Not sure if I got it right (I'm only here since a few days) - but the last time a popular server used to ban VPN it got DDoSed for months. It costs them money to send out DDOS attacks like that. It's not like they can go on forever. And I believe it was more like 5 weeks or so that Kronos got ddos'ed.
