Cannot log in

Hello, well I played normally until now. Got disconnected and when I tried to log back in, it immediately said "Disconnected from server". Tried multiple times, always the same. Any tips how to fix this or is the server down? Thanks.

I am experiencing the same. I tried twice, I noticed the second time it clearly indicates I auth, handshake, and success. This is immediately followed by   "disconnected from server". 

 

Any ideas?

I didn't even get that far.. Just straight up disconnect upon clicking the enter button to finish my log in.

I was able to eventually get around it by continuing to attempt login, as the sticky suggested.

Also, if you continue to see this error, open your realmlist.wtf file and check the line starting with "SET realmname" - the value should be "Nostalrius PvE" or "Nostalrius PvP"; if it is anything different (for example "QA Server"), you will also get the instant disconnect.

I have something new now.. Got DC'd while in game, and never gets past "Authenticating" when attempting to log back in.

Got DCed in game about an hour ago, have been trying to log back in ever since and have had the same problem as OP. Furthest I got was the character selection screen where I got the loading characters message before being DCed again. I've tried changing my realmlist around, deleting my WTF and WBD files, made sure it's not somehow become blacklisted on my firewall, etc etc. Read through all the main forum posts regarding connection issues and they've been little to no help. Even though it most likely won't have anything to do with it, I noticed there were a hell of a lot more gold sellers and chinese toons online today than normal, so maybe that's overloading the server or something? Honestly not sure what to do atm, help would be appreciated.

same issues here.  I can log into the character screen after trying to login in 5-10 times and then while on the map loading page, i get dc'ed.

I have been experiencing the immediate disconnect, stuck at retrieving character screen and various other connectivity issues. After about 15-20 relog tries I am back in now, not sure for how long but... I'm in for now.

It's set for "Nostalrius PvP" and still getting the disconnect error. Also website is offline so I can't check anything in the Control Panel.

Realmname was just 'Nostalrius' in my config.wtf file, changed that to Nostalrius PvP and after a few attempts I was able to login again. Thanks Mimma!

I also cannot login. I have waited in the queue several times on Nost PvE and it fails to load my character list, or it does, then I Enter World...only to finish the loading screen and get disconnected immediately. Have tried 9 or 10 times now with no success.

Lol hilarious, You literally just need to keep trying to log on and you get on haha.
