Kind citizens of Darrowshire, Please vote here and comment on the recent Q&A thread if you would like to have the choice to play TBC content on a PvE realm instead of having our beloved Darrowshire merged into one of the existing PvP realms. It's my understanding that the rest of the Elysium community feels that Darrowshire is "dead" and that having a PvE TBC realm would just add another dead server. Speak up and let your voices be heard. Edit: Please only vote if you actually play on Darrowshire. There is no need to vote if you don't play there, since it wouldn't affect you anyways. If you vote NO, a follow-up comment as to WHY would be helpful.

LH was blocking the METHOD of how characters were being transferred. They actually tried to have Shenna agree to a different method so that your account details weren't be transmitted all over the world in plain text, but she didn't want to do that. The whole process could have gone much smoother. Feel free to read the LH forum for their side of the story.

Soooo... how did the process actually work for transferring the characters back over? My understanding is that it was a custom WoW client that logged into the account using the user/pass entered into the restoration tool, then it scrapped the info that way in order to restore it. Oh, and user/pass info was sent in plain text. According to the LH forum, they tried to get Shenna to agree to having folks download their data directly from the LH account portal when it goes live soon-ish, but she said no and decided to use this other method instead.

That would be due to the method that was used to "copy" your character from LH. It would have been helpful if someone with knowledge of the process had actually shared HOW it worked, instead of saying just to do it.

LH is actually being pretty damn transparent. Have you read up on their forum about how the account restore tool here works and seen that they've posted the server bills and donation list? I've yet to see any of that come out of the EP staff. Hell, when asked, a GM was totally clueless about how the restore tool worked... and those that do know, have yet to answer any questions about how safe it is to use.

Oh... and Shenna lies. LH is not blocking Chinese players... they also offered a solution to restore the character data without using the botnet (or whatever the tool is) without transferring our user/pass info IN PLAIN TEXT (you know, for the safety of your account)... but Shenna didn't want to do that. Feel free to check out the LH forum for yourselves.

Don't forget duki... you're a nobody troll too. We've gone around in this circle for a while now. Now if you can just keep yourself off the LH Discord, all will be well with the world. (also, your typing gets pretty horrible the more you get worked up... it's kinda funny)

Yes... this, right here. I know I've asked the staff in a couple of threads now about HOW they are getting the info back. The lack of response makes me NOT want to play here. I haven't even used the tool yet because no one can give an answer about where that data is going.

I see a lot of people always talking about how they either broke, lost, or sold their phone and now need to have the 2FA removed from their accounts. I would suggest folks get "Authy" from their respective app stores. It works exactly the same as any other 2FA app, but with the added bonus of being able to backup your codes to the cloud... for free. (password protected, of course) Then, when you need to set it up on a new device, you just log into Authy and have it restore your codes. Boom... no waiting forever for the staff to work through a 2FA removal request. (these guys work hard, lets make their lives a little easier, huh?) (maybe a mod could sticky this... or have the web gods add something to the control panel page... just a suggestion.)

This isn't the thread to ask for that help... this is only a suggestion to use Authy as your 2FA app. If you had done that, you could have restored your backup from the cloud. Make a post in the proper forum area.

But HOW are they getting the character from Light's Hope?

I'm guessing you missed all the drama that happened. They have your character there because some "bad stuff" happened here... the LH crew split from the EP crew, taking the character data with them... now the EP crew is working on getting the servers back up and the data restored.

Is there any way for you to get clarification on how the transfer process works so we can have some piece of mind that our character data is safe? (I'm sure you've seen the various replies on the restoration announcement about how it doesn't work as intended.)

How are you guys getting the progressed data from Light's Hope? Was some sort of agreement reached between the two camps? I saw another post saying that there is some sort of botnet involved with getting the info back? Is that true?

I did the exact same thing. I either went into the main Interface options and did it there, or just scaled up each piece... or maybe there was a master scale setting somewhere in the pfUI options... I can't remember for sure, but one of those ways should do it. Or, if you haven't gone and tweaked too many things, just reset the settings from the pfUI options.

There is also a similar poll going on to measure the demand for a PvE TBC realm. Be sure to vote there as well please... but keep the conversation civil, I don't want the thread to get closed by mods due to fighting.

As you probably noticed, the Q&A thread has been closed since it devolved into fighting about stupid stuff in the past that has no bearing on things going on now. Let's continue the discussion here, but keep it civil.

That decision is still some time away from being made. Right now, the best thing to do is to show the powers-that-be that we, as a community, want it. Send your guildmates and friends on Darrowshire here too. Have them read through this and the Q&A thread, vote, and leave comments on both.

That's weird that they would keep sending emails about it. I'm not using any kind of VPN or anything else to hide my playtime and I've never gotten a thing from them. You could try using a VPN... that would keep them from watching your network traffic. You're sure not seeding it anymore? Unless you use the Torrent program for other downloads, I'd completely uninstall it. I haven't torrented in years and had to go find one just to download WoW.

Remember guys... this isn't for bashing or bringing up crap that happened in the past. We're trying to have a reasonable discussion about whether or not the community wants a PvE TBC realm. Let it go or start up a separate thread. (oh, and thanks Mahtan... now I have that damn Frozen song stuck in my head. ha.)
