Next step is to clear WDB folder and rename the entire WTF directory (there are saved variables that are character specific, but not stored in the character specific directory).

You've created a game account and a forum account, correct? They are separate.

If you're immediately disconnected, check that your realmlist is correct, and that that you config.wtf file has the correct realmlist entry and the realmName line set to Nighthaven.

Login issues for restoring characters have to be resolved on the Light's Hope end. Any restored characters will not be playable on Nighthaven, because it's a fresh realm. They are stored offline for eventual use with the Burning Crusade realm.
