Yes, it could have been done differently, but the amount of time involved in that would have been much greater, and had much more criticism. The plain and simple fact is when a bug like this occurs, it is gamebreaking for many, many players. We chose the route that will give players the lowest amount of downtime.

It's true though. We would have to go back into the logs and examine every single player that could have been affected by this. And this is something that all GM's do not even have access to, so only a portion of the GM team would be able to work on this. The server would definitely need to be down while the staff went over everyone's data and manually adjusting each player. A rollback isn't a perfect solution, but in this case, it is the best solution we have.

Hello, here is our specific rule about Griefing: D. Griefing Players can interact in a variety of ways, not all of them constructive. You may encounter players that steal resource nodes, chests, items, lead monsters to new areas and summon demons that raise havoc. Elysium staff will not intervene in these situations as the community may take measures concerning these players. However, behaviour that is considered to be contrary to the essence of the Game will be considered a violation of this agreement. Such behaviour is considered griefing which includes, but is not limited to, the following: Summoning demons at the initial starting zones of new players; Intentionally killing or disabling important quest NPCs for an extended period of time; Intentionally causing any of the four demons for Stave of the Ancients to despawn; Intentionally causing The Cleaner to appear during The Balance of Light and Dark; Intentionally interrupting or negatively influencing a raid group that is currently engaged in ANY world boss encounter on the PvE realm with either faction characters; Intentionally interrupting or negatively influencing a raid group that is currently engaged in ANY world boss encounter on the PvP realms with same-faction characters. World boss encounters are unique circumstances, and resolution will be determined at the discretion of the attending GM. For same faction on PVP & all raid groups on PVE - we strongly suggest a "first come, first serve" mentality when encountering world bosses.

Hi Ickus, As far as I can tell, there have been no setbacks to this date and they should auto-complete tomorrow. I do want to note that the QA/Dev team stated that the date might get pushed back some if any issues come up, but I have not heard of any. I will get a QA or Developer to confirm for you!

"Oh, I didn't realize gold spam is a problem here!" ... Said no staff ever. We actively combat this kind of spam every day. Unfortunately a consequence of this is the more effectively we combat it, the more you see desperate spam like this. The truth is, gold sellers are fighting a losing battle. We are able to accurately identify parties on both sides, their success rate is extremely slim. Your previous thread was closed for the same reason this one will be too. This is a very apparent issue staff actively deals with every day, and if you experience this in game, you should make a ticket about it and report it. Making threads like this is pointless, and to be honest when I see things like this, it is no different than pointless spam.

No thank you!! It does nothing but give an "illusion" of population increase, while not actually increasing the population. I understand retail and other private servers allowed multiboxing, but we do not and as far as I know, we aim to keep it that way. The number of negative consequences from multiboxing far outweigh the benefits. I was going to keep this thread open to allow and encourage discussion, but on second thought I won't. We will be allowing transfers to other servers from zethkur, so allowing this would basically be a workaround to not being able to multibox on Elysium or anathema. If we weren't going to allow transfers, then sure this is something that could be considered. Zethkur might be closing, but the character data will not cease to exist. Thanks for giving suggestions you believe will improve our servers, but this specifically just would hurt much more than it'd help.

Did you try using that config script we have stickied?

You can try running the application in compatibility mode for an earlier version of Windows. Also, you can try deleting your WTF folder as well and try seeing if that helps.

Try deleting your WDB folder. If that doesn't work, can you answer the other questions I asked?

Can you give me a bit of information? Have you been able to log in before? What operating system are you using? Are you running application as admin? Can you post your config.wtf? (Make sure to get rid of any private info from it on the post)

Hello, usually when issues like this arise, we need to look at standard economics. You have high demand, low supply and you get high prices like they were before. You significantly increase supply, and these items are much more readily available. Demand lowers, price lowers. Since this change happened so recently, it can easily be argued that the price for these items is not stable, so many players will actually put their price much lower than the actual stabilized price will end up being. We will see how the price stabilizes and if they sit at a reasonable place, and work on adjusting it from there, if necessary. The plain and simple truth is that we won't just change something because of the reaction it causes, because it is not stabilized. We would wait and see after some time for the market to get settled, and then see if it is good from that point on. Tl;dr - with changes like this, you will see prices too high, and prices too low. The market needs some time to level out.

Was most likely a caching issue, if something like this happens to you and you don't believe it's a bug (other players can successfully do it), I encourage you to delete your WDB folder, and retry.
