Foxysocks 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2017 No proof Henceforth, was fixed in 1.7 before hand was a bug, therefore exploiting a known bug for the intent of griefing, have GM confirmation will continue to report it as bug abuse
Guest Report post Posted January 28, 2017 Hi all - We discussed this a few weeks ago. The TOU will be updated to reflect the following shortly: Running into an opposing factions AOE for the sole purpose of flagging that player for PVP combat on the PVE server is considered griefing. Yes, it was fixed later by Blizz, and will be fixed once we reach that same patch of the fix. Will it get you banned? No. Will a GM investigate it and advise you that it's considered griefing? Yes. We don't consider this bug abused, but we do consider it griefing. Tyche

Problem with this particular stance is further tickets generated until everyone gets on the same page. We saw this on Nostalrius with the changing positions on safe-spotting. Regardless, it's good to see you active Tyche and stating firm positions.
Guest Report post Posted January 28, 2017 Hi there, Yes we are aware of the bug you mentioned - thanks for submitting your evidence to the bug tracker :) The system is not perfect - and we're following Blizzard's patch progression. At the end of the day it all comes down to intention. If a GM believes that a player is intentionally using this mechanic to bypass the pvp status and bring people into PVP when they don't want to, on a PVE server, then that intention is what we would take action on. Sure there will be times where it won't happen on purpose, but I highly doubt those times will be reported, and consistent. Tyche
Gunari 3 Report post Posted January 28, 2017 It's pretty apparent if someone is doing it to grieve. Happened to me on 3 separate occasions today alone. Blizzarding stuff with my mage - opposing faction comes up, flags themselves, runs into my pack's AoE and then attacks me. Logs should make it pretty easy to verify. Why on earth would I find a flagged member of the opposing faction, gather mobs up, start AoE'ing the mobs THROUGH the flagged player to flag myself, so I have 10+ NPC's plus a flagged player attacking me? Doesn't make any sense.

He will never get banned for this according to the post above you. *Appearently he edited the post without it showing up Edited January 29, 2017 by Luxon
