If you downloaded the torrent from the Elysium website, then its pretty safe to say its a false positive. I'm running Malwarebytes too and have not had any alerts from this client.

Have the person you're trying to invite clear his cache by deleting his WDB folder and exit the game for 10-15 minutes. Whenever someone accepts an invite to join a full guild they are unable to accept guild invites for a while.

Since i'm not sure what went wrong here, i'll give you a step by step guide on how to download and install the client. I'm assuming you've already made an account. Download and install a Torrent program (I recommend Deluge) http://deluge-torrent.org/ Go to https://elysium-project.org/play and download either the Windows or Mac torrent depending on your operating system located in the top right corner. You'll now have a .torrent file, open that file with your Torrent program and accept any prompts the program might give you until you see it has started to download "World of Warcraft 1.12 Client.rar" While that is downloading, go download and install a reliable unzipping program (I recommend Winrar) http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm Once the torrent is done downloading, open "World of Warcraft 1.12 Client.rar" with Winrar, inside you'll see a single folder named "World of Warcraft 1.12" click and drag that to a location of your choice (Do not put it in C:\Program Files) Once the files have been unzipped. Open the folder you just unzipped and locate "realmlist.wtf", open that with notepad or another text program, delete everything in the file and paste in set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org If everything was done correctly, all that is left is to login and play.

If you're not able to login to the control panel with your old account info, i'm afraid there isn't much that can be done. GM's have a very limited ability to restore characters, judging by how old your characters are and the fact that the account they're under might not even exist anymore, i'd say the chances of the staff here being able to restore said characters are virtually zero. The only recommendation i can think of is to PM a GM on the forum, i recommend @Spionida as he is by far the most active GM on the forum. Explain the situation, link him this thread and give him your account name as well as your character names, races and classes. He should be able to tell you if the account even exists anymore. Remember to include proof of ownership (Screenshots of you playing one of the characters on that account will usually do.)

Does indeed seem very spooky. Send an in-game ticket, Elysium's staff can hook you up with some spook-relief™ for those extra spooky nights. Note that you might have to stay online for the spook-relief™ to be administered.

Try going to Dentharion in Darnassus for alliance, Turak Runetotem in Thunder Bluff for horde or Loganaar in Moonglade. They should give you the initial quest. You can also skip the first quest and go straight to Torwa Pathfinder in Un'Goro Crater Though i have my doubts about the quest actually being in-game yet.
