Disconnected as soon as I get In-game

Recommended Posts

Every time I log into the character screen, choose my character and log in I can see the world and everything for about 1-3 seconds before it disconnects me. I played the game for a couple hours just fine, this started happening after i logged off for the first time, then tried to log back in about 1-2 hours after that. I have tried logging in about 20 times since, I have also tried reinstalling the game, nothing is working, please help. :upset:

I don't know how to fix it, but I can report there is a way to get online, unfortunately it does not help much unless it's a busy time of day.

I get this instant d/c problem every time I try to log in. The only way to get online is if there is a QUEUE on the server, wait through the queue, then it works 100% of the time. You can log in and stay online to play. Unfortunately there are times like right now, on the PVE server, there are not enough people playing to create a queue, so I cannot log in and play.

Same. It happens after the server lags out and DCs everyone.. When I try to get back in it will let me log in and insta kicks me out. I'm not sure if it is because I am playing from the USA but all of my EU buddies can log back in just fine.

Relogs, Opening  a new client, and Computer Restarts haven't been successful for me. Time seems to be the only thing that works but it takes like an hour after the server has lagged out for me to get back in while everyone can log right back in.

Here is an example:

i have a theory on this, and its crazy, but i think it pinpoints the issue:

many players aren't able to rejoin the server after a crash until there is a queue. if you try to join, you are disconnected right after the loading screen, as shown in the video posted above. but as soon as there is a queue, you are able to load into the game just fine, no disconnect.

please can the staff look into this, this is madness. More people will quit playing when they grow frustrated from the instant disconnect, resulting in not enough players to create a queue. And no queue means that people with the instant disconnect issue will never be able to connect again. Your servers are basically unplayable (for a large amount of players) after a server crash, if there aren't enough people to cause a queue....

I was able to log in on a different computer.

Are any of you experiencing this issue using reshade by chance? It is the only thing I can think of that would set me a part from the average player as far as setup.

I think I've figured out part of the 'why' this is happening. On a whim I tried a backup wow folder I had, and it worked! The only difference I could think of from my main folder to the backup folder is the backup folder had a much heavier UI than the one in my main folder.

Keep in mind I'd tried with and without addons previously, so then I thought, well a heavier UI takes longer to load, so I copied my main wow folder from my solid state drive, to a normal hard drive (to slow down loading) and it worked.

So, somehow if you have no addons, or a very lightweight UI, and you are using a fast hard drive, you actually load the game TOO FAST for the server.

Some solutions to try:

If you are using a solid state drive for your wow folder, copy to a normal hard drive if you can and try that.

Try loading up your UI with things like Atlas Loot and such that are memory hogs and try logging in again.

Lmao this Works for me my pc is way to fast I had to put it on a normal hdd for it to work. I am using 3 ssd's in Raid zero witch is way to fast faster than 1 ssd so there was no way I could ever get a chance to connect with my pc unless I put it on a slow hdd this is crazy. Thanks for the info Maxvla

I switched from xp compatibility mode to windows 7. that fixed the issue for me

so if you have insta dc issue, maybe try looking into the compatibility you are running the game in
