The "Nostalrius" realm - questions

I just read, that we can get our old Nostalrius accounts on here, is that true?

Could not find anyth about that from the official side, is there some information hub / post / hp I missed?

 

If it works, what do I need to do?

When is this realm launching?

Do I need to create accounts here?

Whom do I have to contact?

Kinda confused about this whole thing.

 

Side question: Is there a possibility to change my characters like the appearance, since I made some mistakes on Nost ?

Everything you need to know is on the main page news section or in the announcement section of the forums. No gender, race, faction or appearance changes will be possible.

Hey there Unknown User (assuming thats not your name but anyhow)

the information you requested is out there on forums and FAQs and what not but im gonna put a little info in here just incase someone stumbles across this with the same questions. Please note that im writing this on the 26th of november 2016.

Yes you can get onto your old nostalrius account, not only the source code but also the databases listing characters and account names are being moved over. Elysium chars and accounts will be asked to change name, nostalrius details given priority here so youll be able to log in with your original drtails, please make sure that the email account attached to the account in question is secured.

You dont need to do anything to get back onto your nost account, infact when the time is right and assuming that your game files and realmlist are correct youll be able to log back in like you always did. The stress test tomorrow will not share the same account and it is asked that you register a new account (available now) to help with the stress test.

There is no official date on the realm launch, but as mentioned thd stress test is tomorrow.

To your next question which has kinda already been answered in these paragraphs, you only need to register for the stress test (available now).

You aldo dont need to contact anyone, this forum post was all the help you needed to reach out for, if you would like any further assistance I'd reccomend trying the discord help n support for an extra avenue of information that might help you. All of the things that players need to connec tto the server are dealt with through automated process and I like to think that the GM's and devs are hard at work making sure these things work for the masses.

A change of appearance wont be an option im afraid, but you may be thankful for that. I find that in vanilla having no name changes or anything to the same description solidifies the idea of identity and community. Sorry to inform you but at least its for the greater good, an authentic vanilla experience.

And fyi, if you care, you could request name changes in vanilla, at least on german realms.

 

Just one more question I suppose; am I also able to create an account on the new server and make chars to level up etc?

I'm afraid I cant say fot sure as theres something going on with IP account creations, check the news section of the discord the an announcement on this. Its likely you can make an account on another computer and play either.

Mesh (a developer) posted yesterday in discord, something to do with IP restrictions. Heres what he/she said.
@everyone IP restriction to 1 account has been lifted. not that it will be restored for launch.
@everyone This restriction only applies to account creation, multiple players can play the same IP as long as there is a single and unique person behind each key board.
