Scambug 9 Report post Posted January 8, 2017 First of all congratulations on the success of the new server, I don't know where all these people came from but from one day to the next you doubled your player base. It seems the login server is being DDoSed however, I haven't been able to login since yesterday. I bet it's the chinese gold sellers that are doing it to give themselves a head start. You might consider temporarily disabling VPNs and blocking chinese IPs to fix that. Also with the queues we have, players are going to start cheating the AFK system to leave their toon on the server 24/7. I suggest you restart the server every 6 hours, that should take care of that. And if these 2 things don't change anything, you might want to temporarily deactivate all accounts that were made in 2017, I bet most new players created their account a few days before the launch. I know none of these measures are at all popular but I suppose doing something radical is better than having your player base type in their password over and over again until they go mad or leave for another game. Everquest 7 Report post Posted January 8, 2017 That's not fair Stormhart, his idea was not that selfish. But it's not a good solution. People would be waiting for hours in queue, finally getting in only to find out the server will restart in 10 minutes. But the keeping yourself online while you're afk / sleeping does need to get fixed. Because if we all start to do that, we'll have the same 10k people online and the rest can't play ever. So yes, some sort of auto kick should be in place if you're standing in the same spot for too long or something. Kick them to character select. And after afk there for 5 minutes kick them back to the login screen. I've seen people auto jumping in inns, running into walls and running in circles. Clearly afk and keeping themselves logged in. I don't have the perfect solution to fix this, but maybe somebody else can come up with something that's fair to all of us.
