atre 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2016 (edited) Hello I just lost over 1000 gold randomly yesterday so naturally the first thing I did after it happened was to contact a GM asking for help. As I suspected the GM confirmed that it is indeed written in your terms of service that you do never under any circumstances restore any lost characters/gold/gear etc, even if you have all of the required information in order to do so. For me this was the case and the GM confirmed it, I'm only one out of many who have had this happen now.So I decided to investigate the issue a bit and created a thread about it in the Help&Support section to see if there were enough people to actually reply to the post. As it turns out there was and for the most part we haven't used the same login combinations anywhere else but on nostalrius/elysium. Neither have we shared account information to anyone EVER. So I do find this recent wave of "hacked" accounts very strange. Now the GM I spoke to said that this is all very unfortunate but they won't do anything to bring back the lost stuff even if they have ALL of the necessary information as to where the gold got sent off to. All that happens is that the player receiving it gets banned,so in doing this you have basically only fixed half the problem maybe even less because this will most likely keep happening. So I'm wondering, why can't you help the people and restore the stuff? If you have ALL of the information needed in order to do this with logs etc. It would make players for the lack of a better word feel safer and more inclined to play for sure. Not only that but it would create better trust in the elysium staff/team too. I know this was a very rare occurrence on the original Nostalrius server before the shutdown but when it did happen they handled it very well as always in their forums. This is only one of many reasons as to why the Nostalrius brand/team has always been so respected within the private server/vanilla community. So I must atleast ask you to keep respecting those core values you have been talking about and help some people out now that you know it's a common issue.I can provide you with screenshots of the conversation with the GM if necessary as I SS'd the whole conversation, Just say the word.Link to other forum post: https://forum.elysium-project.org/index.php?showtopic=27478Looking forward to seeing your response./Fatrepe @ Nostalrius PvP Edited December 26, 2016 by atre
Ghostly 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2016 At the end of the day each person is responsible for their own account security. If they have to restore stuff every time someone gets hacked then players will only be more relaxed about the matter and it will create a bigger problem for them to handle. Secondly restoring stuff allows for easy abuse, it's as simple as me taking my friends 20,000 gold. Selling it to a gold farmer only to have his gold restored after the gold was probably already resold, as you can see it creates a problem.By stating that you didn't use the same password anywhere else, you're either implying that Nost/Elysium was hacked or it wasn't your fault I'm assuming? If it was Nost/Elysium's fault, they should indeed restore it but I highly doubt they would lie about such matters.Reasons people get hacked are usually quite simple.1) They use the same email for every server, meaning if their email is compromised their other accounts can be.2) They used the same password and name3) They had an extremely simple password4) They got a keylogger from a bad AddOn, Skype link, etc.The list goes on... but ultimately it is your responsibility. Sorry to hear you lost 1000 gold, that definitely calls for a bad day especially during the Holidays. Best of luck.

And this is exactly why I think they should help restoring stuff for now atleast until this has been issued. At the very least they should come out and say something about it officially so people are aware of what's going on (if this is indeed the case, still need confirmation from staff). Maybe make people change their passwords for example. After changing my own password I'm now getting subsecvent random instant dc's without any lag sometimes, this again is making me a little bit paranoid given the recent events. This could all be a coincidence ofc but I highly doubt that until its been clarified better by the staff. Edited December 27, 2016 by atre
