Twitter post from 31/12

as for the reddit post, I get three type of answers
1) we can't do anything
2) blame blizzard
3) blame nost dev team

This isn't addressing the issue, this is just trying to blame their failure on others. They knew since the very beginning that Nost is "being held by the balls" and they should have prepared their PR material accordingly. If they cannot ensure character transfer, they had to know that long before launch date and shouldn't advertise this as "dunn deal". They should have said "there is slight chance that you'll get your characters back, but we cannot promise you that", but then this realm wouldn't have even 1000 players :)

I stick with my "this was a scam" opinion, because there is no way in hell, that Blizzard could enforce NDA on Nost developers. Also, I don't think that Blizzard even touched or let alone claimed Nost databases, they only wanted to shut down the server. This has happened many times before and never once I read anywhere that "Blizzard confiscated hardware containing their intellectual property".

A twitter post from 6 days ago. There is clearly nothing new to report. It hasn't even been a week since that post. Claiming that they haven't made a statement is a lie.

If that's all you take from that Reddit post, then I'm afraid I can't help you.

I never claimed that they confiscated anything, but there are other ways to get things done. A legal threat (even one which is directly unrelated to the database) could easily make them shut down the token generator. The original deal that Nostalrius made with Blizzard, which kept them out of legal trouble, could very well be conditioned on them seizing all activity related to Vanilla WoW servers. The token generator could very well have prompted Blizzard to threaten to sue for all the previously dropped allegation.

Why do you keep bringing blizzard into this ? If devs really wanted to, they wouldn't even have to set up some token site. They could just say, that their player database was "stolen" in a "security breach" of the server, where it is currently stored. You cannot be sued for getting something "stolen" from you. And no one could ever prove that there wasn't any hack. Also, and I'm pretty sure of this, Blizzard just doesn''t give a fuck anymore. They did what they had to, to protect their IP. Nost is down and that's it for them. And reusing the player database wouldn't be problem of Nost devs, but Elysium devs.

But even if I'm wrong and it is like you say, this still doesn't excuse Developers from lying to us. They stated MULTIPLE times that THEY WILL BRING OUR TOONS BACK ! If what you say is true, they knew all along that it couldn't be done (at least not legally) and just wanted free advertisement.

And my main issue with this whole situation is that they say there will be this feature and when it doesn't work, they say "We can't fix it". I don't give a single solitary fuck about where is the root of the issue, this is feature of THIS server, not Nostalrius. That server is long gone.

PS: It's also comical that they use EVERY channel to communicate with their players, except for their own forums. What is the point of this section of the forum then ?

The most likely explanation for this is that it's the holday period and nobody has been available to fix it,

The website has been down for sometime - I've been trying for ages to get to  the Nost forums to get help with talents etc for my new mage.

I'm still on holiday and won't be back to work until the 9th, why can't volunteers be the same and have time off?

I'm not sure who Bestworld is or where he got the info, nor am I sure who Jakira is, or where that information is supposed to have come from....

Well we can see that one of the developers, Chakor was on yesterday - not sure how large of a role they are playing, but I checked the other listed Devs and most have not been on since December 18, with one other being on December 30.

And Daemon is currently at least logged in, hopefully working on fixing the issue?
