The 'world' chat.

Recommended Posts

Hi GMs! I really think there is something that should be done about the chat. Almost everyday a group of trolls take over the 'world' channel and they flood it with meaningless and pointless crap for hours. It's very annoying when you want to trade an item or go to a dungeon and when you open the 'world' channel to find people, you encounter it flooded with all this messages like 'I'm selling my dick' or 'the muslims are this or that' or 'America is cattle' and other messages in the same line.

We are here just to get fun in Elysium, just to play WOW like it was in their origins; we are NOT here to read the crap these trolls writes everyday, we are NOT here to talk about muslims, jews, dicks or whatever.

I know that there's already another channel 'lookingforgroup', but few use it in reality. Almost everyone use the 'world' channel to trade, look for people for dungeons and chatting.

I think you should create three different channels, one for 'chat', other for 'dungeons and groups' and another for 'trading', like other servers do to fix this very same problem; and implement a muting system when someone post in the wrong chat to compel people to write in the appropriate channel.

I know this will not eliminate completely the troll problem but, at least, it will reduce it sufficiently to make the trip for Azeroth more enjoyable for many of us. And it will make the server look more serious.

This problem wouldn't exist if people used Trade in cities for trading, the LFG channel for groups and leave World for idle chatter. Unfortunately, most players find the convenience of using World for everything so useful that they do not bother with the other channels. Nothing we can do about it as we do not want to start strictly regulating chat usage.

If there are spammers - people who repeat the same or a similar message every minute - or players who violate our chat rules, then do take a screenshot, make a ticket, attach a link to the screenshot in your ticket and Gamemasters will take it from there.
