j9a2per1990 32 Report post Posted September 17, 2016 Greetings to everyone!Today it’s a month since the project Elysium started. Personally I’m delighted and I think the project is doing well. Boys and girls from the project are really making effort and it can be seen that they’re doing everything to keep their promises and they’re doing everything for us players for free in their free time (that can’t be forgotten). There’s still a lot to do (mainly the problém of Pathfinding systém + smaller or greater bugs), but I think it only takes time and patience from us players (like I like to say). But it must be realized that the server can’t work without help of everyone of us. I mean financing the server (https://elysium-project.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=21880), but mainly raising the population of the realm. A lot of players perceive the project as one of many and I’m not surprised. I’m convinced that’s not the case but our help is needed. Everyone (majority) of us has FB, a lot of friends somewhere outside (I hope so, lol) and some of us has Twitter so everyone can share the project, give it a like, tell about it at school or work. It’s really important if we don’t want to be the only ones in the game and it we want the project to grow further. I hope everyone is conscious of that and that they are doing all they can.Personally I would concentrate on using FB and Twitter from the side of the team (various news, screenshots from the game, some articles about vanilla, instructions, addons etc. – mainly active). That’s the key to success. I know a lot of people who don’t visit our forum but they are on FB everyday. Then I would make the forum clearer because otherwise it doesn’t make sense and players don’t read it. The topic that doesn’t belong to the right theme or doesn’t make sense I would erase, not only lock as it is now. Don’t be afraid of it. The same with Bug Tracker. There’s a lot of incorrect, old (fixed long ago) reports that are confusing and everything looks chaotic. Next thing is, I noticed that the project was labelled „Russian“ and that scaress off REALLY a lot of new people. With that I’d like to ask all Russian speaking players to take this in mind and try to speak English as much as possible, mainly in /w me for unknow players for you. Otherwise there won’t be any new players and it’s mainly about players. Another problem, which is bugging my friends and is the reason why players from my former guild still don’t want to come, is that the team still didn’t announce the final verdict about .BG commands and other „fun“ improvements (doesn’t apply to a slight raising of difficulty of dungeons and raids) + server/PvP maintinance in right time, like have it Blizzard. It’s being discussed on the forum all the time and new players want the server to be blizzlike as much as possible. And those who don’t, can choose from many different servers. If this topic is appealing, I ask for sharing it on FB and I ask everyone to take in mind my thought and help as much as they can.
Kadir 136 Report post Posted September 17, 2016 The topic that doesn’t belong to the right theme or doesn’t make sense I would erase, not only lock as it is now. Don’t be afraid of it. The same with Bug Tracker. There’s a lot of incorrect, old (fixed long ago) reports that are confusing and everything looks chaotic. Old "fixed" topics should stay, cause ppl provide evidence there and nobody would like to invest their time in finding it again if accidentally something would get broken when changing other things. Why don't you accept that there are other cultural centers in the world, its the same if on russian server you would force everyone to speak russian. It's not possible to force everyone to speak english and unnatural. Also the rus-speaking part of the server contributed to it a lot during its existence and imho its unfair to disregard it even if you don't know their language. That's really funny how you try all the time to force your own opinion, by telling that you won't bring your friends if server won't be like you want. Also you're not tolerant to opinion of the others who stayed on the server much longer then you and would like them to leave. It's pathetic how you label improvements proposed by others as "fun" and your own as those only right and just. So i'm telling once more: Accept the fact that over the 7 years Valkyrie players contributed a lot to the server's current status of scripting by losing hours on finding proofs and writing the reports which you cant understand because you dont know the language. Does it make the reports wrong and should they be deleted? Do you know that some of those writing in russian part of the bugtracker are now members of the developing team? Accept another fact that BG commands made pvp very popular and active on previous realm during it's best times. You can't know it ofcourse cause didn't see it with your own eyes. You're forming opinion about something which you didnt test. Accept finally that others have different opinion then you or your friends. You would be surprised how many people are backing up the idea of improving the pvp by making it more popular. It was well tested that the commands bring many more people to BGs then the lack of commands.
Mesh 48 Report post Posted September 17, 2016 Hello, Thank you for your attention and attachment to this project. It means a lot to us, the team, to receive such careful message! The bugtracker should be launched today *hopefully* and we believe it will solve a lot of problems regarding communication, giving more insight on the issue lifecycle and how far issues are from being fixed. It will also provide the community a way to express their vision on what developers should focus on with an upvote. Regarding removing messages or issues, that is not a path we are willing to engage in as it will remove hard work collecting information that could be used in the future. To answer your concerns about our stance on the .bg command, this is not a feature that we want to implement as we want to focus on increasing the population. You raise good points regarding our use of social media and how we could do more. We could not agree more with that and are willing to expand our activity. As we are still on planning things, I'll share with you what we are thinking and preparing regarding social media. #1 Facebook We believe that Facebook should be used to create a sense of community around Elysium and WoW Vanilla. Here are the kind of publications we are thinking about: Throwback Thursday(TBT): nostalgic posts about Vanilla events and Elysium. For example, an album of the release of AQ on retail, first days of Elysium, world firsts videos from retail or Elysium... HYPE: publications about the next content to be released with Lore, videos, tactics, quotes, wallpapers... Community promotion: if players or guilds want to create a fun event, we will relay it on all social medias and post an album after it, we could also promote Give visibility to content creators: we would like the videos and streams that occur on Elysium. However we are concerned if the community would see that as favoritism which is a red flag for the project. Humor: #justvanillathings, top 10's... We will need community feedback on this. #2 Twitter We think that it should be used for quick information and therefore should be tied in with the bugtracker to publish a tweet each time an issue is resolved. We would also like to retweet community content to give them visibility and communicate about some statistics about the playerbase to see how it evolves! As you can see, a lot of cool things can be done with social media and we would like to have as much feedback as possible from the community if they do not feel weird about it and would actually like it. Kadir 136 Report post Posted September 17, 2016 Constant rivalisation drives pvp and makes this journey to rank 14 so intriguing. Vanila pvp is kind of a marathon race which require teamwork and determination and above all time. Epics at the end are just the result. Lack of participants, too long queues or fighting against same team all the time makes it boring and pointless to start it on the particular server. I'm afraid that we can't understand each other cause people who value pvp above all other aspects are not attracted by nostalgic tweets and wallpapers but the presence of pvp action on the server only. Who's responsible from the staff for the status of pvp on the server and the pvp events?
