SO after reading  " for documentation purpose "  It gives me hope that Nostalrius are doing everything they can- But that being said, Didn't the team at nostalrius break up? Maybe all our hopes are on one guy.

Dont you think, that they disable all except site (for now) - tokens, forum etc? :) Forum didnt work, token generation has new error like "just can't do it", not "trying, but can't" like before. 

Not very encouraging news.

Could mean anything Dark, Its is neither positive nor negative.

I feel there are a lot of people are out there reading this forum, Without an account, Like myself "until yesterday", How will they know that this is such a mass problem to be solved without a backing from the player base, So i urge everyone reading this, make an account! make yourselves heard. 

Yes im aware they know about it, But do they really know how many people are literally sat here in the same boat, If this is going to be a priority of being fixed anytime soon we really need to make the Devs aware just how many people are stuck in limbo...

And to clarify Darkpenguin.

The original message was

"We are encountering technical difficulties regarding the token generation procedure. Please try again later."

That has been replaced with - From ( 1 / Jan / 2017  3pm GMT)

"Token couldn't be generated now. Please try again later."

As the system message has been physically changed by a dev in the last day with the quote still there " Please try again later "

Surely that is positive isnt it, I mean if they wanted to bin the system why would they write this :D Fingers cross. 

I will keep digging and posting my thoughts, and try keep everyone updated on anything i find!

I now. In 3d page of thread i posted screenshot with this new message, it was 31 december. In my post i meant that 1st mesage look like "we are trying, but have difficulties", and second look like "we just cant, sorry". Maybe token generation system is disabled while they fix it. I hope so.

 

Im waiting till 24 december i think, and only thing, that make me crazy - no official response. "Sorry, its broken, your characters are lost, sorry", "We are trying to fix it, but it wont work until feb/march" etc - all response will be good. But when there is only silence, and forum just stopped work... As i say -  Not very encouraging news.

Just hoping all will be alright

I made a little experiment just now. 

Go to token generation page and disable your internet (physically or just disable you lan connection etc). Fill account and email (or password). Click "submit". What do you see?

For me it was.. yes,  "Token couldn't be generated now. Please try again later."  So i think it wasn't "physically changed by a dev". It just message come when nothing happens.

As I said - I hope they just disable token generation system to fix it. And I'm afraid that it is just disabled :)

I understand what you're talking about now, Weird, because i didn't get the "New message" until the 1st of Jan, (And trust me i check it all the time)

Hmmm.. 

And yeah i feel you when it comes to, no word from the Nostalrius Team. But remember as much as i hate to say it, The team literally owe us nothing, absolutely nothing, In fact, we owe them. So if our characters are gone, we need to not get mad because yeah it sucks, ALOT... But we need to be grateful for what that team did for WoW.

As i see. noone go mad in this thread. For me - my new priest is already 23lvl :) And from my experience i know, "free" supporting old projects maybe real "pain in the попа", so i haven't any demands to devs - they already did so many for community.

I just write here in hope this problem won't be forgotten. May be some day someone from nostalrius devs will be bored, look here and will say "damn! They still want their chars back. Maybe I can fix it" :D (it for "bad" option, where they just finish supporting 17.12, as it was said)
