Just passing by giving my opinion on legion

Recommended Posts

As a pvp player it's utter garbage so if you like pvp don't buy legion, it's as worse as wod pvp.

Pve is good i guess i did a little, all dungeon is okay, world quest event is okay as well but is it something that will make wow better ? nah wow is over m8s. unsub after 3 days =)

I am not sure about that though, Legion might not be the best addon yet, but it is a step in the right direction.

The PvE Content is very pleasing and talking about PvP I do think that the prestige system is refreshing giving you a motivation to grind and grind and grind if that is your type of gameplay.

so if you like pvp don't buy legion

But to agree with you in some form, I do think, that there should have been more PvP content, like new BG's.

I liked the direction they took with story telling, finding a good balance between cutscenes and player involvement. There were some moments where i though "Damn, give me a singleplayer roleplaying game." MMO Aspect is dwindling with each addon tho.

If it was just about passion and altruism. Especially dungeon groups s.t don't even feel the obligation to talk with each other. :/

I mained a warlock since cata, I recently unsubbed because they were shitting on locks and not sure how to fix it, our rotation was clunky,  our resorces were to RNG dependent and our dps was HORRIBLE.

coming here when servers go online to re-live the good old days.

I agree with you, the PVE Content (with the right guild i.e the right people) is a lot of fun.

It doesn't feel like a MMO, it doesn't feel like a RPG.

It feels like a facebook game.

I do not agree with you, one just has to do more to have the same social experience.

As a guild leader/ raid leader / main tank of my guild in retail i can tell you, people don't want to invest as much as they used to but still want to receive as much.

They ask why there are not enough active people, but don't do anything themselves to change that.

I think WoW itself in its current Retail form is not even a bad game it is probably still the best MMO out there (which says a lot about the other MMO's) but the mentality changed, everything needs to be quicker, more random, more RNG, not a big fan of these change IMO.

I'd specifiy that WoW is probably still the best casual/classic MMORPG and it doesn't have a lot competition in that niche (Their first and maybe hardest was crushed at release: Everquest II), because it is well done, refined over the years. Most new MMO's after the "big attack" by Age of Conan, TERA, RIFT etc etc try to differentiate a lot from the WoW-formula or add sth to it that makes it stand out.

Best example: Star Wars The Old Republic. While the mechanics and world-design reek of a WoW-Clone they added fully voiced and cinematic sequences, did not work that well because of the lack of endgamecontent but they did secure themselves a good chunk of MMO-Players. Funnily WoW amped up the story presentation with the first content patches after SW:Tor released and refined itself again further. :D

The game doesn't reward investment anymore. It does not reward social play anymore. The game itself became quicker and more random.

The average player didn't suddenly became a different person, they are just playing a different game that rewards a different kind of behavior.

Nobody's going to put in that extra effort just to go against game design and shoot themselves in the foot in terms of gameplay and progression.

Sure, you can say that, you probably have an advantage if you play all by yourself and do not care about others / guilds and just pug your way up, but the question you have to ask yourself is, do you still have fun doing that and I for myself know, that in current Retail you can have fun, but not alone. Only with good people, having a good time.

That is technically true.

The thing is, with good people you could have fun in ANY game, including some ridiculously bad ones. In fact, some people have fun shoving things up their butt as long as they do it with friends. At least imaginary ones. But I digress.

Basically your argument is exactly why I said it's a facebook type of game. I'm not sure why you disagreed.

Sure thing, I do not disagree with your opinion that, basically everything is fun with good people, I just say that the base that WoW in its current retail form gives us isn't as bad with friends. What I am trying to say is, it is more fun than a facebook game.
