newbie in need of assistance downloading

So I went to the elysium webpage, created and account and started to download the torrent using uTorrent. However, when the download was complete it just gave me a read-only file. 

I played wow up until wrath and I havnt played since, cant wait to play vanilla again. 

 

Can someone post a idiot-proof guide to getting the game started or assist in any way.

Which folder does the realmlist file need to be put into? I was able to download the client and get the game running, now I just need to get it set up to play on this server. 

Im trying to download the realmlist.wtf from the elysium page but it doesn't appear as a folder, just as a realmlist.wtf with an internet explorer logo. There is not an actual realmlist file folder in the downloaded WoW 1.12 folder

 

When logging in it says connecting and then immediately says disconnected from server.

Yeah, the servers are currently down at the moment Cruxman while they work on merging everything. The realmlist.wtf file should already be in the main folder of your wow location. For instance, my location is as follows:

 

C:\Username\Desktop\World of Warcraft 1.12

 

and in that folder the realmlist.wtf file will be listed there. Easiest way to edit it, would be to right click if on a windows computer and choose open with notepad and then you just paste in what the server connection will be called and be good to go from there

I put the realm list in the straight warcraft1.12 folder. AND in Data, AND made a folder called enUS, even put it in there. worked fine, if you still have any issues come on discord https://discord.gg/B4aWpxu
