lloyger 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 With thousands of players competing for experience resources at launch i have heard of two strategies to beat the curve. 1. Group up and kill higher level mobs just outside starting zones. 2. Run to a less populated starting area (mulgore or tedrissil) and pick up as much experience from discovering areas along the way. The second way gets you to level 4 or 5 in 1 to 2 hours and you get a bunch of flight points on the way, do you think this is worth it? Is grouping up and killing higher level mobs faster? Will these mobs outside starting zones also be in high demand? Share your thoughts on this.
tablet0p 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) Grouping on higher lvl mobs won't work, they'll resist your spells and 3 shot you with no one to heal. Travel is probably the only other option but don't get close to a mob or it'll be 1 shot. Best thing is get in a group and finish quests where you have to kill 10 x mobs. Zodish 1 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 A few things to notice If the chat settings carry over from the old nost server, then you will not have many communication possibilities in the game until after lvl 5, (no whispers no /general no /world no whispers ect.) ... I think its lvl 5. So ideally organize a grp before you start to play. Since the dynamic respawn timer is an unknown factor, no one knows how harsh the struggle for mobs will really be. (Took me around 5 hours to get to lvl 5 on old Nost launch, cus I did the quests in the starting zone, and 80% of that time was me standing on a spawn points spamming sinister strike) I think the best way to get ahead of "the wave" is to grp up (no raids, max. 5 people) and get the hell out of the the starting zone, killing everything in your way.

Drain 19 Report post Posted December 17, 2016 Just do what we did at the original launch, and grind in dungeons if population is a problem. Dungeons are instanced, so there is no competition. The population actually makes it easier to get groups. In the lower levels, farming dungeons is decent XP vs tag warring out in the world. It can also result in you getting good items, such as Cruel Barb, or Stinging Viper. Whenever over population is a problem, just go into dungeons.
