    Yet another Epic BoE situation

No, it means that if staff of jordan drops this cheap rogue can also roll it, sell and buy these much needed boots, instead of passing on it and still being cheap towards a much needed item. Honestly, if oyu don't have time to farm gold for a BiS BoE as a rogue and instead run dungeons and pray for it to drop... you simply put your time into wrong activity
  2. Frankly, if you end up in a situation where literally everyone will equip their BoEs as an upgrade of some sort - there will be no BoEs to buy from AH. That's sad that community want to resort to getting some sort of an upgrade because of your chosen class over giving other players fair chance to also improve their character
  3. That's just bullshit and people should be called out for doing that. But it's probably case of random level 30 blues you are talking about and not shit like, dunno, Gyth's Skull. I've never seen a single person needing on BoP item when he already had one

    Yet another Epic BoE situation

You are just upset that you didn't get what you wanted to fair rolls and are venting at this point. There is no reason within your arguing
  5. Good luck getting groups with that attitude It's like, seriously? People blame people rolling on BoE items for being ninja, while advocating rolling or simply taking away BoP items via masterloot (which is definition of ninjaing)
  6. That's your problem. You either specify loot rules, or need on all boe.

Tank stole a staff he shouldnt even use!?!

Maybe you was an asshole to him at some point of the game? There is clearly something missing from this story. Or the tank is heavy RPer and needed it for RP purposes, which is kinda weird, because he could make a reserve run for it
  8. So, you don't understand the difference between BoP and BoE items too. Gotcha. It's probably fine at your level of play then. Also you probably would want to know that there is a dungeon called Razorfen Kraul in southern barrens, it has a boss called "warlord ramtusk", he is surrounded with 2 guards each drops a polearm weapon worth ~2g when you sell them to vendor + loot from a boss himself (from 40s to 1g). I advice you to go there, kill these three, walk out, reset dungeon and repeat until you never need gold ever, then go back to doing dungeons with other people
  9. If anything, this poll how many people care about this "issue". Also, i wouldn't be surprised if some emotional people created multiple accounts to vote out of spite
  10. So, if an item has more stats you are obliged to roll on it? Don't you see obvious flaws in this system? Like, people are already salty about fury warriors taking all agility gear, and it gets ridiculous to the point of "hey, i'm a warrior tank but i roll on fury gear", which translates into "good luck anyone who uses agility OR strength, because i'm going to roll on ALL OF IT". And this i'm talking about BoP items, which are way less rare and less valuable than BoE items (because, you know, an item that gives you +2 int +8 stam compared to your current weapon, or an item that is traded for almost any other BoE item to replace your "weakest link" in equipment)
  11. Yes. People "greeding" greens are great example of how BoE system works - if you don't need a BoE - you greed it. That's why rare BoE are always "needed" - because they are needed, they are rare and expensive. You don't always sell them, you also send them to your guildmates, you also trade them, you also keep them for your alts. BoE items have way more uses than BoP - which are simply an upgrade for you current character. If you feel like you have no use at all for a 300g BoE item - roll greed. If you feel like you have no use at all for a 1g BoE item - roll greed. But show me a single person who would pass 300g to a stranger, i'll probably shake my head and die a little inside. It's like seeing a 14 years old in a friendzone
  12. So then, if i play, say, a hunter, and roll on all BoE weapons i get my hands on and refuse to equip them "because guys i tots don't have a skill yet, need to go to UD to learn it", others should pass on it because...? What happens when disagreement like "this piece is BiS for prot warrior!" and "but my piece also have more strength than my green level 41 shoulders!" are met? See, decision to "roll need when it's an upgrade" is EXTREMELY subjective, and this whole system is induces drama so hard that your party will probably just stop in its tracks when first BoE drops and will start fighting each other, instead of.. "grats" and move on
  13. It would be way more effective if you were a tank. Because there is always another hunter to replace you, sorry to say that.
  14. To paraphrase one popular saying: cry more, moo more. You guys do know how to make pvp sound really lame and your guild name kinda fits you being an edgelord
  15. Unintentional ninja much? How the fuck did he know about the drop, or he just randomly turn on master loot every time he gathers a group before monster dies? It's ninjaing for sure, but damn this is a rare situation to be in. Oh wait, it was FFA loot, then its definitely unintentional loot, but intentional keep. Doesn't change much, but for a second i thought that this dude is a magician
