I started playing pally in BC and continued until I quit at the end of Warlords. By far my favorite class, and I'm thinking of starting a new one! I had a few questions though. I prefer healing, but this isn't practical for leveling outside of grinding dungeons. Can prot heal dungeons while leveling? How is prot for leveling? I remember it was a blast in BC, but as I played horde I never played the class in vanilla and have no clue what it was like. Also, if I join a group as a healer, is it okay to roll on healing gear even though I might be prot spec? Seems opinions on this vary from person to person, so what's Elysium's general etiquette on this one?

Happening to me right now. I checked to see if I can connect to another server and I can indeed connect to Anathema. I don't have any characters there so I tried Elysium again, can't get past connecting. :) [Edit] can connect to Darrowshire just fine as well.

About to roll an alliance toon, but it won't be the first time I've played one faction grossly outnumbered by the other faction.

well, my question was more can I heal if I'm prot spec. I don't have anybody to level with, so I have to be able to quest solo and have never had a good time doing that as holy lol. If I ask the group up front at the start if I can roll on healy gear and they say no, would it be unpardonably rude for me to drop group? I mean I don't want to run a dungeon if there's nothing in it for me :|

Hey guys, looking for some advice on leveling a healer. I played retail for ~10 years and mostly played healers from wrath to warlords. It's my favorite role, and I want to level one here. But with respect costs and whatnot, I'm wondering how I should go about it. Should I level as DPS? Can DPS specs heal 5 mans while leveling? Should I level as a heal spec via dungeons, and group if/when possible? Which class would you recommend? I only played druid and paladin, haven't played priest or shaman before. Suggestions welcome :)

I disabled world map nodes and haven't had errors. One thing I did notice, if it's any help, is when world map nodes are toggled on, when I close the world map one of the nodes is still there on the screen and mousing over it causes a lua error. Sorry for not screenshots, I will try to get one today if I can get it to happen again.

Any addons that let me add additional music without simply replacing the default music?

Hey guys, I'm new to the server, haven't played vanilla since vanilla! I'm looking for an active guild, make some friends, people to level with, all that fun stuff. I like many activities like PvP and PvE, leveling/questing, I have played end-game here and there but I don't think my current internet connection will allow me to step into any level 60 content unfortunately (satellite internet, 700+ ms at all times). Just looking for people to talk to and group with and enjoy wow with. Can anyone suggest some active guilds that would have me? :)

So if I wanted to level a paladin in actual heal spec would I do better to PVP and just random dungeon grind my way to 60? Can ret or prot heal random 5 mans until at least 50ish or so so I can quest, too? I never leveled a paladin before BC (and leveled prot), don't know what to expect but it's always been my favorite class. Priest sounds like my next go, though, since it sounds like I can level as normal and pop into dungeons to heal and do quests.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but speak for yourself. I find it very enjoyable, as do many other players. I'm a baddy mcbadderson and basically a free honor kill but wPvP and players being able to kill each other is literally the only reason I developed any interest in WoW in the first place. I'm really not one to go around ganking lowbies and locking down quest hubs, but I don't mind one bit being on the receiving end of this behavior, it was and still is a huge draw for me. I like the constant conflict and rivalry between the factions and danger lurking around every contested corner. I played retail for like 10 years, hopping between PvP, PvE, and RP realms and learned a few things when I don't feel like /pointing and /laughing at my dead questgivers. 1.) I can fly to org and empty bags, put stuff on the auction house, restock on pet food and ammo. 2.) If my quest hub of choice is still locked down I can quest someplace else. Somewhere out there are some level-appropriate quests I can do to pass the time. 3.) Queue for some BGs. 4.) Take a break and level some professions. Turn on a movie and do a few laps around Mulgore to farm copper for an alt. Level fishing and cooking. 5.) Make an alt. 6.) Log off of WoW completely and go do something else. Good time to weed the garden or walk the dog. 7.) Get an angry mob together and exact sweet vengeance. Don't be in such a rush. Enjoy the game. People like to say "this isn't what Blizz intended" but I started shortly before the BG patch went live and it was whatever is going on now on steroids, x9000. XR and the SM entrances were always littered with corpses and skeletons. It was glorious. All of these things are hilarious.

I get an error when I open and close the map, but it still seems to work fine. Nodes show up on my world map and minimap in all the right places. I can configure gatherer, seems to more or less work with metamap. I just get a gather node error if I open and close the world map, but I can live with it since there's no routes addon for vanilla that I can find :D Specifically the error, if anyone is interested, is:

Same problem. Pops up all the time. Any way to fix this? Interface/AddOns/modui/dark/dark.lua:353:attempt to index local `bu' (a nil value) The section in question skins Postal to match modui (presumably, I just started like right now and am nowhere near a mailbox). But how do we fix it so it skins postal or at least stops spitting out a constant error? How can I have my cake and eat it too? :) The quick fix seems to be to simply comment out lines 351-359 if anybody is having the same problem.
