I was referring to the difference in the tier between dagger and sword rogues. Use the spreadsheet for questions like that, no one can give you a more educated guess.

It depends on your alternatives, but yes, it's not currently bis. They didn't nerf it, they fixed it. It goes for both dagger and sword, there's very little difference.

[EU] Dreamstate - #1 Horde - Nostalrius PvP
Netherfrost replied to Dreamstate's topic in Guild Recruitment
Bumps. Looking for a Prot Warrior, Resto Druid, and Shamans. Dont hesitate to apply if you believe you can replace current members of our roster. -
Put the skill on an invisible extra bar. Smart guy. (sorry I had to)

Thats partially twisting the truth, the value of weaponskill diminishes significantly point by point from 300 and onward, but there is no such as a cap. It will always boil down to stat gain versus stat gain. 5.26% increase in damage on 40% of your hits is still a decent change. 310->310 would end upbeing around a 1,05% damage increase assuming 50% of your damage is from whites.

Theres a much lower amount of whelps tho, and thats atleast what we had the most issues with. (not saying its easier)
-
4 might be possible overall, your healers just have to be able to not go oom without the rogue, seeing we were BiS and had some 1.12 items back then on ED - you might be able to do it as 3 currently on alliance tho.

It basically varies depending on what formula the server "chooses" to go for since there are compelling arguments on each side. Personally I think 315 is the most rational. Its commonly referred to as "Athans Formula". What do you want source for? There's a plentiful of thread on the nost forums repeating the same arguments over and over, you can also check the rogue guide which is pinned in this subforum. If you're still confused you're welcome to PM me.

And the 3 man version in naxx is technically pre-tbc, giving them the op talents. I can't see the video so I can verify it tho
-
Incorrect. Current formula caps at 315, and in addition to that, in doesn't "eliminate" glancing blows, they're still occurring but they simply deal 100% of your white hit damage. Meaning, they still can't miss or crit.

Buff Thunderfury (the not so legendary weapon)
Netherfrost replied to Plask's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I would have left a supporting comment with first hand TF experience, but then I remembered DS hasn't gotten a TF since 2012. However, I'd like to disagree with the consensus of "don't emulate items at their worst if you can't do it at their best" - It's a grey zone and you don't fix items just for the sake of fixing them, its not only a question of balance and immersion in players between eachother, but also in the pve environment. Soz, but I couldn't resist, at the very least it'll be a bump from here. -
This is certainly not the content I expected when I clicked on the thread.

War Effort Conerns
Netherfrost replied to painmachine696's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Have we heard anything about the passively generated 3.3% mats for the war effort? It should be clicking in now, but I haven't even heard their stand on the matter -
So the passive 3.3% regeneration won't be taking place? That's certainly one way to give merit to people's arguments when they're saying this is an attempt to buy time.
-
Well 310 to 315 is a bump of 5% (technically somewhere around 5.26) higher damage on your glancing hits, so whether it actually is worth depends on the alternative.

First of all, I'm not sure where you get this "should" from, Ive never seen a source for it and Id love to. Anyhow, I can assure you, Dreamstate did NOT use invis potions to skip the trash packs after vael. -
Just study properly uploaded legacy logs and youre gucci

Im not really aware whether its the same we have on Anathema currently. If you wanna see the original test at retail check http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/wowwiki/images/9/9e/GlancingReduction.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20060801063552 1 - (5*(pow(2,(victimDefenseSkill/5) - (attackerWeaponSkill/5) - 1))/100) Min: 0.6500 Max: 1 where pow(2, X) = 2^X Is what Nost was using 3-4 months into release. Im not sure whether some dude touched it afterwards I looked at it. This one with a 1- "formula"/100 to make it more clear. As far as on topic goes; if you want it for RP reasons, just take your pick. As alliance, If you want the highest dmg output, go human, ESP If you wanna go autist r14. If you're on AQ patch (using daggers), go NE for attributional stats +dodge. If you're feeling daggery and constantly using engineering pets on a blizzlike server, go gnome. (+15 skill makes pet 63 and no glancing). Whether its worth replacing an item with weaponskill, in change of another with higher basic stats, depends a lot. Just use ie soyoens spreadsheet and check the difference. You cant decide these matters with adjectives or napkin math.
