TheFishyOne 9 Report post Posted August 13, 2016 'ey guys. Like the title says. I was a sucessful Raidtankadin in the PuG scene on Nost PvP, and would like to know if a guild here might give me a home. I'm sure you all know the ins and outs of vanilla Raidtankadins by now, so I'll not list them here (if a recruitment officer has specific questions, I can answer them here). Please no "lolprot" or "just roll a War" posts. Pallytanking is what I know and love, and I have no interest in listening to naysayers tell me that I'm not able to do things that I can, and have already done.
Cheddarcakes 6 Report post Posted August 13, 2016 Gonna have to build a reputation up, Fishy. Just like on Nost, not too many people have faith in us prot pallies. Even though we both know they work fine

Angren 1 Report post Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) How you want to tank as pala when your mana is gone in like 1 minute after starting the boss or even faster? This not not TBC where you have mana generating talent in Protection tree. Sure you can do it somewhat but it still sucks compared to warrior tanking. TheFishyOne 9 Report post Posted August 15, 2016 Not true at all, Angren. I actually drink less often than the healers do, and on boss fights that require it, Major Manas, Dark Runes, and JoW are more than enough to totally negate Mana as an issue.
Squishums 1 Report post Posted August 16, 2016 Something worth noting, is that this server does not have the same bugged consecrate as on nostalrius. Consecrate on Elysium PTR is blizzlike. Rank1 ticks for 8, rank5 ticks for 48, and the only way to change that is with spell damage. Prot paladins might still be useful, but just keep in mind that your AoE damage will be a tiny fraction what it was on nost.
Cheddarcakes 6 Report post Posted August 17, 2016 (edited) Keep in mind we will also have working talents that increase our threat generation on single targets by a significant amount.Nost did not have these working. TheFishyOne 9 Report post Posted August 20, 2016 Squishums, I think you are overstating reality a bit. Yes, our Consc wont do Naxx damage in pre-raid gear, but a good Tabkadin will rely more on HS and BoSanc here. Plus, it will scale with spelldmg, which it did not do on Nost, so with proper gear, chants, and consumable use, a Tankadin's Consc will simply be plenty for gear appropriate instances, and not stupid OP for all of them. Like Cheddar said, our ST threat was fixed. In the end, we will just have to make use of MAs in raids, no different than Prot Wars. Cheddar, who were you on Nost?
Ezxi 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2016 Hey! Im the GM of <No Limits> on alliance side. We would love for you to join our guild if you are serious and a dedicated player. We do not have set raid days or times yet, but will discuss it as a guild when we get closer to that stage. We have over 80 members at the moment, and just trying to recruit a few more for our core. We would allow 1 prot pally, and 1 ret pally, as long as both of them have a decent healing set for fights they cannot be apart of. Also, as a prot pally, you would have to understand you would not be a main tank, but a 2nd or 3rd off-tank. We use loot council as our primary loot system, and have dedicated officers with years of raid experience. If this interests you, please add me in-game, and shoot me a whisper! -Ezxi
