Heymom 1 Report post Posted December 29, 2016 (edited) As topic. I am trying to pick a main to focus on, since its not viable to have alts with the effort that needs to be put into a class. I dont mind any of the roles be it tank'ing, heal'ing or dps'ing. The aim is endgame, the leveling is a grind on any class for me, regardless of the speed etc. And i only play horde. On retail my "mains" are Priest, Warrior, DK and Druid. But i play all classes (minus monk) i know its a subjective question, but i figure i ask somebody with endgame experience :) edit: Title Edited January 4, 2017 by Heymom

Bobtri 2 Report post Posted January 1, 2017 (edited) Priests and Shamans I'd say are most versatile and useful. Shamans have tricks up their sleeves for virtually any situation and can heal, melee and cast DPS all at the same time. They're also very useful in raids and dungeons (as heal and totem bots). Priests are also highly versatile - a shadow priest is like playing a totally different class to a holy priest. They're strong buffers, healers and as shadow priests formidable killing machines in PvP, Druids are obviously versatile but their overall usefulness is not as great as with priests and shamans IMO. Suprfli6 3 Report post Posted January 2, 2017 You're missing warriors, who are the best tanks in vanilla and also top tier dps. Most classes either have one role that they excel in, or several that they are mediocre at. Warriors can be top of the heap in two and I don't think any other class can say the same in vanilla.

I like priest a lot, mained one on retail since TBC, but iirc only 1 shadowpriest is viable in raids in vanilla due to DOT limits etc? and i fear being stuck in healing spec will gimp me somewhat in open world content. shamans i seems like they are bought for their totems only or/and as resto?
