Hey guys! I was wondering how can you farm gold as a warlock. On K2 I used to farm DME trash mobs but is there any other way of farming gold beside gathering proffs?

farming eye of shadows / greens / fel cloth in winterspring also gives you a steady supply of dark runes

 

having mining is a bonus if youre farming there full time since there is a фекал load of thorium deep inside the gorge behind all the elites that are rarely gathered

 

(enslave a felgaurd and kill other elite demons with it until it gets low then drop the enslave fear it for extra safety and kill it)

mara is better gold per hour than dme for us

 

esp when u get 2 2handers drop from princess and 2h axe drop from rotgrip

I'm a little confused. I know dme is pretty rough as a lock, but the gold income from Mara doesn't seem that great unless you luck out. 6min ideal run to rotgrip. The 2hs are worth 4.6g each, and shield is 2.3g. Any idea on average hourly gold incomes in Mara?

I just started farming Mara (using your guide Xashe thanks!) and worked out that the average gold per run based on the % drop rates was ~8.5g.

It takes like 13 mins per run + you have to relog and run back.. so average 4 runs an hour leaves us at like 34g avg per hour. I've got awful gear mind, so probably faster for geared locks. 

Then фекал can still happen - aggroing a pack (possible to survive and kill them but takes time, or just ss), die to Rotgrip, get attacked by players running back etc.

Also when bags are full the run back for alliance at least is pretty фекал especially without epic mount.

Realistically this is closer to the 30g per hour side, not 50.

Numbers are from over a year ago, but they should still be accurate:

 

DMe trash mob farming is by far superior to Mara farming, because we as warlocks can farm the Satyrs in the rooms on the floor below. I was working close to 110g / hr on Nostalrius when I was doing it with a good routine, I'd spend ~6 hours farming before having to empty bags, as I'd show up with tons of food / water and a few soul shards only. But doing it this way you'll never be locked out, which is the main issue in both DMe non satyr and Mara farming, plus you'll collect Demonic Runes from the Satyrs.

 

There's also a ton of felcloth dropping in there, which is a massive income source, combine that with the runes and you'll be able to sell felcloth items, which could get you as much as 100g / ea.

 

And ofcourse there's Robe of Winter Night, which sold for 150+g / ea.

 

I'd strongly recommend spending time learning how to farm DMe.

 

Another alternative is fishing for specific high value objects like Squid, before someone _RUINED_ the price of squid I was pulling close to 100g / hr with much much less effort than DMe. A word of caution though, multiple people were banned by Nostalrius staffers because we'd farm it for 8 hours while doing work / watching movies / discussing guild chat etc, so be mindful of how botlike you act, as they preferred to ban without asking questions even when they didn't have any evidence we were actually botting.
