Queeky 58 Report post Posted July 25, 2016 What is a profession?A profession is a set of skills a player can learn by visiting a profession trainer. Said skills are meant to enchane the player's gameplay by providing him with various tools to better his World of Warcraft experience (i.e: an alchemist may make potions, which heal, restore mana or otherwise empower allies). In Vanilla WoW, there are 9 primary professions (out of which you can have two at a time) and 3 secondary professions (you can learn all of them). With that being said, it is also worth noting that professions are the player's main means of getting income, in the form of gold, by selling services (i.e: A player with the Enchanting profession can enchant other people's weapons) or items (i.e: A blacksmith can sell the crafted armour and an alchemist can sell potions). This is primarily done in chat channels, for example[5.examplechannel] and Valkyrie's auction houses (In Stormwind, Orgrimmar or the Goblin Cities). Training and bettering a professionIn order to train a profession, you must visit a profession trainer. Here is a list of the game's profession trainers. In the above picture, you can see what should display once talking to a profession trainer. If you have not trained before, simply purchase the "Apprentice <Profession name goes here>" package, for nine copper. In order to level up your profession, you simply open your profession tab. Now, you simply train yourself what you'd like (based on your skill level, of course), and craft it to level up until you can craft the next item. You can either use those items, sell them, or throw them. Once being done with a profession level (for example, apprentice is done at profession level 75), visit an appropriate trainer to train the next level. *Remember that you might need materials, or tools (i.e: Blacksmithing hammer and an anvil for a blacksmith / enchanting rod for an enchanter) in order to craft items.
