, people have high hopes for CF. -
google -> 'arch wiki wow' many good and practical info there regarding optimizations. should apply to most distros.
-
Well I've said there are no devs but some folks on page 1 insisted they are still coding for elysium from somewhere. Quite sad, yes. I might go back to kronos or wait for cf.
-
Well he asked for "Linux version", not for distribution or wine version. I use wine 2.1-1 under Manjaro.

Kernel 4.9.9

Yeah sure. Ignore all the other information. There are little signs of activity from any of those, when something, then in russian.. Only one of them has posted in english recently. Many of those left already or have been innactive for a long time. Retard? For what, being realistic? There is no reason to play here, knowing the server can break anytime / be exploited without fixes / no new content (AQ, bugged quests) released. I'd actually label 'retard' one who still believes that elysium will be around for a long time after all of this.
-
Errr yes I can. The previous LEAD developer, Yaga, left a few days ago.
-
You still can't give me a link to ONE elysium developer account in the forums though, right?
