The Fate of Nighthaven & future servers
Fulzamoth replied to Brynjulf's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Apart from the team split in October the Elysium Project has been stable for over a year now. Your characters from the old realms are stored away on Stratholme. That realm is offline though, so they remain unplayable for the time being. Our intention is to make them available for the Burning Crusade realm when it comes out. The project updates on the homepage give a history of how we got to where we are today, with our focus on Nighthaven and Stratholme offline. The original plan to create Nighthaven stemmed from players asking for a fresh realm. After the fresh realm was created, the old realms were merged and brought online as Stratholme. What was not expected was that interest in playing on Nighthaven would be so great that it left Stratholme with roughly 300 players peak times. Nighthaven was peaking at 5,500 within the first month. With so few players online Stratholme simply wasn't viable, and the team made the decision to take the realm offline rather than let it languish. In effect, it was players voting by where they logged in that led us to having only one realm. This is positive in that it means the team can focus on delivering a solid and stable progression experience over the next year while preparing for a new Burning Crusade realm to come afterwards. We plan to let players copy characters to the Burning Crusade so you can continue in your Vanilla play and carry on with the same characters on the new realm. The question often asked is why we haven't allowed transfers of old characters to Nighthaven? The easy answer is that on a fresh realm players generally don't want advanced level characters flooding into. The real reason is that besides being a policy decision the work to do transfers would be significant. The old realms were much further along in their content progression, so each transfer would require a review of the character quest chains, professions (for skills that shouldn't be in the current content), and items. Most high-level characters would be stripped of much of their gear and items, leading to players still being dissatisfied. The Elysium Project appreciates that players put time and effort into playing here. Our goal is to provide the best blizz-like Vanilla World of Warcraft experience possible during the time you spend playing. Thanks for choosing Nighthaven. -

How many items have you sent? Are the other players leaving items in mailboxes?
-
What is the exact error you are getting?
-
No, there are no transfers to Nighthaven. Restored characters are stored offline for use when TBC drops in case the other realms the characters are on get pulled offline. Nighthaven is all new characters.
-
Chat settings can be reverted to default by deleting (or renaming): WTF/Account/<name>/<realm>/<toon name>/chat-cache.txt

There was a maintenance window that night that had all services offline for a few hours. Note that your game account and forum account are separate accounts and not linked.

There is no 2FA in place on Elysium. Character restores go to an offline realm for use when TBC comes out. Nighthaven is a fresh realm with all new toons on it. There are no transfers to it allowed. -
There are no transfers of characters onto Nighthaven at all. Being a fresh server, only new toons are allowed. The restores store your characters on an offline realm for use when TBC comes out.

There is no 2FA active on Elysium at this time.

Can't get game working on new pc and can't log on with old one

Character restores may take multiple attempts (beyond Elysium's control), although be aware that you can't play restored characters at this time. They're held offline for use when TBC comes out. Nighthaven is a fresh realm with all newly rolled toons on it. If you're connecting to the wrong server, make sure your realmlist.wtf has only one line: SET realmList logon.elysium-project.org Make sure you're running the World of Warcraft executable, too, and not the Launcher. Launcher and Repair can both safely be deleted. -
A couple of things to note: You need to use whatever credentials you had back in September to restore characters. Restored characters are not playable right now. We are storing them to an offline realm for eventual use on the TBC realm. Everyone moved to Nighthaven, leaving the restored realm with just 300 players at peak times, which is just far too few to be playable.

Did you extract the archive? If you try and run the game from within the archive itself you'll get no end of errors about missing files. You have to extract all files into a directory first.
-
To be clear: you can restore, but that only stores them to Stratholme, an offline realm. They'll be available for copying to the TBC realm when it drops in about a year or so. Everyone rolled new on Nighthaven. Come join us there.
-
Make sure you've downloaded the correct 1.12.1 Warcraft client. Don't run the Launcher.exe (you can safely delete it in your Vanilla WoW install).
-
Turn off the stuff under Misc in Video Options to start. You can try renaming your config.wtf to go to the defaults to eliminate any other settings that might be causing your headache.
-
Not quite clear on what you're saying. Is it: you're level a level 16 rogue, you’ve got 5 points in the Master of Deception talent, mobs your level and 4-6 levels higher than you can detect you? What cave were you trying to stealth into?

I've tested and can't replicate the problem. Where exactly is the crash occurring?

Ayuda Busco Addons para la version en español
Fulzamoth replied to shirup1's topic in UI, AddOns & Macros
Most addons support different languages. Adding translations is usually as simple as copying the settings for another language, and then editing them to yours. One other hitch is that private servers are usually English only on the server side, which affects how some multi-language addons work. (sorry for English answer, I used translate on your question) -
2FA isn't available right now.
-
Nighthaven is a fresh server - everyone has to roll fresh on it. Restored characters are stored to Stratholme, an offline realm, for use when the TBC realm goes live in a year or so.
-
Name changes aren't offered at this time. There may be an opportunity to do this is future as part of paid service for cosmetic changes. There's no set plans yet, though.
-
Yep, a few players have reported it. A fix is in the queue. Thanks for the report.

Old toons are archived on Stratholme, but it was pulled offline once the team realized it was going to languish with fewer than 300 players. Nighthaven, as DarknessCalls points out, is a new fresh realm, and almost instantly becaame wildly popular with players. At only 6 weeks old, most toons are still leveling.
