There is no source that shows that this item was available during classic at all. "It is in the data base" is no argument. The Twin Blades of Azzinoth were part of the game too, but never available to players at all. Therefore it is a bug that such a strong armor is available :)

The spell that Ony and Nefarian use is called Bellowing Roar and applies a common fear effect, similar to the warlock spell. An old WoWwiki entry of Aggro gives us more insight regarding your question: I played Alliance and dwarf priests were pure gold for encounters like Nef due to their Fear Ward racial priest spell. But of course, a Warrior can just stance dance to neutralize the fear effect, just like explained in this old Nefarian guide: Here is an example of a classic Nefarian raid as alliance, using fear ward and stance dancing to prevent chaos. Here is another example of a classic Onyxia raid as alliance - look at the fear ward rotation! Easymode ;) I guess it's in the nature of humans, not to share failed raiding attempts. I was not able to find a classic Nefarian or Onyxia raid, where people are not dealing properly with the dragon's fear.

Outside of a raid, you can not always count on having a paladin. And in dungeons you get more out of one shaman than from one paladin, if you just look on raw buffs for yourself. 66 Agi is more than NE start Agi plus 10% of your whole Agi. You also get MP/5 and a major Strength bonus. It's actually the Judgement of Wisdom that I miss most, personally... The Tauren ability "War Stomp" is a gem in many situations. You can shift out, use it and have enough time for casting Regrowth. It's serves well on your way from 1-60 and is cool in dungeons. It's just the raids where Nightelfes are "clearly superior" (to quote the poster above me). And raids are only one facett of this game :) btw, if you want to tank raid bosses and can't count on a bunch of dwarf priests, then you will value Tremor Totem of a shaman very highly ^^

A holy priest uses Stratholme Holy Water here and it deals a lot more damage than the tooltip suggests. I would argue that this is a proof for your claim, that it should scale with spelldamage.

I actually played on that 1x rate lvl 60 realm they had long before Emerald Dream and which they transformed into an instant lvl 60 realm. So I am sorry but my interest in Emerald Dream was never serious in the first place *rofl*

Sometimes I wonder if some of you really played retail at all. 10-12 months of waiting for new content has been a common situation before each new expansion. Blizzard made even false promises again and again to reduce that gap next time, which they didn't. And you troll the Elysium Project team for breaking promises? You think a delay of AQ will kill Anathema? Oh damn, you really did not play retail at all!

Level a char with an uncommon spec, play a a char selffound, try out PvP as engineer, do some exploration and walljumping in the world, built a low level PvP twink, make speed runs in dungeons, complete your recipes, farm reputation with the Shen'dralar, try out a roleplay guild, make your own WoW video, level a char with a friend and try out dungeons with just two players,... AQ20/40 will be boring just like MC/BWL/Only/ZG, if you concentrate on it and have a burn out after finishing the progression. :(

As far as I am informed, there is no BC planned for any of the Elysium-Project realms.

I recently farmed General Angerforge in BRD with a lvl 58 rogue friend without problems. I was surprised what you can achieve as druid tank. If you have some gear (Warden Staff, Cloak with high armor, rings/trinkets with armor) then you have around 35% damage reduction in caster form. Add Barkskin to that (20%) and you wear plate and are 15 secs immune to spellpushback. There are many situation, where you can shift out at ~50% life, heal with Healing Touch, Regrowth and Rejuvenation and switch to bear form with 2 HoTs ticking. Innervate allows for a second repeat. I also farmed Roccor alone when I hit lvl 60 and had pathetic gear. For the trinket recipe, of course ;) Btw, if you are around lvl 45, try to do the Centaur Pariah quest in Maraudon for Mark of the Chosen. It's great for farming and soloing stuff, especially for druid and paladin.

Horde could be cool with +66 agi totem, but in 99% of cases, people will argue that you don't need that but the melees need Windfury. Therefore Alliance > Horde due to Blessing of Kings. In Raids, you even get the other blessings, too! Totems are only grp wide and have a pathetic range. I also envy Judgement of Wisdom, the mana is great for feral cat gameplay.

Even the storage medium for data backups of Elysium is pure nostalgia!

Rebirth, another private server tried that many times during the years and it never helped. In general it only upsets the playerbase and I would suggest to skip that failed idea alltogether :)

I suspect the "autistic drama" to be the main reason for a decline, together with a natural end of the hype. There are also many other small reasons like upcoming spring, new games and server instability as well as other issues like gold spam, the atmosphere and so on. My prediction is, that we will see a rise of population on Anathema after AQ launch. I also guess that Darrowshire will slowly grow at some point again, because there is no alternative for PvE gamers. The whole ZethKur dilemma is sad and deep in our hearts, we always knew that it was only a temporary solution for a peak in population. If I ponder over the future, then I come to the conclusion that after Naxx release and progress raiding on all servers, they will most likely merge Elysium and Anathema if population decreases heavily.

Lily Root is bugged on Elysium. You can't use it in combination with a mana potion. :(

It is a difficult topic. It is about open source, leeching and seeding, about moral and selfishness. It's a thread about the question: Should Elysium release their code at some point on github? When Nostalrius shut down, they announced that "source code & documentation will be release to the public". They have never done that. And I doubt they ever will. It's so sad, because for one moment, the Mangos community was very happy to finally see a project to not just leech but also share back fixes! What a shame. Shame! Shame! Shame! *ding ding ding* TheLuda, the founder of Mangos, even praised the announcement and that it "would make Nostalrius the first vanilla server project that actually contributes back to the original core in 11 years of project existence.". Poor TheLuda. :( Well, the code is not entirely abandoned. It is still used on Elysium and people work on it. It's hard work, I promise you that. Database fixes are one thing, but scripting stuff without breaking other random things is an art! The voluntary work on Elysium is invaluable. Without the devs, we would be almost nothing. And that brings me to my point... Why does this work always have a Damocles blade above it's head? It looks like the managers of the project could just "pull the plug" if they want or have to (evil letters written by Blizzards brigade of lawyers work wonders!). That means all the work would be lost. That was the case in how many cases? In all cases! Every single private server that fixed things took these fixed into their cold icy grave. RIP I liked the idea of a Legacy Gaming Network. It was a noble idea. And I think the spirit of the project should prevail. Share your fixes with Mangos. Every single one of them. Let the emulation scene grow. Be the big beacon that shows the whole private server community how to be a good example. You can help to make the vision true that we will have an almost perfect emulation of classic World of Warcraft available for anyone. I know some people are afraid that people would abuse the core. Well, Mangos is already quite amazing today. They even have some fixes that Nostalrius/Elysium lack. If I compare AQ40 on Mangos today and on Mangos 5 years ago, then I am shocked, because it became so much better. So much work has been done, but it could have been much faster if people had shared their work for years already. Wouldn't that be cool if we had AQ and Naxx fully scripted in stock Mangos already today? Common, you would like that! I also don't agree to the argument, that this would divide the community. Instead, I think it would unite the legacy community. Elysium could make history as the project that used it's influence for the good of the whole classic emulation scene. Therebirth announced that "after the shut down [they]'ll prepare to release the code and databases.". They were a small server but their code was quite advanced. It will be interesting to see how it helps the Mangos community and if it ignites the development in positive ways. I advice to observe this process and to think about the fundamental principles on which open source projects are based. Thank you.
