haha yea it was a bit double, i haven't played on nost so i don't have an account their either which made me possible to just ask him by a pm.

So that was more the reason why i did it this way a lot of peeps gonna need dem addons anyway

Would it be possible to compose a list, with download links of the very best and most useful addons for Vanilla WoW in this thread?

 

The reason I ask is that I am always a little cautious when looking at posts encroaching on 2 years old. I am wanting to ensure that the file I download is safe and will not harm my computer.

 

With the above having been said, I do not want to cause more work for people if the forum thread provided by Theo is the best resource around.

 

I just think as this forum is going to essentially be the new HUB for Elysium players, that a definitive list of the very best and most useful addons could be a great resource housed on this site.

 

Just my 2 cents.

This is more a placeholder so people who don't know where to get their addons from have a place to go.

Reason I linked this link is because most people do trust the nostalrius forums.

Thing is I don't wanna runn of or give the feeling that I do with someone else hes content.

So yea that is also kinda the reason I won't upload them right away without reasons of like the old forum being down.

Thank you Theo and Pottu for providing that confirmation.

 

I will spend some time going through that page and selecting the addons I believe will be of benefit.

 

Last but not least, I was planning on having access to the Elysium realms to set up my addons so that, upon launch of the new realms, I could simply log in and get going as fast as possible. I know that the Elysium hosted realms are now permanently down prior to launch. Are there any other Private Realms I could log in to in order to set up my installed addons? Will these addons remain how I left them when I log in to the new Elysium realms?

Honestly, no... First off nostalgia wow had a reason to fix buggs since they had the people playing their server.

Most private servers aren't really like that, a populated server might be 50+ peeps already.

While most private servers have the only aim to get rich from it they suck at it to and will never succeed.

They got no idea about how to fix buggs or to work around it and just only collect the donations made by their players.

Nost and this server have 1 very important common goal make wow great again without benefiting from it on a personal level.

Not to mentioned that most servers have to do with a handful of devs.

Atlas + Atlas loot + Recap + and a quest helper

I used myself the quest helper for 1.12.1 which did what it should have done.

Aldo do you still have to read you quests ofcourse   but that is what makes the game to mine opinion.

 

(Atlas + atlasloot) Gives you ingame maps from the dungeons and raids but also shows you the loot without having to go to sudden areas.

(Recap) Oldschool recount

(RapidQuestPack) gives you notes on the map for where to find sudden mobs, to who drops what. but also add's icons on the map and mini map for turning in quests etc. (also side notes on the qeusts itself for when needed)

Do you have any recommendations on a Action Bar addon? I want something clean and easily set up that can display multiple rows of Action Bars.

So, in relation to DPS Meters, there is no Addon that is advanced as Recount is in WoW these days? I tried Recap but it looks a little primitive compared to Recount. Did Recount come later down the road?

 

I'm going to keep messing with critical addons so if any more come to mind, please post in this thread as I am refreshing this page constantly in hopes of another post from you

Ye it did, didn't came out till pre bc / tbc (burning crusade) itself around 2007 +/-.

I also used the other damage meter from that list to but that one feels even premative to the recap addon.

It only shows you damage done compared to others, so it would still do for raids but with recap you atleast see the dps to.

Btw don't forget u can click the - to make recap small but it will still track and show "your" dps.

 

No worries if u got anything else you want and only got ss or anything else give me a yell. 

 Damn those cherrys are addictive :x

So I have been messing around with Recap and, please correct me if I am wrong or have not found the functionality as of yet (which I hope I haven't!), but Recap looks to only report on statistics once a battle is complete. It does not display live information during the course of an encounter?

 

Live information was a feature that I really loved watching. Have I not set it to display live information or was this a feature that also came later down the road?

Yes that is right it only updates after a encounter has been completed.

But i've got the oldschool recount here if you want that, side note you will still be using recap.

But this one gives you the live information you seeking for, it even shows you burst dps vs avarage dps.

That's a bit of a bummer as I love the live information. I have a sharp competitive nature and I loved knowing where I was positioned compared to other raid members during an encounter.

 

Going back to the screenshot below, are you able to tell me what Addon provides that small Raid Icon menu on the left hand side, directly above his chat window?

 

Additionally, looking at the top of the screenshot, is that TitanPanel? Would you recommend that or this other addon I have been reading about called CT?

Regarding addons, you should pump up the addon memory allocation. By default, it is ridiculously low because it was meant for 2004. With a modern computer, you can safely increase it to something like 256 or even 512 and ensure that your addons will not run out of RAM. Then you also need to toggle on the "Load Out of Date Addons" button.

I suggest trying out swstats for a damage meter man, its generally the most widely used and considered the most accurate

Yea that damage meter is amazing.

Found some others to incl "sell value" the shop sell price of items being shown on items itself. (simple addon but a highly needed one for traders like me)

"equip compare" - mouse over a item in you bag to compare it with equipped items.

"ezdismount" - while it maybe has an option somewhere to dismount it isn't use for that...

Imagen yourself being a druid and wanting to cast a heal on yourself this would cancel bear form for you while hitting a healing spell.

Or even small things like you can only make potions while standing, while using this he does stands up for you etc etc...

"Rogue spam" - again, for rogues but not only for... This stops so many stupid error msgs like that ability is not ready yet

"out of range" / "i need to target something first" etc etc...

Every class has some and this disables them completely but keeps the things like out of mana ofcourse, really recommend addon. 

 

I'll post me entire collection all separate soon in a thread.

We got some time to wait anyway so i'll make sure I got everything at once.

Does anyone know if there is a "working" auctioneer for vanilla wow who does the same as sell value but also add's the ah prices?

(As-long it does the same, I don't care about the name. )
