Questions about an old Nost Shaman bug

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! Super excited for the servers coming soon and I just wanted to ask a few questions here.

I have been planning on rolling a Shaman once the servers are back up and I have been toying with the idea of leveling with the Shaman "Prot" build in Enh. I've run everything up through UBRS with a Shaman tank in both retail vanilla and on other p.servers, but I have never played as the Shaman and would like to try it out. Yes I know it is not raid viable, that is not a problem for me.

My questions come from a very interesting post I found on the old Nost Shaman forum. I will link it here to make it easy to understand what I'm talking about. (lots of good info for anyone interested in this)

https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=33076&start=30

The Shamans in the thread found that Rockbiter and Earthshock had normal spell threat values instead of the increased values they are supposed to have. It seems a similar bug was also around for Warlock's searing pain, and that was resolved before the server shutdown.

So finally, we get to the questions:

Is there any way to see if this bug has been fixed? Are there patch notes or anything available to check?

Is there a new bug tracker to add this to the list? The blog post earlier has me hopeful for one soon.

Can this be tested in the next server stress test? Are the server tests being run on the most up to date builds or are they on old builds just to test server strain?

Thank you for reading! I'll see all of you in game soon!

Hey there Antima thanks for your post, before I begin I wanna say im not a shaman or a GM and im not sure about details on thr bug, its more of a Quality Assurance (QA) issue. I can say for sure though that the bug tracker is working. This bug tracker would probably list problems from Elysiums source code and since were moving to Nostalrius's stuff these are redundant. Luckily for us the old bug tracker from nostalrius is still working and all the bugs are being tracked so you might be able yo still find details of it.

pretty sure you can find both sections by going to the usual elysium project website, clicking community to go into the forum section then selecting either the "old bug tracker" or the "bug tracker". Also there are patch notes in the general section of the forums, I think theyre empty at the moment though because the project is still being finished.

Yes this can be tested on live realms during the stress test, we will be running the same hardware as that will be used on live servers but probably not by players as everyone starts at level one. Its likely if you make a bug report through the correct channel that the very capable QA team will test this issue on the GM only public test realm. Feedback will also be given on your bug report so you can track it until servers are live.

Sorry if that was a bit all over the place, im on a phone at the moment scrolling up and down to answer different sections of your question.

A list of changes or "patch notes" to what has been done on the core should be released to us prior to the server being relaunched.    If your issue is not included in that, bump the issue tracker for it and they should eventually get to it.

I can no longer access the old Tuleup bug tracker from nostalrius.  I don't know if the info from there is now represented here in the Elysium bug tracker or not.  I searched the Elysium bug tracker and cant find anything by spell number or name about this Shaman situation.  Well, the search feature in there is returning a bunch of unrelated junk.  I can't get that bad boy to do what I want.

Poke around in there and see what you can find. : )

Some of the rumored recent fixes are not on there yet, and the search feature doesn't work properly.

Give it a search AFTER patch notes pre-launch are put out.