  16. Well lets go back to "equip if you roll need" system some people love so much here There is a +frost damage ring, a mage and a shaman rolls on it, shamans equips it and mages butt blows away in rage. How is that different? Now instead of getting ~100g off this item shaman just equipped it and will sell it for ~1g instead. And shaman is legitimate contender for this item because he has frost shock which is boosted by this item. I know, it's ridiculous, but good luck getting any BoE weapon if you have a hunter in your group with your system - because he can equip almost anything. But to answer your question - if "that Rogue" has all the gold he needs - yeah, he may pass on that. But as long as gold stays relevant (and i can't see how it will stop being relevant) he will be rolling need on BoEs. The only way to stop this is to make BoEs useless to the point of their cost dropping down significantly, to, basically, vendor cost.
  17. I am not offended by this conversation. I've been playing on arthas eu and warsong eu and neither of these servers had this "need=equip" rule, because BoE item had, well, more uses than just equip it (which was most of the time just a waste. Who would want to equip, say, pendulum of doom on level 40 character? It's just a waste of a great pvp twink item. You could potentially farm BoEs (and many rogue players did setup bots to do that) but you always run into a risk of investing fuckton of time and get literally nothing in return - it makes way more sense (if you refuse to spend gold on a BiS BoE for some reason) to farm a second best item. Like in the case of "BiS pre raid tanking BoE shoulders" - there is way easier to get your hands on blue shoulders with almost exactly same stats on dire maul, just go there couple of times and you are good to go, difference between BoE and BoP in this case is just 10% of stats. There is always BoP item that can replace BoE in sense of character progression, so if you don't want to spend gold on BoE you don't do two things: 1) Farm for them endlessly in "LFM X item reserved" groups 2) Bitch about people who don't pass this item to you. Instead you do: 1) Buy it on AH 2) Farm equivalent item After re-reading what i wrote it really sounds like i'm telling others how to play - i don't, i'm just advising the better way to do things than waste your time on pointless things and induce drama with strangers. So, yeah, feel free to say that you need this BoE more than someone else, just don't expect people to abide by these ridiculous "rules"
  18. I do, actually, state loot rules after bringing new guy in a group. And so far, when i wasn't a leader i've met only one person, who didn't need on BoE, and this guy was completely nuts i must add (you can find a thread about some sperm-guy, or seamen-something somewhere around here). I also do not accuse people in my pugs of anything, i accuse people here calling other players ninjas, while obviously having zero clue about what ninjaing is, in bullshitting and being whiny, needy, assholes who want everything for themselves.
  19. From two servers i've played on i never ever seen someone greed on BoE. It's server to server thing probably. But anyways, it's not the case of "whose opinion right", it's the case of being fair, and needing on BoE is more fair than passing it, because, you know, you too had you part in achieving this BoE. Now second point: Where exactly this "need only if you will equip it right away" ridiculous system stops? See this as an example a group of 30 levels, two warriors (tank and DPS), two shamans (heal and DPS) and a druid in SM:L sees a cobalt crusher drop (BoE two-handed mace), everyone rolls need on it (all warriors have class-axe and all shamans have superior corpsemaker, druid pretends to not know that weapons doesn't work in forms and they are basically statstics), and everyone will get upset over anyone in this group because they all are entitled to this system. or everyone just rolls need and no one bats an eye because it was fair roll for bag of cash. First "system" is drama-inducing and uses "my moral ground is higher than yours just because" joke-of-an-argument Second "system" - isn't. it's just more fair to everyone working together. I agree that loot rules should be discussed prior moving on to dungeon but that's never the case in these threads, isn't it? Because OPs are entitled people who want everyone to pass an expensive item to them because of them rolling X class are exactly that - entitled. I'm getting tired of repeating this, but BoE gear doesn't belong to you alone just because you can equip it.
  20. You are not stealing anything from anyone. All 5 party members worked towards this BoE and everyone have same chances for that BoE and will have same value out of it. Your entitlement towards gear is so ridiculous. Just listen to yourself, "this ring goes to mage because he is a mage and has more frost spells to throw", here, how dumb is it? If you try to be "rational" here - then again, you are not being rational, because you want to give up your chance to upgrade your character be passing on a BoE item, and expect everyone else to do the same because you say so.
  21. Being entitled to extremely random BoE items before they even dropped while everyone else also need these items is... kinda, not very social. It's not your item unless you rolled a 100 on it
  22. Everyone should roll need on it, because Freezing Band = Shanker of Faith for Rogue
  23. If you are going to roll need on all BoE greens - i wouldn't mind. But if i was an enchanter in need of mats i would say "will pay X for each BoE green after the dungeon" and collect them after we've done. If you want to disenchant rare BoE - if your pocket is going to sustain it, i'm fine. Warsong and Arthas EU, horde and alliance, always was "need on all BoEs" unless specified.
