Gank Scene - am I missing something?
Gnog replied to Gnog's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
You're kind of talking past my post. I described the state of the world where alliance "quest or travel", and you said to go farm green mobs in a corner somewhere. I am aware of the many spots for that. My point here is that the best questing areas and major thoroughfares for 50-60 alliance are basically shut off, or so it seems to me. Your post just confirms. -
Anyone have an answer to this? Or can anyone list some good farming options? edit: or are mages reluctant to name the places because the admins have shown that they like nerfing mage farming?
-
Yea, you're probably right, minus the "kiddo" and 60 (was farming it at 52, which yeah seems OP). A few adjustments should make it viable nonetheless. But this "fix" (if that's what it is) was not listed in the development notes and changes a significant mechanic of the class. It is frustrating to make time investment decisions based on existing mechanics only to have them changed without explanation (or warning, as far as I know). It feels a lot like a nerf. What's next ...
-
You have to be kidding us with this stealth mage nerf. I just spent the last three weeks leveling a mage to farm gold. You have basically negated the purpose of the last three weeks of my play on the server. Please explain.

Something you should be warned before starting

You aren't alone. Go post a suggestion in the thread in the News and Annoucement forum. -
Thanks to the Amazing Folks Behind This

+10 to the OP. Truly amazing. -
This is a beautiful post. "It's working fine for me and my 14 friends who have been able to play WoW 80 hours a week for the last two years. If you don't like it, go somewhere else." With this attitude, your community will just continue to shrivel and die. You've also completely ignored the flaws in the current system. How about this: Fuck off with the full raid queueing. Just because you have more play time than others and/or fear the introduction of player skill into the ranking equation doesn't mean you should be able to destroy the spontaneity, parity, and fun that would otherwise be attainable in PvP in this computer game. If you really need to PvP only in premades that out-gear disorganized pugs, just go roaming around low level questing areas and gank lowbies, or just keep confirming the toxicity and short-sightedness of your ilk on the forums. Nothing prevents you from getting 9 / 14 other nerds together for some world PvP. So stop ruining the BG scene with raid queueing and win trading. That's how it should work.
-
Why would the addition of more instances improve world PvP? This makes no sense. There would be more world PvP if there were more incentives for world PvP.
-
The honor bonuses for playing in BGs destroy world PvP and discourage casual PvPers. Winning a single game in AB nets more honor than solo killing 10 level 60s in open world. That is bonkers, at least in terms of accomplishment/reward, and forces anyone interested in ranking to play in BGs exclusively as the way to rank. It also forces people into premades that crush pugs and amass truly huge honor numbers, both of which discourage casual PvPers and drive down the PvP participation. Two simple changes that would improve the PvP scene: 1. Queue in groups of 5 max. 2. Much, much lower bonuses for BG wins, so that world PvP is a viable way to rank up. Regarding the second point (lowering BG bonuses), you would also be helping the world PvP scene on Elysium. As it stands, all the alliance PvPers are in BGs 100% of the time. The Horde PvPers who are in queue are out in Lvl50+ zones, ganking in groups. This is definitely discouraging alliance players to finish the leveling grind to 60, and generally makes the open world a strange, Horde dominated place. Making open world PvP relevant would be a huge improvement, and reducing BG bonuses would go a long way in that direction. Alterac Valley is lame. Yet another drain on world PvP...

STV madness wait for 50-59 leveling
Gnog replied to Jainas's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Csant, Generally I would agree with you. But two or three level 50s (or even a full group) can't do a damn thing against a group of R8+ honor farmers. If it were the occasional solo 60, sure, but that's not the issue. These aren't random encounters where having a few leveling friends would solve the problem. -
STV madness wait for 50-59 leveling
Gnog replied to Jainas's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Yeah, level 50+ questing areas are basically off limits to Alliance at this point. I have two chars in the 50s right now. The mage I am leveling in an instance. The warrior I'm leveling through dungeons (slowly). There is only ganking if you try to quest in popular areas. And it's not just one or two 60s doing it. It's full groups roaming the area and assisting each other. The alliance players who might actually be able to put a stop to this are too busy in battlegrounds. -
Nah. They can be fun in all brackets. If you rate your success by fun acquired they are worth it throughout.
-
What is the 49 bracket like nowadays
Gnog replied to healingdead's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
It basically doesn't exist in NA Queue Times. A few games a week. -
I like to report boxers as well. They are a scourge. Video seems like the best evidence for boxers. Is there an easy way to capture video in game? An add on or something?
-
I don't think that's the way to do the math, Justme. The regen continues through combat so you'll finish a kill with more hp than you'd otherwise have and your downtime willl be reduced. Kengion, what have been your results so far? Any significant increase in grinding rates after stacking the hp regen? Does spirit make any difference? (I've never looked into whether spirit gives meaningful hp regen.)

A better place to post this idea is the Guild Recruitment forum. You could title the post "[H] New PvP Premade Guild." Then spend $0 on a website, piggy on someone's discord/Teamspeak, and organize premade groups that coordinate. Or continue mindlessly solo queueing.
-
Roll a mage. It's easy to play moderately well. One of the easiest classes to level. Not gear dependent. It's fun to play solo and in groups, has multiple viable specs for different focuses, and is a great farming class if you decide to roll a new toon once you've had enough experience in the game to make a more informed decision.

Verayoung abusing lag macro, AGAIN

I bet you've never died in Warcraft. -
Isn't it bannale to use safe spots--as in, spots on the map where you cannot be hit ? This seems to fall into that category doesn't it?
-
Tonight we had a group on alliance side Q'd for hours in AB and then WSG in the 40-49 bracket. Never got a game. Does nobody on the horde side Queue for 40-49 bracket? Major disappointment!
-
Evidently the only horde in this bracket are twinks who refuse to Queue anything but Warsong to take advantage of their twink rogues. Dead bracket.
-
Same thing today. 4 ally in WSG against 0 horde. I thought this server had more horde.

What do you mean that your spots are competitive, and what do you mean when you say you're looking for substitutes? -
Fiers, did you play a hunter on either Kalecgos or Stonemaul server in original Vanilla?

Is dps warrior valued in raids at the beginning?

Your expressed awareness of how bad a decision you're making does not diminish its badness.
