Fair points and I have, yes. Forced queues are good for Elysium uptime, and the Blizzlike population is even better for ZK uptime.

And yet I'm speaking English, and you are struggling to find words that go together properly. I'm not playing because I'm at work. Jobs are useful in my life, though I don't judge yours for any lack thereof. (Kekly is derived from "kek", most people would know that on here by the way.)

98% is pretty unacceptable, yes. I use a lot of free services like Outlook/Gmail, CNN.com, and a ton of apps on my iPhone. Free doesn't mean unreliable. Also, I would learn to live with it if Elysium were the only realm they had. But it goes down for not just DDOS but overloading / overpopulation, and ZK doesn't suffer those problems, hence the much better uptime. Elysium will always be going down more frequently for as long as it has 8000+ people trying to connect at once. That's just the way Vanilla WOW was built.

The really kekly thing here is that he meant it the way I interpreted it, because English is not his first language. The typo would have been if he meant it the way Hurricane2 (likely) misinterpreted it.
  5. Ah, I figured you were trying to play on Oceania time. There's little problem in doing anything including raiding and WSG (Alliance-side) from North America or Europe. That being said, WSG queues are worse on Horde than Alliance
  6. It doesn't make it any easier to be overcrowded really, because the tank-to-DPS ratio remains the same (and very low on both realms).

Oh so you just had a second opportunity to deny it and failed to. Noted... (ZK has roughly twice the population of my 2005 Vanilla realm, by the way.)

If that's what he meant then there was a glaring typo preventing understanding. And kek at your obvious grudge, but you're quite the humorous judge of "digging holes."
  9. Again, I play in off-hours and have never had trouble finding anything I want on ZK. Are you on Oceania (Australia + New Zealand) time or something? It's no problem in North America.

Not true. I played on ZK for two weeks before it had more online than Darrowshire for the first time. It had more only at launch, but never in February. The basic point is that it isn't losing population relative to Darrowshire today. Not sure if English is your first language as the proper term is to "graduate" elementary school, not "succeed" elementary school. I went to major universities for both undergraduate and graduate school, by the way. Thanks for asking! EDIT: And thanks for confirming that you never played retail Vanilla. Let the adults speak about population.
  11. Put it more accurate terms: if you wanted Blizzlike, go Zeth'Kur. If you want an overpopulated, pirate-server feeling, go Elysium. It's easy to group up for anything at level 60 as long as you find a guild. There are plenty of guilds on ZK and Elysium and it only takes one.
  12. The ZK population "worries" are a meme that everyone actively makes fun of on ZK. Blizzard Vanilla retail servers in 2004-2006 had a max of 2500 online and in off-hours had more like 700 online. ZK today has 3000 at peak times and 1300-1800 in off-hours, so more than any actual retail Vanilla server ever had. The people talking about "population problems" are usually from Elysium trying to discourage a rival server from its traction, or sometimes ZK players who never played Vanilla when it was retail and don't understand that these realms weren't meant to have more than 3000 people on them at once (because, for example, respawns happen in 4 minutes in Vanilla instead of 20 seconds in Legion). Elysium had queues before it started going down all the time from DDOS. They claim it's temporary, but Elysium goes down all the time from server instability and overpopulation. It's not always DDOS. Most likely, they'll still have queues in the foreseeable future even if they called them "temporary."
  13. I would never recommend Elysium to new players because many quests are very difficult to accomplish with an overloaded population. There are also thousands of people waiting to kill you on the other faction at all times of the day, and it's awful. Yes. Zeth'Kur is the place to roll for new players. Agreed. Zeth'Kur is also more helpful to new players that the other realms. I don't play on primetime because I am from North America, and Zeth'Kur is actually in a great state. It has 1300-2000 people online at any "off-hour" I play from North America, and that is the perfect Blizzlike amount if they want to play WOW as it was originally intended (with a queue starting at 2500 people, not 5000 like Elysium). Spreading misinformation like this is a bad idea. Anyhoo, the consensus here is correct: Zeth'Kur is where I'd roll for new players. It isn't as progressed in the game as Darrowshire and Anathema, and there are still new guilds forming all the time. Those realms have had their communities since 2015 and aren't as welcoming as Zeth'Kur, which just started now in 2017. Elysium also started just a week or two before Zeth'Kur but the overcrowded population creates a lot of problems for questing as a lowboy. I started on Elysium a couple weeks ago, switched to Anathema, and switched again to Zeth'Kur. I finally found a Vanilla WOW server that feels like home!

Happened again this afternoon... Elysium went down hard while ZK was just purring along. I'd say Zeth'Kur has 99.9% uptime while Elysium is at something like 98% the past two weeks. That level of downtime on Elysium is frustrating and unacceptable for me, and part of why I switched to Zeth'Kur. Hopefully they institute permanent queues on Elysium to limit the downtime. It's just horribly unstable at 8000+ people online at once when Vanilla was designed for 2000-2500 max.

ZK has always had less than Darrowshire, and both have more than Blizzlike (limited to 2500 max). ZK has over 3000 on weekends, which is a little too many for me. You never played Vanilla on retail, and it shows (nub).
  16. I'm assuming since this realm used to be Nost. itself, most of the realm is North American. What percentage would you say are European, and do we think this number will increase now that the realm is physically hosted in Europe?
  17. If you don't want to move to Zeth'Kur, you are free to sit in the queue on Elysium. They're not forcing your hand. Personally I leveled up a warrior from 1 to 16 on ZK yesterday and like that realm a lot better anyway. It doesn't have all the frequent disconnects (disconnects which will now put you back into the queue). It has a Blizzlike population though, no Nostlike.

    Loging in elysium

Because the server is overpopulated and unstable. It brings stability to limit the number of concurrent connections to 5000 or 6000. If you regularly play on weekends, there will be queues from now on. If you aren't too high a level, I'd recommend leaving like I did and re-rolling on its twin server Zeth'Kur.
  19. No transfers. I wasn't too high a level and re-rolled on Zeth'Kur though. Never any disconnects in a week there after having them every day on Elysium.

    Back to Hour Qs?

Yes. Re-roll on Zeth'Kur (I did) if you don't have time for queues.
