memedude 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2016 Hey folks, Excited to jump in upon the relaunch. I've recently upgraded to quite a powerful rig. 2X 1080s/4970k, 32GB of RAM etc. I'm running on the ROG swift 144hz 1440p screens. For whatever reason, no matter what I try, I get this weird skipping of my model/textures whenever I turn the mouse and my character is moving. It's difficult to explain. When standing still, everything looks great, but the moment I turn using my mouse while moving forward/any direction, things get pretty nasty looking and border unplayable. I've tried different resolutions, refresh rates, running in admin, going with openGL instead of D3D, etc. Any other ideas?
Ellipsea 36 Report post Posted November 28, 2016 (edited) Might be fixed if you were operating in windowed mode by switching to full screen mode. Saw this on WoW mesage board too: you can fix it by right clicking the wow executable (wow-64) go into properties > compatibility tab > and make sure that Disable display scaling on high DPI settings is clicked. The final point worked if I set game/monitor refresh rate to 60. Unfortunate that I have to play that way but it's definitely tolerable. Thanks!

Pottu 290 Report post Posted November 28, 2016 From the pinned Common Issues thread, try this trick: 9. "I experience constant micro stuttering despite having a powerful PC" This is a known issue and is due to the code that the vanilla client uses. Remember, it was made back in 2004. The best method to combat this is to use Windows display settings or your video card control panel settings to use refresh rate 64 Hz as well as use the same refresh rate for your monitor. In the WoW client, you can leave the refresh rate at 60 but do turn v-sync on. This trick seems to have the best result.
